Jewish Nationalism: new community

Jewish nationalism (JN) holds that the optimal structure of the Jewish nation around the world is a decentralised network of democratically run, armed, secular communities of kinsmen. Thus it is based on four principles:

Kinship, Democracy, Defence, Secularism.

New Parsha Community
I wanted to mention a community I started for discussing the torah portion every week. It's called weeklytorah, and I hope lots of you will be interested in it. Good Shabbos, everyone!

ianglo: Livejournal's answer to groups like Janglo, Taanglo, Hanglo, Banglo, Manglo, Aaanglo, Eanglo, Raananglo, and I could probably go on forever, but I'll spare you. Guess what the "I" stands for?

It can also work as an alternative to Flathunting.

This group is for English-speakers in Israel who have questions/answers/offers about random day-to-day things, any kinds of facilities in different towns, jobs, apartments, I-need-a-place-for-Shabbos, events, etc.

An advantage of using LJ over Yahoo!Groups is that if someone has the same question as you, you can just look at the comments on that person's entry, instead of posting "Me too" so that people will email the answer to you.

(You don't have to be living in Israel, or even English-speaking, to join, but it'll probably be most useful to people who are at least one of the above.)

Interfaith arts & crafts comm
I've just created ritual_art, an interfaith community for those who do arts, crafts and jewellery-making with a religious or spiritual aspect, for instance crocheting kippot or making tzitzit. For more details, see the user info. I look forward to seeing you there!

I've just found a Dry Bones feed
Dry Bones (Israeli comic strip in English) - drybonesblog
I'm the second reader so I assume it hasn't been advertised excessively.

Also, jewishicons for Jewish-themed LJ icons.

One cool Jewish community I know of is Jewish Connection. It is like a Jewish myspace. You can make a profile to date, make friends, join clubs, look for jobs, and post events. There is a lot to do there and a lot of people are joining, so it is getting really popular.

New Community

Hi, I'm Matt.  While not Jewish at all, I have recently felt very interested in their culture due to the rising popularity of the Hasidic Reggae singer Matisyahu.  I have started a Matisyahu community for those interested in discussion of this artist or any other Jewish/Middle Eastern musicians.

I am very receptive to ideas and starving for music and culture to absorb.  Thank you for your time!

mod, feel free to delete if promos are not allowed
hey, I don't know if promos are allowed, so I'll keep it short.

I am the mod of the community klezmercult and it is a wonderful place where anyone who likes any kind of Jewish or even other religious music can come together and share your love of it. Klezmer music is fun fast music and dancing and partying. Klezmer music is pretty and hot and awesome. If you play clarinet, violin, cello, viola, accordian, percussion, or piano you should check it out!
