27th-Aug-2011 08:17 pm - Round 2A and 2B and Round 2

Hey guys, just gonna post up this message for those who haven't seen anything yet about the latest news for the HSO competition.

First of all Round 2 is finishing up TONIGHT at 11:59, after that - that's it. I haven't heard of anyone making a submission for this particular round; so I don't know if we have any entries or not. I'll try to make one submission tonight; hopefully I got the theme correct.

For quick info here it is:
Subject: INSIGHT: Shedding New Light on Canon
Requirements
Fic/meta must be 800-3000 words*
Art must be at least 600x800px.
Vids must be over 45 seconds.
Fanmixes must be over 10 songs, or longer than 35 minutes.

As for the Extra Rounds:
Round 2A:
Here’s how this is going to work: somebody will submit a selection of 3-6 songs without comment. Then somebody else will come along and create a companion fanwork to fit the soundtrack!
Round 2B:
In this round, you'll be prompting one another to create things that are NOT text or graphics or fanmixes. Cosplay, batterwitch creations, lovingly carved soap sculptures, papercraft...practically anything goes, as long as it fits a prompt. If you're unsure about whether something counts or not, just ask!

Hey guys, just wanted to inform you that two of our members are leaving this group.
Mr_Russo due to inactivity will promptly leave the group, if there is no sign of participation or communication from the user.
Due to circumstances, Feferii will also be leaving.

Thankfully the mods have graciously allowed us to allow one more member to keep the standard number of members for a group.

15th-Aug-2011 08:19 pm - Round 2! Insight!

Here's the basic summary of the post:

In this round, we’re asking you to explore the canonical universe and flesh it out a little. There are plenty of ways to make this work, even if your ship isn’t canon (or not canon yet!); the important part is that it be set in and focused on the Homestuck universe as it is presented.

Requirements
Fic/meta must be 800-3000 words*
Art must be at least 600x800px.
Vids must be over 45 seconds.
Fanmixes must be over 10 songs, or longer than 35 minutes.
If you come up with anything else, or any combination of the above, we are trusting you to be able to gauge how much you can handle and be sensible!
If you are submitting photos of things, please try to make sure they are decently clear/well-lit! We will not be doing image/color correction for you, and it will not be our fault if people can't make out what your submission is. Also, we suggest but do not require that you submit 3-5 photos of whatever it is from different angles, just so we can get a better look at it!

Please remember not to post your R2 creations publicly whether or not they are chosen as part of the team submission. We would like to keep things as anonymous as possible!

*As of this writing, the poll seems split more or less 50/50 on whether or not to extend the limit. We’re tentatively going to say that the limit remains firm, but the penalties for going over 3k words will be reduced in the following manner:
3000-3050: no penalty (to allow for disparities in wordcount software)
3051-3150: -30 points
3151-3250: -60 points
etc.

I don't think this has become a problem for my team, but I just want to warn everyone to please not post any of your submissions on tumblr or any other blogging site until voting has ended (ends AUG 12th 11:59PM). This is to avoid bias, and promote anonymity, and has become a concern to the moderators.

Thanks :U

If you guys have any questions talk to me, please: chewy.mango@hotmail.com

ALSO, we need to talk about the collaborative round soon! Post here, or join us online. I'll make a group chat when I see there's enough members online.
