It's been such a busy time I have not had time to write a post for a while.
THe kittens are growing SO fast I can hardly keep up with them, and I am amazed at how far they have come. They're eating solids, using the litter tray and exploring every inch of the house.
I know they will be with me only a short time longer, and since Cat Haven is at capacity I am sure a new brood will quickly follow. They are pleading for more foster carers, so today I thought I would write a bit about what fostering means to me.
Firstly, I see it as a priviledge, not a chore. Yes, there is added work, frustration, inconvenience and yes, sadness, but for me the good stuff outweighs the bad.
I am lucky enough to see the kittens achieve those really big milestones like opening their eyes, getting teeth, eating solids and learning to use the tray. I see their first exploration of the the world around them and have the immense priviledge and responsibility of forming their first attitude to humans. I get to watch them romp and play, and NOTHING beats coming home after a hard day to have them greet me and climb into my lap for a sleep (yes, all 5 at once at the moment)!
When I know they have been adopted, it is such a happy day, because I know that they are alive because I could foster them, and managed to do a good enough job bringing them up that they are someone's perfect pet.
Do I get sad and cry when I have to give them back? Absolutely. That's quickly wiped out, though, by hearing the adoption news. Do I get frustrated when they make a mess on the floor or I need to take them in and wait around for another weigh in? Yes, of course. But I quickly forget about all that when I am playing with them or they are snuggled in for a nap.
Some people have said I am crazy or "a martyr" for doing this, I say I am the lucky one.

Oh, I was right, it was not long to wait, and yes, I have a new brood!
We have Mum (Bella) and her gorgeous litter of 5 - 3 boys and a 2 girls! So without further ado let me introduce:

Poirot! A snuggly little guy who loves to climb on you for a cuddle.

Gypsy! Curious and loves to lean on your leg.

Tiger! A little shy but if you show him attention, he loves it!

Sooty! A bit lazy and loves to sleep, but is also a big sook.

Lollipop! A real sweetie who will be a lap cat for sure.

And of course proud mum Bella who has not stopped purring since she arrived.
They are 3 weeks old and already really, really active. So glad to have them with me!!!

Oh my goodness, what a long time since I have posted!
Not much has been happening, as it's not quite kitten season yet. Just been chillin with my own gorgeous girls, and enjoying the time with my own special family.
I have moved into a gorgeous new place, and we have slowly been getting settled in. What a change for us...

My girls have been SO good they even got a present!

With all this extra room, I am looking forward to my foster families this season.
In the mean time, Molly continues to get more and more vocal when she wants something, and Allie has become a lazy thing, snuggling in bed most the day.
That's about all to tell for now, as the weather heats up and kitten season gets rolling, I'm sure there will be action soon!

Livvie... What can I say? She is a supermum! She has been the most attentive, awsome mum to the kittens, and no one knows how many of the 6, if any, were actually hers. She has treated them as her own, they only have to make a sound and she is there. She has given her all to the kittens and then some. Livvie is not only an incredible mum, but the most placid, loving cat you could ever hope for. She craves affection, and has a purr that can raise the roof! What a cat!
Yindi, undisputed leader of the pack in every way! First to try everything, from the litter tray tom solid food. He also is the heaviest kitten over Sebastian by a small margin. He is a gorgeous, big sook, and loves a pat and cuddle. He's super playful and adventurous, and can be found getting up to all kinds of mischief. If there is something to explore, climb, chase or look at, he'll be there.
The rollypolliest kitten you ever saw! He has the nickname of Sumo Boy, and put on a whopping 150g in one week! He is absolutely sweet, and loves to have his tummy tickled. He loves to rough and tumble with Yindi, and is almost always first at the foodbowl.
He loves to cuddle in your lap or be quietly held, and I have no doubt he will make someone an awsome lap cat!
Midnight is often to be found right behind her big brother Yindi. She is a sweetie and loves a pet or a cuddle, which is often rewarded with a purr. She is out to prove she can mix it with the boys and often joins in the rough and tumble! She is really inquisitive, and is into everything, especially if Yindi can do it.
Tonight I bring you the first of the profiles on my 6 kittens... Farnsy!
He is my little smooch, always by my side. He is really vocal, and quick to howl if he wants attention or is not happy. He's really adventurous and was the first one to climb... In fact he is obsessed with the garbage bin and keeps climbing in it!
Farnsy loves cuddles and attention, and will be a lap cat for SURE!

She is fine, was being sterelized, microchipped and vaccinated... She's home and tottering around as she's still groggy, but doing fine :)
