This time, I’m moving on to Estée Lauder.
One of my more recent purchases is the Advanced Night Repair lotion.
I’m usually not a big fan of toners or lotions that feel sticky or overly thick, but this one has been surprisingly easy to use. Lately, I’ve been pairing it with the Advanced Night Repair serum more often, because the two seem to work especially well together.
Advanced Night Repair Serum is almost like a little security blanket for my skin.
Sometimes my skin feels tired, but I don’t want to use anything too aggressive or potentially irritating. This is the kind of serum I reach for on those days. It rarely feels harsh on my skin, even when my skin is being a little temperamental, so somehow I always end up coming back to it.
At the moment, I’m actually using a sample.
North Carolina summers come with some seriously strong UV exposure, even for someone like me who doesn’t spend that much time outdoors.
That’s why I use Perfectionist Pro Bright Serum almost every day during the daytime.
Vitamin C products can sometimes be irritating, but I’ve been able to use this one without any problems, even though my skin tends to be sensitive. I also love that I don’t have to keep it in the refrigerator. For me, that makes it much easier to use consistently.
Then there are nights when sagging is on my mind, but I still don’t feel like putting anything too strong on my skin.
That’s when I reach for Perfectionist Pro F+L Serum.
It isn’t the kind of product that makes me look in the mirror the next morning and think, Wow, something dramatic happened overnight. But I can use it almost every day through fall and winter without much irritation, and that makes it very easy to keep in my routine.
Estée Lauder doesn’t really have a separate pre-serum step, so after toner I usually apply Advanced Night Repair, followed by either a brightening serum or a firming serum depending on what my skin needs that day.
For eye care, I use Advanced Night Repair LS Eye Serum.
Of course I care about what’s inside, but I also really like the pump bottle.
With anything I use around my eyes, hygiene matters to me. And I like not having to bother with a spatula or cotton swab every time I use it. It’s one less little step, which makes the product feel much easier and more casual to use.
I’ve also tried the Re-Nutriv Diamond AR Eye Cream and Face Cream, although I’ve never actually purchased the full-size versions.
Estée Lauder often gives me samples when I shop there, and since these products are quite expensive, I’m very happy to make good use of those samples.(笑)
The Supreme Plus Bright RP Milky Lotion was also convenient. I liked the pump packaging, both for ease of use and for hygiene.
The fragrance, however, was a little too strong for me.
So this one will probably end up becoming my husband’s moisturizer for when he goes out.
Now that I’m past 60, I definitely have more days when the words cosmetic procedures or aesthetic treatments cross my mind.
In the U.S., those treatments can be very expensive, and for me they’re still somewhat unfamiliar territory. On days when I start thinking about that world, Estée Lauder skincare alone can sometimes feel a little… not quite enough.
But there are also plenty of times when I don’t want more.
In summer, when my skin is a little oilier, or when everything is calm and stable and I don’t feel like adding extra treatments, there’s something reassuring about having a skincare line I can simply use day after day.
I don’t think Estée Lauder is necessarily about dramatic overnight results.
For someone who wants to take care of their skin without constantly irritating it, and would rather think about how their skin will look years from now, it may be a very comfortable brand to live with.
Lately, I’ve also been seeing more articles and news about plastics, so I appreciate that many of the skincare products I use from Estée Lauder still come in glass containers. It’s a small detail, but somehow it gives me a little extra peace of mind.
In the end, skincare is never really about finding one magical product that does everything.
What I want to use changes with the season, with the condition of my skin that day, and with how aggressive — or gentle — I feel like being.
For me, Estée Lauder has become one of those skincare brands I can easily come back to when I want something familiar, comfortable, and relatively dependable.
I also share parts of my everyday life that do not always fit into the blog, including outfits, exercise, and other moments, on Instagram.
