Well I am back posting after a couple of days of chaotic drama, meaning classes and work. Anyways I was listening to a little Coldplay and I couldn't help but think this band sounds great on album but even better live. So it got me thinking about bands like Coldplay. O yeah by the by Coldplay is not a band to try to get pumped up to. I was doing economics homework and already almost unconscious but i think the coldplay made it worse. I felt great after I woke up though. I recommend it.
Now onto bands that sound like my favorite Coldplay. There are bands like Oasis or my pick Jeff Buckley (remember I am biased so I pick the ones I like, there are many more that have a sound like coldplay I just don't want to type that much). Buckley's voice was grand and sweeping, which fit with the mock-operatic grandeur of his Van Morrison-meets-Led Zeppelin music. That was totally taking from another website. I can't come up with that kind of genius. All I know is the influences and one is the immortal Led Zeppelin.
Me, I am not a huge fan of the Led but I do appreciate there stuff and the sound of Jimmy Pages voice. I'm not really into the heavy metal stuff...wait!... I'm not giving them their due. They were a mix of everything really. Their variety of other genres mixed with their crushingly loud interpretation of the blues puts them in a category all of their own. Even the fact that they rarely gave interviews, well the music press did kind of hate them, made them even cooler and even more mysterious and mystical adding to their unique style and power over their audiences and fans. This english band was an instant hit in the US. Their sound is found everywhere. AC/DC, Aerosmith, and Black Sabbath.
Of course when it all comes down to it all these english bands have one main source and acknowledgment to the ones that started it all. The Beatles, Elvis, and The Rolling Stones. Those do not need to be introduced or explained. Even if you don't know a thing about music you should know that much.
I don't know what it is with me and the english bands I think I'm a girl obsessed. But, really, who wouldn't be.
So I was roaming around the internet and live journal and found a Coldplay community which was great for updates and pictures of the November and December UK tour. Amazing shots. You have to check it out. http://www.peterhill.net/photos/main-archive/coldplay/viva-la-vida-uk-tour-2008 I want to post them but afraid I'll get in trouble My roommate just cites who ever she gets stuff from and I'm probably just worrying like an idiot. So not taking that risk. Anyways check it out it's worth it. I have them as screen savers.
I am kind of all over in this post so I apologize I can't keep my train of thought for long. Next post will be much more organized.
I won't be posting for a couple of days so I thought I would cover right now and the near future. Since a special holiday is coming up.

I don't know how many of you know about music from other countries. Some might think just because you might not understand it it is no good. Well you are mistaken. My roommate loves everything asian and she has gotten me interested in a lot of artists from asian countries. Her main area of expertise is Korean boy bands, but who could blame her when the guys are so hot and move so well. DBSK, Super Junior, FT Island, 2PM, TVXQ, Shinhwa, SHINee, Big Bang, and U-Kiss are just some of the bands, with hot bods and hot voices, that I have learned of. Examples:
Sexy right!!! The DBSK lovely's in this picture know how to sing and move. Just check out mirotic if you don't believe me. One of my favorite songs. P.S. to those who think that just because it's from another country and you might not understand the words, and most pop korean songs have english chorus', doesn't mean you can't understand the music and what they are trying to say. A little story, I was in my dorm room blasting DBSK's Mirotic and this girl knocks on my door and asks who sings it I say it's a korean band called DBSK and could be checked out online. She answers, "Korean they sound mad black." haha now hopefully you understand what I am trying to say. Members include Jae Joong, Yuhno, Chang Min, Micky, Junsu. Yuhno HAPPY 23 BIRTHDAY today!!!!
FT Island, now without all the original members, Oh Wonbin has left the band and has been replaced with a very cute Song Seunghyun, who is probably just as talented and deserves a break and a little acceptance. (Something that most die-hard Ft Island fans would not like to hear) Original memebers Jonghoon (guitar and piano), Hongki ( the amazing singer), Wonbin (guitar, vocals, and rap), Jaejin (bass), and Minhwan (Drums). Now moving on with the hotness...
Everybody...Super Junior aka SuJu for short. I still can't even remember their names however I hope this picture will help me out. I like their stuff, however what my roommate tells me is that they have different sub groups and that just confuses me more. Memeber are Lee Teuk, Heechul, Hangeng, Yesung, Siwon, Kibum, Kangian, Donghae, Eunhuk, Shindong, Sungmun, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun. But love them still. My favorite is Henry Lau, violinist, and cutest ever (I'm biased however) is from SuJu M. Still don't know everyone involved though.
2PM is a seven-member boy band from Seoul, South Korea. The members are Nichkhun, Jaebeom, Junsu, Taecyeon, Junho, Wooyoung, and Chansung. 2PM is one of the two subgroups branched out from the eleven-member boy band One Day, the other being 2AM. They debuted with the song "10 out of 10" which showcased their mix of acrobatic and b-boy dance style. Such cuteness.
Shinhwa. Okay honestly I have listen to about 2 songs, no offense to those who love them, but you got to remember I am still really new at this. Learning quickly thanks to my roommate and soompi. But so far I like them and damn they all look like Armani Models. Yummy!!!
Seriously is this picture hot or what. Not really known for their hotness more for their cuteness and their trendiness. Also for the fans, which includes me, of Boys Before Flowers you might like to know that SHINee recorded Stand By Me for the drama. Need more information on them. Debut 2008, not much known.
Look at them they think their such little gangsta's. Members include G-Dragon, Tae Yang, T.O.P., Dae Sung, and Seung Ri. There style of music is mostly Hip Hop with a little R&B and a bit of Mainstream thrown in. Also mostly known for free style and street dancing this band has all the right moves with a sound most, American's, at least can appreciate.
U-Kiss (유키스) is a 6-member Korean boy band under NH Media. They debuted in 2008 with a single album entitled “어리지 않아” (Not Young). Their first single is said to be a fusion of the typical kpop as well as a "dirty south" style which was entirely composed by the Brave Brothers. U-Kiss is composed of 6 boys – two of which came from the pre-debut Xing (Kevin and Kibum). Among the U-Kiss members, they know seven languages, allowing them to communicate with fans in Korean, English, French, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Kiss Stands For:
U- Ubiquitous
K- Korean
I- International (Idol)
S- Super
S- Star
This shows their intention of becoming an international group with the member's ability to converse with different languages such as English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean, so on and so forth.
Okay so those where just a few of the big names for boy bands in korea. People have to remember also that that the Korean pop culture also include some American artists. So they are not different from everyone else with their tastes in music. Gotta give credit where it's deserved. Love their music industry. Fans are loyal and that says enough. However you do hear the now and again horror story about fans taking it a little to far. Hopefully that will stop. They are people to you know.
Hopefully you will give them a listen to see if they really are not that different from your music. In future posts I will not limit myself so much on one type of music within a country. I have listened to a lot of different music and have an appreciation for it all.
If theres something I might not have heard tell me I love to find new music I haven't heard before. New Day means New Sounds. Till my next post.

So I am listening to Adele right now. I fell in love with Chasing Pavement originally, so smooth and relaxing. Anyways I'm actually listening to the rest of her album and I have decided that she reminds me of a few classical arists I listen too. By the way love Adele!!! Can't wait to find more of her stuff and give it a listen.

She describes her music as "heartbroken soul". I definitely agree. This is definitely an artist I would listen to after a break up with a guy. She's very Jazz, so if you like Ella Fitzgerald or the lovely Etta James then I would definitely recommend the modern version of those women.
Now hopefully those reading this know who at least Etta James is. If not then look for At Last to refresh your memory.
-Ella Fitzgerald
Now she's the women who's voice I absolutely love. She worked with Louis Armstrong and those two sure now how to make a girl fall in love with music. The famous but not so heard of, at least not today, is Etta James. Songs like Hooray for Love, Bewitch, Bothered, and Bewildered, and Something's Gotta Give are just some of my favorites. Check them out if your interested in learning more.
