I got this Paypal e-mail yesterday, saying that Wayne E. Bakewell from Brownsville, PA had charged $699.99 for a Dell laptop to my Paypal account. It looked like a legitimate e-mail so I panicked and called my bank to report to a fraudulent charge. Whew, my bank had no record of the transaction. I thought maybe it hadn't gone through yet.
I took another look at the Paypal e-mail and saw a link to cancel the transaction. Waitaminute. Paypal doesn't have a 'cancel translation' link in their regular e-mails, they just send a receipt. It was a phishing scam!
I almost got taken in because it looked like a legitimate Paypal e-mail. So beware if you get
( an e-mail like this. It's fake!Collapse )
