"Have you ever heard a joke so many times you've forgotten why it's so funny? Then you hear it again and it's new. You remember why you loved it in the first place. That was my fathers final joke I guess. The man tells his stories so many times that he becomes the stories. They live on after him. And in that way, he becomes immortal."

thrill me! thrill me!
-supernova pullover : beautiful. -spartan pullover : handsome! -sienna jacket : i want to wear this christmas morning while bringing qzy hot cocoa by the christmas tree, or standing and watching snow fall. or apple picking. it's perfect - even the colour. -*maybe* the breton jacket or weekend pullover, but i can't tell from those photos (and i've discovered i'm kinda picky when it comes to heavily cabled things...)
the mittens are really cute. but mittens are as mittens are.
great colours in this issue.. a few really *nooooo* pieces, too.

i know i'm weird about my yogurt. i know it. i'm ok with it.
i don't like fat free or even reduced fat. i don't like stirred yogurt. i want my fruits on the bottom, and even then i don't like them stirred in.
but i've got a new "thing" about yogurt. i'm becoming brand specific.
i bought sealtest (on sale! .29c each!) full fat fruit bottom yogurt. but it TASTES LIKE FAT FREE. it doesn't have the tart wonderful yogurteyness that i like. too! sweet!
astro. full price. you're the way to go.
(or liberty. but that's for fancy days.)

You are bamboo. Warm, cozy, and thoughtful, you take your time and
enjoy how things feel, smell, and taste. You
love the craft and beauty of traditional
things, and you value the comfort and
experience of knitting as much as the
results. But while you are reveling in your
warm cozies, don't get stuck. Warm is
wonderful, but so is the whole wide world!

i started knitting with the fixation last night. just swatching and stuff. getting a feel for this really strange new yarn. i'm not sure whether i like it or not, yet. the finished fabric feels beautiful, though.
so far, i'm working on 42 stitches, 3 rows k1p1, 1 row purl then continuing in stockinette for a bit... i've not decided how long yet, because i realized that the pattern i was working off of (argyle) will be way too high, and i have to rechart it.
working in black yarn on 2.5mm's at 11pm is also a challenge. my eyes didn't want to do it, and there was nothing natural about working on metal needles that felt like they wanted to pierce my fingertips. i had to watch every stitch.
i have also decided to duplicate stitch the argyles on. i feel it's kinda cheating, but i don't want floats on the back. i may do the diamonds intarsia, and just duplicate stitch the crosses.
maybe.
i really should hammer this idea out better.

i was dreaming about knitting cuffs last night. i had scraps and tid bits of bits of black that were reluctantly sold to me (by lettuce knit), but i was really after a ball of fixation.
knitting stress dreams, anyone? hahah... lame!
