Suggestion: support Window manipulation (XTWINOPS) like resizing a window to a give width / height  #1115

Closed

Description

@erf

As mentioned in the following document under (Window manipulation) :
https://invisible-island.net/xterm/ctlseqs/ctlseqs.html

This is supposedly supported on xterm, but not aware of any macOS terminals supporting this at the moment.

I originally found this on stackexchange : https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/33736/can-a-terminal-window-be-resized-with-a-terminal-command#47841 where he mention a command for setting the window with/size using:

printf '\e[8;50;100t'

I think it would be interesting to be able to resize my terminal editor size as a command.

    Hm, I've seen these but never spent a lot of time considering whether we should add them. I think like OSC 52 if these are added they should be configurable probably (default off I'd expect, the harmful/annoying vectors of this seem very high).

    I'm not fully approving this yet but just thinking about it, hence the needs-confirmation tag.

    I'm going to say for now I don't want to implement these. I will eventually because I do want to support all the sequences xterm supports, but I think #601 is a better future for now.
