Row vertical alignment breaks when in column #45848

Closed

Description

Description

The row-block vertical alignment settings do nothing when the row is placed inside a column.

Step-by-step reproduction instructions

  1. Add a columns block with 2 columns (in my case this lives inside a fullwidth group block with layout constrained).
  2. Place a row inside. In that row, add a paragraph (with one word), click +, add heading h1 (with one word).
  3. The row now has two children: a heading and a paragraph to easiliy demonstrate the size different and alignment change.
  4. Click the row, set 'vertical alignment' to bottom. Save post.
  5. Go front end, see that vertical alignment setting is not applied.

    @mrfoxtalbot

    Thank you for reporting this @Humanify-nl. I might not be following the steps correctly, but I seem unable to reproduce this.

    This is what my setup looks like:

    I have tested this with Twenty Twenty-Two & Twenty Twenty-Three and both seem to work as expected in the front end:

    I am using WP 6.1.1 and this seems to be the case with and without the Gutenberg plugin (Version 14.5.4)

    Could you please share a screenshot of what you are seeing on your end?

    @Humanify-nl - just looping back to this older issue - do you still see this happening in the latest version of Gutenberg?
