Just thought folks might want to know that Build A Bear has released what might as well be a plushie Companion, in the form of their Blingy Pony--a white pony with blue eyes and silver fabric hooves! I got one yesterday (the character of Herald-Trainee Finny in Redoubt is based upon me, so naturally I need a plushie Companion), and she's absolutely amazing!

This is not so much a sequel to Magic's Path as it is a timestamp. It takes place somewhere in what would be Magic's Promise, after Vanyel brings Tashir back to Forst Reach.

I wrote this a little while ago and then kinda stopped thinking about it - it's about Stef and Lissa getting to know each other after Vanyel's death. Posted over atlast_herald_mage.
I need so much help here it's not even funny :/ So, guys, please tell me if you have any advice about the emotional dynamics of this or how the AU is going, or anything else that's (unintentionally) horribly wrong. One of my bigger problems is that (!!!!) it involves quite a lot of 'Lendel, who I've somehow not really written about before because I am such a gorram Stefgirl. It also doesn't have a title yet. :/
This is the first chapter of an AU that splits off near the end of vol 3. Warnings for...well, nothing you don't see in canon, which is to say major character death, mention of canon noncon, and mental health issues including self-injury and PTSD. Later there will be dubcon hatesex, though I've not written anything graphic yet. You should definitely only read this if you are okay with whump OH WAIT THIS IS LHM FANDOM <3
(BTW, I've bought books from Blind Eye Books before, and their quality is very good. Buy some books from them! I recommend Wicked Gentlemen in particular.)
I've mainly been lurking here, but I have been on a Van/Stef fluff writing spree these past few months, and I thought I'd finally post a link.
This fic (like many others) is based on Stef's comment from Winds that he and Van had plenty of fights/ kinks to work out in their relationship due to the age gap and other major differences (class, life experience, etc.). Basically, it's just Van feeling self-conscious and uncomfortable about the twenty-year difference.
This was meant to be a birthday offering for macabre_monkey but it's nearly a week late. 1800 words, and so relentlessly cheerful that just looking at it makes me want to beat myself to death with my keyboard, plus it's completely SFW. Idon'tevenknow. We will return to our regularly scheduled wangstporn soon, I am sure.
My most recent reread of these books resulted in over 21K of completely self-indulgent fanfic, and while I was trying to figure out what the heck to do with it other than post to AO3/my journal, I discovered this community. Yay! Nice to meet you all.

Exactly how important was she? Not simply to Vanyel but to the overall plot - to other characters? Did you like Yfandes? If so, why? Was it a particular line, deed or scene, or maybe her devotion (not bereft of chiding Vanyel if necessary!) to Vanyel?
Perhaps you didn't like Yfandes - why?
What impact did she make on Vanyel? Do you think the books should have elaborated on her character more? Thoughts?

Hi again. I haven't finished anything new lately but I finally got around to digging up all the old LHM fics I've never archived anywhere.
First up, some good old-fashioned V/S fluff fic. I wrote this in, um, sometime between 2004 and 2006, as a part of a much longer fic that I was never able to finish. It being so old, there are things wrong with this scene that cannot be fixed by line-editing. :( But hey. It is fluff. So long as it makes someone somewhere feel fuzzy inside it's all okay.
Here's three teenytiny LHM fills I wrote for the glorious Three-Sentence Ficathon of 2009. (and thank god for the delicious archive, or I'd never have found the damn things ;_; ) Some angst and suicide stuff under here (well hi, canon).
Cruel trolling; this is another scene from an unfinished fic. The fic in question was an HoV femslash fic about two OCs, but here they are with their (as they see it) historical RPF meta (I love thinking of the whole rest of HoV canon as looking at the LHM in that light, lol), and it is trolly.
