    This behavior occurs when tray is disabled. With the tray enabled, copyq --start-server works as expected. Thus, the likely origins of this issue are 6385cc6, 0b821f0, and ea10c34.

    This is expected, so users can activate the app if there is no tray. You can change the behavior by enabling option "Hide main window" in Layout.

    This also happens with hide main window option enabled

    @hluk I have "Hide main window" enabled in Layout.

    People who rely on keyboard shortcuts (e.g. binding copyq show to a key) are more likely to disable the tray. Also, if I wanted to start the server and show a window, I'd simply use copyq.

    Furthermore, this problem occurs only in 15.0.0. I did not see any mention of related changes in the changelog.

    Since the "Hide main window" option doesn't work, there is a bug. Please reopen the issue.

    Yes @hluk this is a bug in terms for window manager users as when the autostart is enabled the main window pops up no matter the options. So please do reopen the issue.

    I think I found a temporary fix? This has been bugging me for a WHILE so I hope it gets re-opened fixed! What I did was write this into the autostart section of hyprland.conf:

    exec-once = [workspace special:magic silent] copyq --start-server

    It's worked so far for me so I hope it proves useful to other

    My workaround is to just hide it immediately:

    exec-once = copyq --start-server && copyq hide

    Fixed in #3573.

    I think copyq --start-server hide could work as well.
