MTV article-
Korn have found a replacement for former guitarist Brian "Head" Welch, but don't expect to see the new addition performing with the band anytime soon. Korn, who're working on their next album, have recruited former Otep guitarist Rob Patterson to take over for the band's upcoming European tour, but, as frontman Jonathan Davis detailed in an online posting, "he will not be onstage." Davis said the band refuses to use "samples or tape, 'cause that would suck," but admitted Korn are "not ready to have a new guy onstage with us." Patterson's stint with the band will end when the European jaunt does, Davis said, promising "some new, exciting ideas on how we are gonna play live in the future" that "will blow your mind." |

Hi all you people.
I decided to write again, and this time it's not a recanting of some frustrating or nauseating experience I've gone through... oh you can't wait, can you?
It has recently come to my attention that a certain Jonathan Davis, lead singer of Korn had a child with his supermodel wife Deven Davis this past March. Now this alone is of no particular interest to anyone (except a Korn fan...(cough)... didn't think so), aside from the fact that it's been confirmed that you can never underestimate the power that being the lead singer of band has over the female population, but that's another story. The real interest here is the baby's name... get ready for it... PIRATE HOWSMON DAVIS!! Yes, you read that correctly, that poor child's name is Pirate. PIRATE!!
For fear of wandering off into unrelated tangents, I won't even touch the fact that "Howsmon" sounds, at the very best, like the greeting of a dyslexic Jamaican. The worst part of it, however, is that little Pirate cannot go by his middle name when he gets old enough to realize what his sadistic parents have done to him. More to the point, it is my firm opinion that the Davis's unfortunate choice of baby names goes far beyond a life of agony for the child, and to prove this (hypothetically, anyway...hahaha), I would like you to join me in a thought experiment. Behold!
We are going to go through four possible life moments of poor little Pirate Davis. Now while it isn't guaranteed that he will go through these exact sitations, he will surely go through many that will be of similar result.
Life Moment #1 - Disneyland
We join Pirate at the age of five and, like all five year olds, is inquisitive and loves Disney. Assuming that Jonny hasn't pissed away the spoils of his former glory yet, the family will have money for vacations to such places as, oh, say Disneyland. So momma, poppa, and pirate are touring around the inner sanctum of Disneyland when they inevitably reach the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Pirate asks daddy, "Daddy? Why is that ride named after me?" Jonathan responds, "It isn't. You were named after pirates." "What's a pirate, daddy?" Mommy pipes in, "Pirates are people who used to ride around on big scary ships and rob and murder people." Little Pirate contemplates this in stunned silence, and realizes for the first time that something is amiss.
Life Moment #2 - Halloween
Pirate is now nine years old, and thanks to the little monsters in his school, is all too familiar with why he is different from Joey, Bobby, and Steve. Halloween rolls around and the few friends that little pirate has managed to acquire in his previous three years of grade school are coming over to chez Davis to join him in the traditional trick-or-treating ritual. He's been looking forward to this day for weeks. The prospect of excitement, candy, and how undeniably cool he looks in his little spaceman outfit assures him that this will be a night to remember... or will it? As he excitedly opens the door, the first thing he notices is shiny plastic... swords... a pang of dread... eyepatches... nausea... boots, earrings, fake birds, stupid hats... the urge to maim. "We're dressed as... YOU!" exclaim the little bastards in unison, before breaking into hysterical laughter. As Pirate runs screaming up the spiralling stairs of his cavernous home, he has at once sworn off halloween forever and decided that one day, one glorious day, he will have the last laugh.
Life Moment #3 - Eye Injury
Pirate has survived his childhood years (barely), but at the tender age of seventeen, has the world's largest chip on his shoulder. In spite of his rage, or possibly because of it, Pirate has become an inspired football player. In the last game of his Junior year, he gets gouged in the eye by a dirty linebacker. Pirate goes with his mom to the doctor and learns that while his eye will heal, he will have to wear an eye patch for three weeks. An eye patch. For a kid named Pirate. The doctor shakes his head solemnly as he fits the patch and gives pirate the most sympathetic pat on the shoulder that he has ever given. At school, his classmates can only laugh hysterically and interject the occassional "It's just too easy." Being rich, American and seventeen means that Pirate can sign up at his local gun club for marksmanship lessons... he might as well, I mean, he already has one eye closed... and thus is introduced to firearms for the first time.
Life Moment #4 - Thesis Defense
Our little swashbuckler is almost as clever as he his bitter, and as such has gone through his undergraduate degree, and is preparing to get his Master's degree. To do so, he must go in front of a panel of experts, and an audience of his peers and defend a thesis. The harrassment has not gotten any worse of late, but poor Pirate has developed a bit of a twitch from choking down the rage. Ever since he started the marksmanship training, he's carried around a semi-automatic pistol... he hopes he'll get through another day without having to use it...
The lead professor takes charge, "So... who do we have here... ahh yes, Pirate Davis. So what is the thesis you wish to arrrrrrrgue?" Laughter... "Are you going explore the effect of buried treasure on tropical economies?" His hand, pulsating, grips the weapon in his pocket... "Maybe you'll convince us of the merits of walking the plank as a capitol punishment alternative..." At this, our protagonist lets out what can only be described as a loud gurgle, and proceeds to fire round after round into everything moving in the room... 17 people perish before he turns the gun on himself... a tragic end to a tragic life.
- - - - - - - -
Ok, so it might not happen exactly like that, but there is an air of plausibility to it, don't you think? And who can blame Pirate? If you really think about it, if your name was Pirate, do you think you'd be able to live your life without homicidal tendencies? I once knew a family with a son and a daughter named 'Garney' and 'Verla'. The son? Stupid fuck! The daughter? Evil bitch! I think the world would be a better place if people (especially celebrities) were a little less high on crack when they named their babies. Honestly, who wants to wander the planet with the moniker 'Moon Unit Zappa'? Nobody! And, if by some miracle this e-mail reached Jonathan Davis, I hope he knows that he'll burn in hell for this shit. |

Has anyone read "Korn: Life in the Pit"? I'm thinking of using it for my biography report for school... But I don't know if it has facts about their lives... Or their careers... (i.e. is their enough to do a report on just one of the band members?) |

So...Its a hard decision, and I can never know if I made the right one... So I picked Ozzfest because its closer and I love Otep. If I picked KoRn that means a 3 hour drive and mom will be staying at the concert with me...But its KoRn...so Im still up in the air with this madness...But yes, i made a community for Otep, I need people, join if you like her its- tortured_tric |
