[AW Top 10] 04 Fix safe output conformance drift in handlers and docs #71584
Four conformance findings show safe output handlers and tool descriptions drifting from the specification: an out-of-sync comment-limit regex, a missing constraints section in the add_comment description, handlers throwing errors without standardized codes, and staged-mode guards that give no visible preview notice.
Implementation scope
Update the safe output conformance checks and the affected handlers in one change: align the enforceCommentLimits regex with the implementation, add the constraints and important sections to the add_comment tool description, use standardized error codes in the eight listed handlers, and emit the staged-mode preview notice in the two guards that lack it.
Done when
The conformance checker reports no TYPE-016, MCE-001, USE-001 or USE-003 findings after the change.
Unit tests cover the standardized error codes and the staged-mode preview notice for the updated handlers.
Compiled workflows are regenerated and unchanged except for the intended tool description update.
Why now
The findings come from one conformance audit run, are directly checkable against current code, and each has a small local fix that together keep the safe output contract consistent for every workflow. Impact is moderate because the drift is mostly diagnostic and documentation quality.
No corroborating AW discussion; evidence comes from the source issues.
Unchanged AW sources close only after this summary is completed. Newer source activity and not-planned retirement do not trigger source closure. Assigned summaries are frozen; unassign to allow reclustering.
