Bring back "Copy URL" in blob right-click context menu (regression) #9115

Closed

Description

@Trevor818

Problem

In version 1.44.0, the "Copy URL" option is no longer available in the right-click context menu for blobs. This was a core productivity feature and is used frequently in workflows. Removing it forces users to go through the Properties pane, which adds multiple extra clicks and slows down common tasks significantly. This feels like a regression in usability rather than an intentional improvement.

Desired Solution

Please restore "Copy URL" to the blob right-click context menu (and ideally also the toolbar).

    Please bring back the "Copy URL" option to the blob right-click context menu. I use this feature frequently and rely on it for my workflow.

    Yes, please bring this back. Needing to open the properties pane, then put focus in the blob URL textbox, then manually highlight to copy, and then close the properties pane, is far too many steps for something as simple and basic and core of a functionality as this.

    Another vote for bringing back "Copy URL" - bit puzzled why it was removed in the first place!

    Is anyone from Microsoft monitoring this issue?

    I have not seen any movement on this request since submitting it last week. Craig Alvord (@craxal) - are you able to give us any further insight into why the feature was removed and if there are any plans on bringing it back? Thanks!
