Our Villain's First Appearance
OOC Disclaimer: This character has NOW BEEN APPROVED! WOOT WOOT! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Allora sat at her desk at BuzzWire, her head bent down over countless pages spread out in front of her, a highlighter firmly clenched between her teeth. Every once in a while, when she read something pertinent to the story she was currently fact-checking, she would highlight a line or two before returning the highlighter to her teeth. Frustrated and exhausted, Lora gave a sigh, tossed the highlighter onto her desk, and leaned back in her seat, giving a stretch to try and work out the kinks that had formed in her back while she’d been tediously leaning over the papers scattered over the surface. The desk was littered with random sheets of papers, pens, pencils, highlighters, paper clips…any and every possible office supply on the face of the planet. And somewhere buried underneath it all was her laptop. It was organized chaos…exactly how she liked it. In fact, it was probably the only thing she even remotely liked about this job. She cast a rueful glance over to the pile of pages sitting on the corner of her desk and had to suppress the urge to vomit. There was yet another Paris Hilton scandal…something about some pregnant star finally squeezing out their no-doubt hideous offspring…some star reportedly caught doing cocaine…the usual garbage nobody should really care about but somehow find fascinating. At least when Maureen had ran the show they’d had some credibility. But now that what’s-his-face (she never could remember his name…not that she tried that hard anyway) was in control of the operation, what little tact they’d managed to retain had gone flying out the metaphorical window. She’d rather be out doing something constructive with her time…but unfortunately, seeing as her night job didn’t pay, she had to keep this pathetic excuse for employment. As she stared off into space, not really taking in anything around her, Allora smiled as she mentally relived her last hunt. This one had been particularly difficult…the vampire she’d been tracking had been very difficult to dispose of. He’d put up one hell of a fight, that was for sure. But, in the end, even his superior abilities had been no match for her skill and experience as a hunter. She smiled widely as she remembered the rush of the kill, the pride that had ballooned inside her as she’d ridded Los Angeles of yet another blood-sucking Night Stalker. Allora realized that she probably took her night job a little too seriously. She would even go so far as to compare her feelings toward hunting vampires to a heroin addiction. She could never seem to stop thinking about hunting…she lived for the rush it gave her. The rush of the kill. And she was always looking forward to her next hunt, always planning and going over in her mind the steps that would ultimately bring her to achieving her goal. She knew she was obsessive, but she couldn’t help it. The vampires had to be eradicated. She’d swore revenge against every vampire on earth after what they’d done to her…after they’d torn her life apart at the seams… Allora gave herself a mental shake. She couldn’t go there. She wouldn’t go there. At least, not right now. Instead, she decided to focus her attentions on what was going on around her. Ever since she could remember, she’d had a habit of observing her surroundings…observing people as they interacted with each other and went about their normal, daily lives. She wasn’t sure exactly why she did this, but she had a sneaking suspicion that it might be because she’d never been able to do that. She’d never had a normal life…never been able to interact with others in a normal fashion. She was on the outside looking in. Looking in at people who had no idea that there were unknown terrors lurking in the shadows, no idea of the dark secret she’d harboured for twenty long years. No idea that, while they slept peacefully and soundly in their beds, unaware of the danger they were constantly in, she roamed the streets, risking life and limb to eliminate this threat and keep them safe. | | Monday, June 23rd, 2008 | 9:09 pm [noisywallflower]

OOC Mod-Note
Hey, guys! I hope that this hasn't died. I just got a job, so this is a notice that I might not post as rabidly as I might have in the past. I promise I'll catch up, of course. Anyway... *shakes you* Wake up! Smell the metaphorical coffee! -Bridget | | Thursday, June 12th, 2008 | 2:15 am [noisywallflower]

Community banner?
Hey, guys, Stacey brought up the idea of making a banner for the community featuring pictures of all of the characters. This would mean that players of original characters would have to conjure up a physical face for their characters in this banner. Or maybe you have another idea regarding the issue. I like the idea of a banner, but I'm not sure I'm very keen on this particular way of doing a banner. Original characters may come and go and we would have to update the banner with each change. I was hoping to get input from all of you beautiful people. -Bridget | | Monday, June 9th, 2008 | 10:01 pm [quinnsketchinz]

[using my application first person post, changing it into a third person post.] “NO! No no no…,” Quinn's hands slammed down on the keyboard in front of her. Many feelings were running through her body: fear, anger, frustration, etc. Hopefully Buzzwire doesn’t fire her for this. How bad did I screw up? she thought. Well, the server has gone bananas. It has stopped working and I don’t know what I did wrong. Oh! I hope they don’t find out; but they have to. “Quinn, you okay in here?” A voice questioned from the door The boss. She instantly froze like a criminal who had been caught red-handed. “I…I’m..fi,” Quinn stopped herself from lying. She just couldn’t lie, that’s not a good way to start a professional relationship. “I don’t know what happened, the server has stopped working.” Quinn's eyes glanced at the boss, looking for some sense of anger. She was slowly preparing herself for the worst. He chuckled gently, “ That’s okay. We can always call a repairman. No big deal Quinn, just relax. In fact, I’ll go call one of them now.” His footsteps slowly echoed out of the room, while she sat there frozen. What just happened? Did he let me off the hook? Am I not fired?--------- Westly to the rescue, tag | | Friday, June 6th, 2008 | 5:53 pm [noisywallflower]

waking up (OOC: I'm using Polly the nurse as a NPC. If you want to do the same with her please feel free!)Light filtered through Sara’s long eyelashes as she slowly blinked her eyes open. She wrinkled her eyebrows together in confusion, not knowing where she was. I must have fallen asleep, She reasoned silently. She cleared her throat softy, finding her mouth and throat uncomfortably dry. “Sara?” She heard an unfamiliar voice call out her name. She rubbed her eyes and tried to sit up, trying to get a better view of her surroundings and see the source of the voice. A short, dark-skinned woman was standing bedside. “Yes?” Her voice was uncertain and faltered a little on that one word. The fog was slowly lifting from her mind as she tried to recall her last memory, whatever had happened before she had slipped into that slumber. “Charles,” She murmured the name, the features of his face becoming clearer as she put forth an effort to remember them. “Sit tight, honey, I’ll be right back.” The woman smiled at Sara and left the room. Sara gave a small smile and nodded. Sara looked around the room, becoming slightly uneasy at the sight of medical apparatus surrounding her. She swallowed a small lump in her throat as she took everything in. Suddenly, she gave a small start. She could hear what was being said in the next room perfectly clear - The nurse was on the telephone, asking to speak to Charles Fitzgerald. This alarmed Sara for the briefest of seconds until something clicked in her mind. She smiled just a little. Could it have been that he had done it? Changed her into what he was? It made sense, but where was he? She sat up in a slightly more prim position, waiting for the woman, presumably some sort of nurse or caretaker, to be connected to Charles on the phone. Too Calm? - Open for anyone to respond
Mick had been lounging around his apartment all day long. It was quite a contrast from the usual. Most days he had a case to investigate and he would take that chance to distract himself by immersing himself in the whole experience. Solving a mystery could be exhilarating. It certainly jolted him out of anything that might bring on melancholy. ( Read more...Collapse ) | | Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008 | 1:12 am [noisywallflower]

Dropping in...
Hi, guys! There's been a little conflict over one particular issue, so I thought that I would clarify things. When you post, please only post for the character(s) you are playing and not someone else's character. If you have a question regarding this issue, please just post it here and I will answer it to the best of my ability! I hope to stick Mick into the plot tomorrow, fyi. -Bridget | | Friday, May 30th, 2008 | 7:47 pm [noisywallflower]

Pretty please?
I hate to pester you lovely people more, but here it is... I need icons for Mick and for Sara. I just switched over to a Mac and I don't have my beloved Photoshop or CyberDVD to make screencaps. I was hoping that you guys could help me out. On another note, I have Mick's biography up on michael_stjohn. That's the username. Creative, I know. Tell me if I botched anything. See you around! -Bridget | 4:02 pm [xomelkleinox]

Mission: Computer Crack
Melanie wiggled to the music inside her head during the ride up to the BuzzWire offices. Well, she thought to herself, no, not OFFICES... more like some non cubicle cubicles surrounds but some secrety secret offices. She giggled at her inner dialogue ad literally bounced out of the elevator when the doors opened; she had coffee for everyone that she normally got it for and would probably be accused of drinking some herself. That hadn't been her fault, at least not today - she'd gotten Beth Turner coffee out of habit, completely forgetting that said woman no longer work at BuzzWire. She knew it had been a good move for Beth, since she too wanted to move towards more serious journalism instead of just who had just screwed who in the parking lot of Spago in Beverly; her sister thought Mel was a busy-body though, and thought that working for a tabloid was perfect for her. "Here you go," Melanie said as she stuck a coffee cup down on someone's desk, "just the way you like it." As the person sniffed the coffee, Mel reached into her purse and pulled out some Splenda packets, grinning as she handed them over. "Well, almost just the way you like it." Soon she was at the desk she had been at for almost the past year, and logged in to see what she was being told to do today; with Maureen there had been some sense of seriousness and quest for REAL news stories, but since her death... that had gone straight out the window. Melanie sighed and looked through the task list, sitting up straight at the last e-mail. "I will NOT search someone's computer," she squeaked, "that's just... that's just WRONG..." "You better if you want to keep your job," a voice said from behind her, "and she left so whatever is on her computer is BuzzWire property now." Melanie sighed, but picked up the essentials from her desk and went over to what used to be where Beth Turner worked. "Okay," she said, "you're doing your job." She smiled. "This is a good thing, just do it quickly and you'll be fine." It felt like hours before Mel made ANY head way, because she wasn't a techie and she... wasn't every excited about this task; it still seems very wrong that she was trying to break into someone's private files - why hadn't their tech department just wiped the hard drive yet. It would be the most ethical thing to do, but ethical had gone out with the death of Maureen and Beth Turner's departure. "Find anything yet, Adi?" Melanie looked back and smirked. "No, still working on it," she said, "all I've been able to do is get into my email through the we-" She froze as an email that hadn't been there two minutes ago popped up on the screen. Luckily, some people still cared about some privacy; as she read the email, Mel had a feeling of dread wash over her... they were trying to get something from her. And Beth Turner. She printed out the attachment, which seemed like an endless list of names that didn't seem to go together for Mel. The names that stuck out were Josef Kostan and Mick St. John; the first because he'd been surrounded by scandal lately, and the second because... he knew Beth. A quick trip to the personnel office netted her Beth's contact information. "Hi, this is Melanie Klein from BuzzWire," she told Beth's answering machine when it picked up, "I'm probably going to try your mobile too - but could you call me ASAP? Thanks a bunch!" (tag: Beth, anyone else if they feel like it) Current Mood: chipper | 12:00 am [noisywallflower]

Hey there (update of sorts)
Hi, guys! I'm sorry I seem to be dragging my feet with Mick's profile. And Sara's profile, for that matter. Seeing as my profile(s) seem to be the only thing keeping us from starting, I thought that I would give you guys the big official go-ahead to start threads and plot stories. Feel free to use the previous post as a sort of brainstorming session. Or swap ideas in AIM. My AIM is all crazy at the moment Personally, I think that playing out a storyline involving The List (in big, boldfaced letters) would be best to start us out considering that it draws in all of the characters. Maybe have Melanie discover it... Well, I don't know. We'll get things sorted out together. :D I'll get busy with my profiles, in the meanwhile! -Bridget | | Monday, May 26th, 2008 | 8:54 pm [noisywallflower]

News and inquiries
As soon as I get off of my lazy ass and put together a decent application for Mick, we will be ready to start! Unless, of course, you know someone else who would want to be Mick. We will soon have our core four! Like the show, I would like it if our game had different storylines to explore. I came up with a few, but they're mostly recycled from all of the paranormal-centered shows and books I've watched/read over the years. One I thought of involved a vengeful vampire whose love was killed by Mick in the past. Said vampire would be targeting Beth's friends and ultimately Beth herself to get even. I also wanted to stick Sara in the game somewhere along the line Don't be afraid to tell me when my ideas are pure crap. I can take criticism. I'd love to hear any ideas you would like to play out in the game! See you around! -Bridget | | Thursday, May 22nd, 2008 | 7:48 pm [noisywallflower]

Update!
Hey, everyone :) We're progressing nicely. I don't mind taking a while to cast if it means we get an awesome cast of characters. I've been digging around to see if anyone on other RP forums is interested. I found our Coraline on InsaneJournal. I can't seem to find anyone who is interested in taking Mick. I might wind up taking Mick, so I'll be obsessively catching up on old episodes on iTunes to get his story as straight as possible. I do understand that a stellar application can't be made in five minutes, but writing one out as fast as you can without making the quality suffer is really appreciated. I will seriously dole out internet-hugs for you. I was thinking, once we've started, that maybe I could do a brief Sara Whitley storyline - have her wake up and experience culture shock as this is definitely a new age than the one she fell into a coma in. I kind of wanted to play her just for kicks. I imagine it could be fun. Anyway, if you have any friends who are interested in Moonlight and writing, please tell them about our game. The more the merrier - This is especially the case with canon characters. I love canon. Ciao! -Bridget | | Sunday, May 18th, 2008 | 12:35 am [noisywallflower]
