Long time, no post, eh? My work schedule for the past several months has made it really hard to spend time concentrating on writing, unfortunately. :/ Well-Woven Net 21 is half-done or so, but I haven’t had the wherewithal to wrench it along to the end. Similarly, I haven’t had much chance for the occasional one-shot, either, though I’ve managed a few that I still need to post here...

And here’s one of them. :) Bioware held a fanfic contest in December to celebrate the release of Asunder (the latest Dragon Age novel). I had to write something, if only to show support for more fic contests in the future. Since Asunder relates to the escalating mage/templar conflict, I tried to keep that overarching theme in mind when I thought about what to write.

Didn’t take me long to find a topic. There was a codex entry in the Tower, found while you’re clearing out the demons, abominations and so on, that really made me stop and think the first time I saw it in game. I figured it would give Devin pause, too...

So here’s my entry, which was selected into the contest’s top 20. This is the sort of stuff Devin thinks about when he's not planning a campaign into someone's pants. Easy to see why he prefers the latter, yeah?

My main writing muscle (i.e. my brain) has been crippled lately, but when Bioware announced that they'd allow fanfiction in their Mark of the Assassin fanart contest, I had to join in to show that dammit, fanficcers want to play, too! The length limit was 1000 words; I had to trim this a bit to fit, so here is the uncut version. Hopefully I didn't make any typographical blunders while "uncutting". ^_^;

Hrm, I need a Tristran icon. ^_^; A Fenris one wouldn't hurt, either...

Well, they're back. :)

This chapter went through a lot of pushing, pulling, hemming and hawing, but it's finally in a state of completion, I think, or close enough. ;) Apologies for the long delay -- it's been everything from vacation, to work, to short one-shots getting my attention, to Dragon Age 2 (which, to be honest, has had minimal impact, creatively...). This should be the end of this rather long 24-hour period that's taken up 4 chapters of the story... ~_~ Next time: back to the actual game plot!
