I smiled today when I signed onto FACEBOOK to find that my 75-year-old mother now has an account too !

someone told me that apparently "I was the talk of the company Christmas party" at her table on Saturday.

At the party, I was presented with '25 years of Service Award' and had to walk up to the podium to receive it ...

"I barely look 25, how in the world could I have been working for 25 years?!" ...

"I don't look like a VP ... so young and good looking."

(what does a VP look like?)

The WARNING post that I posted today was an actual email that I received from someone. I decided to send it to a co-worker for fun.

This afternoon, I got a few comments about "Oh you're still here?"
Why wouldn't I still be here, not quitting time yet.
"I heard you left for the day."

Why would they think this? and where was this coming from.

Answer was found out when I spoke to the "co-worker" who I sent the joke to ... she said, Oh I thought you said good-bye ... I had to laugh out loud!

My reply to her was .. Oh no, the aliens haven't arrived yet!

OMG some people are very dense.
It's a shame to waste a good joke on them if you have to "explain it!"

I was bored tonight a took a look at my corkboard where i have pictures and things that i really like tacked up on my wall and i saw the page mimi wrote about me for her scrapbook. she gave me a copy and i put it up a long time ago, and i reread it tonight. it was really nice. it made me happy, i just had to smile. i love mimi!

A lonely woman, aged 70, decided that it was time to get married.
She put an ad in the local paper that read:

HUSBAND WANTED!
MUST BE IN MY AGE GROUP (70's),
MUST NOT BEAT ME,
MUST NOT RUN AROUND ON ME,
AND MUST STILL BE GOOD IN BED!
ALL APPLICANTS PLEASE APPLY IN PERSON.

On the second day, she heard the doorbell. Much to her dismay, she opened the door to see a gray - haired gentleman sitting in a wheel chair. He had no arms or legs.

The old woman said, "You're not really asking me to consider you, are you?
Just look at you....you have no legs!"

The old man smiled, "Therefore I cannot run around on you!"
She snorted. "You don't have any hands either!"
Again the old man smiled, "Nor can I beat you!"
She raised an eyebrow and gazed intently. "Are you still good in bed?"

With that, the old gentleman leaned back, beamed a big broad smile and
said "I rang the doorbell, didn't I?"

on Monday, August 14th.

We went over to give him a gift and a cake that I baked especially for him and his siblings ... they were all so happy ... jumping up and down and chanting "cake, cake" when I walked in the door.

It made me smile to see Nathan so happy with all the attention ... it was "all about him" and he was just loving it !

No one smiles anymore.

Today as I was driving to work along Jane Street, I noticed (Peripheral vision) that there was a police car driving next to mine. We were sitting at a light and I could see that he was looking over at my car. The light turned and I drove off, with him driving alongside as well. Right at Jane and Alliance (kind of a hill), the light turned amber and I could have gone through, however, remembered the cop beside me so I came to a stop. I didn't want to take the chance ... despite popular opinion I am a relatively good driver.

We were sitting at the lights and I could feel the cop looking over at me .. when suddenly I hear his "alarm" going off. I looked over and he was motioning for me to roll down my window! YIKES! What did I do?

I rolled down the window, and with a nice smile on his face (nice face too), he asked me, "Are you Dan or Liz?" {For those who don't know this, my licence plates read DAN LIZ} I was shocked ... and answered, "What do you think?"

"Well," he said, "I don't know .. Dan could be short for Danielle?"
He had a point there ...
I sat in amazement at the fact that I was on my way to work, sitting at a light, talking to a cop who was obviously flirting with me:)

I said, "Yes, you're right there .. but no, I'm not Dan .. I'm Liz."

He said, "You know that you could have gone through on that light .. and you probably would have if I wasn't driving next to you"

I told him that I was thinking about it but didn't want to take any chances because I noticed at the previous light that he was looking over at my car.

His response, "Yes, I noticed your plates and was trying to think of something funny to say."

The light (which seemed to take forever to turn green) finally turned and we both wished each other a good day and drove off.

Flirting ~ I wonder what all the other vehicles behind me thought was happening?
