This past June I was asked to be in a friend's wedding, and she presented each of her potential bridemaids with an awesome "asking gift". She made us tote bags, considering favorite colors/personalities when choosing the outer & inner fabric, bought us the "Everything Bridesmaid" book & made ribbon bookmarks for each of us, had a candle set in the wedding colors, homemade cookies & soap, a notepad & a flower pen. Also, she made us a cd rom called "Meet the Maids" for everyone to know each other better, which included a photo collage. She also printed off cards with a poem. Now, I know that I in no way can rival this. I'm trying to be realistic. I kind of have a theme for my September 2007 wedding, apples. However, I'm not sure how totally I want to incorporate that yet. I think my color will be claret, but still, nothing is known yet. I bought medium/small sized gift bags that are wedding themed, blank notecards that are pearly & purple-pink-green, and Tinkerbell wands from the little kid party favor section(I <3 Tink). I also bought some sets of wedding stickers. I also found the Wilton glass "love potion" place card holder bottles. These are the things that I want to use, so far. But I definitely need more ideas, as the items I have would fit into a large organza favor bag. So, does anyone have any great ideas as to what else I should include? Has anyone else made or received anything when asking bridesmaids? My main problem is that I need to have everything put together by December 26th, as one of my bridesmaids will be moving two time zones away on the 27th. Two more go back to grad school and work at a college early in January, and I start my new semester of grad school in January so I'll have no time myself. Thanks lots to anyone who responds. <3 Miriam
