genderpac

The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition is pleased to announce the release of its 2008 GENIUS Survey in partnership with Ernst & Young. GenderPAC works to ensure that classrooms, communities and workplaces are safe for everyone to learn, grow and succeed.

The Gender Equality National Index for Universities & Schools (GENIUS), GenderPAC’s most recent effort to end discrimination and promote awareness, encourages colleges and universities to recognize the benefits of a GenderSAFE^tm campus - supportive equitable and protective for all students. Choosing to participate in GENUIS sends a strong public statement that bullying or discriminating based on the race, sex or gender of a student, faculty, or staff member is not tolerated at your institution

Fill out the survey at: www.gpac.org/GENIUS2008survey, and make sure that we have data for as many schools as possible. Your voice will help us continue to work towards a safe and welcoming environment for every student.

While we greatly appreciate the interest taken in GENIUS by students, staff and faculty at academic institutions outside of the United States, at this time GENIUS is only able to track schools based in the United States.

Collection drive for the victims of the Tivoli fire

[10 Jun 2007|12:14pm]

badmonkey77

There was a pretty bad fire at Tivoli Apartments last night, destroying several units. According to reports, more than 30 UCF students lost their homes and belongings. Gamma Sigma Sigma is holding a drive to collect items to help those affected. In addition to the usual items like clothing and household items, we are particularly looking for donations of gift cards to places like Target/Walmart, Publix, and bookstores.

Items can be dropped off at a collection box located around campus, or with any member of Gamma Sigma Sigma.

Please ask your friends, family, and neighbors for donations. Spread the word about this, and ask as many people as possible to donate, as we really want this drive to be a success.

Thanks!

Gamma Sigma Sigma is a national service sorority, founded in 1952 on the ideals of Service, Friendship and Equality. Membership is non-selective, which means that people choose to join Gamma Sigma Sigma, rather than the sorority choosing who may become members. Anyone who is genuinely interested in service is welcome to join, even if you are already a member of a social sorority, or another campus service group. Since our colony's establishment at UCF, we have completed over 1130 service hours

If you are interested in rushing Gamma Sigma Sigma in Fall 2007, or just want more information about Gamma Sig come to our Spring Pre-Rush. Meet the colony members and learn about the sorority (history, traditions, service, etc).

Cunt

[02 Feb 2007|11:50pm]

nephos

Why do people find the word "cunt" so offensive?

Many people who are not offended by "fuck" feel differently about cunt.

And I'm not doing this as an excuse to type "cunt" on the internet. I say cunt all the time; eg. "Mother dear, make me a sandwich you wretched cunt."

Hello.......

[11 Jan 2007|11:41pm]

darielsdove

I have to do a short project for my Nutritional Anthropology class on Wednesday. Write a 2-3 page paper on an assigned research topic. My Question?

SO DIFFERENT ETHNICITIES HAVE DIFFERENT FAVORITE ICE CREAM FLAVORS?

I'm trying to see how effective web communities are at gathering statistics (loose ones, we're on the honor system here). So.... if you could do me a favor and please comment with your ethnicity and favorite ice cream flavor, it would be INCREDIBLY appreciated. Thank you so much. Also, if you want to be REALLY helpful, you could include other Orlando or UCF related communities where I might post this. You don't have to tho. THANKS AGAIN!!!
