Description:
the flesh craving undead with super powers
The Marvel Zombieverse was first discovered by the Mister Fantastic of the Ultimate Marvel Universe. The Ultimate Fantastic Four got their powers through dimensional exploration and a released burst of unknown energy from that. Because of this, Reed thought his best chance for finding a way to cure them all, inparticular Ben Grimm, was by further dimensional studies. During the process of which he made contact with another Mister Fantastic and talked to him at length......until he received an invite to cross universes and he popped on through.
Reed found a city in ruins and a world in about the same condition. The other Fantastic Four had lied to him and shortly after his arrival he was attacked by flesh craving zombies of heroes similar to the ones he knew, and some he'd never heard of, but vastly different. They looked more like the 616 Marvel Universe heroes...minus the rotting flesh and desire to eat anyone living.
Oddly enough he was rescued by one of the few remaining non·zombies on the planet: Magneto. Reed barely got back to the Ultimate Universe in one piece, although the Zombie Fantastic Four eventually managed to pursue him and all Hell broke loose.
There's been multiple series that spawned from this and a bit of continuation in the early issues of the Ultimate Fantastic Four. Also, a crossover with The Army of Darkness series.
If you like Zombies and comicbooks, this is definitely a series worth checking out.
