1:27AM - Okay, I'm learning more about being a mod...
I've changed some information on the info page:
This is a community for folks who grew up watching, or still watch, "Perry Mason". We'll even talk to the folks who've read the books by Earle Stanley Gardner.
So many people have fond memories of the show, and the performers. This is mostly so that we can show Paramount that we want to have all the episodes available on DVD, like so many other TV shows.
Postings to do with the television show, the books, and the storylines are welcome.
No flames, no insults, et cetera. This is just a place for folks interested in Perry Mason.
NOTICE: If there is interest, fan fiction may be an option. There are always ideas the sprout from a storyline, something that wasn't expounded upon to the (reader's) edification. There is a lot of room for expression. Details to be hammered out as we flex our wings.
I really need to get my Perry Mason books out of storage to do this properly, but, since I write fan fiction in another fandom, I'm wondering if there is a place for Perry Mason stories that explore ideas that we seem to see in Mr. Gardner's ever-popular legal eagle. Let me know what you think...Please?

7:22AM - Thanks
First thanks for allowing me entry to this journal. I am a huge Perry Mason fan, but a bigger Erle Stanley Gardner fan. Just finished "TCO the One-Eyed Witness."
While Raymond Burr *was* Perry Mason, I enjoy the Mason stories by Gardner written before the series came to TV in 1957. During the 60's, it seemed to me he was writing books that he knew could be adapted to the TV formula of identifying at the end of the program, the killer. The earlier Mason books were less concerned about saying whodunit and more about Mason proving his client didn't do it.
I also enjoyed the books Gardner wrote as A.A. Fair. Again, glad to have a place to be able share my love for a good crime fighter. :)

9:42PM - *snicker* Perry's in Wikipedia...
Here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perry_Mason
It gives book titles and movies! Whoot!
I have The Case of the Stuttering Bishop, circa 1940. I love that "just shy of legal" Perry Mason in the early books...That's the Perry Mason that would play well on the big screen, and I'm hoping one day they'll make a movie that pays homage to both Raymond Burr and the character that Earle Stanley Gardner crafted.
9:27PM - Supposedly very old episodes on currently? Maybe?
My sister lives in Washington, and said that the cable station out of Portland, OR had some episodes she remembered from way back when (she can say that since she came to the States in 1959), that she hadn't seen since the early 1970's.
Trying to check this, but, so far I haven't found the listings.
Wonder if we'll be able to more episodes?
I'm still saving money for the dvds currently available.
I also found this site selling a 13 disc set + S & H:
