Dead Beautiful, Weavette Square

Hello! How are you? I hope you are all well!

I have some shots of my handspun, weavette square pockets I'm making for the tomten. (The blue tomten is shown in the previous post) I spun the yarn super thin, because weavettes like thin yarn.

Next up, I just have to share this amazing artist I saw on Current TV, Polly Morgan. She works with deceased animals so if you think you will be offended please do not watch the video. All animals have been donated by pet owners or natural or otherwise unpreventable deaths. I think the animals are displayed in such an angelic way, I never thought I could like taxidermy, but this is immortalized artwork. Their lives have been preserved and cherished in such a special way. I can't help it, she takes my breath away! Gorgeous!

Keep it Knitty!

Hail, Braids, Pressies, WWKIPD

Hello Everyone!

The weather has been pleasant lately, but last week we had a little storm. Octavian and I watched the sky start raining, and then turn to hail, and back to rain from his bedroom window. So relaxing and unusual. There were lots of healthy leaves on the ground from the hailstorm and I was especially attracted to all of the bright spring green ones. I took some pictures of them on our way home from market. Special touches of nature in the city.

Zoey is home with us for a while, which make me so happy. I braided her hair into buns, my favorite hairstyle for her. I'm so proud of the parts in this particular set of buns! Perfect! I must have been in the zone. Maggie French has given me a ton of her special hair clips, and they look so cute in Zoey's buns! Please go check out Maggie's new hair fascinators in her etsy shop.

I was so proud to send her off to school for the first time today. It was a big day for me! Exciting! (Normally, we don't get to take her to school)

I also got.. a... blackberry for my birthday. I got a blackberry. It fits perfectly in the little purse Jamie sent me with my new loom! (Oh my, pics of loom + other pressies soon I promise!) Well, thanks for the pretty pink Blackberry Curve, Gregpa. I'm in love with her.

My knitting is still going strong! I'm nearing the end of the tomten. I'm on the fun parts. I just finished spinning the yarn for the other pocket and icord, have to knit the hood, sew in a zipper. Then I'll be done! More info my my tomten progress here.
