Audible ping not working as expected

Issue Description

When running ping -a 8.8.8.8 only the first ping creates a bell sound

Expected Behavior

Every successful ping should trigger the bell

Actual Behavior

Only the first ping triggers the bell

1. Open Ghostty
2. enable bell-features = system
3. Run ping -a 8.8.8.8
4. listen

Ghostty doesn't trigger this, your system does.

Yeah, I played with this earlier today and something does not want to play audio bells very frequently. Happens with bell-features=audio as well. Not sure if it's GTK/Gnome rate limiting stuff or what as especially with bell-features=system we're just sending a signal to the DE to play a notification.

Hmm, actually this kinda seems like something related to pipewire. If you open up helvum or some other tool for monitoring pipewire you can occasionally see Ghostty showing up as an audio source. When it does, you hear the beep. So it seems as if the it's taking pipewire too long to set up before the audio is done playing and you never hear anything.
