I've decided to hold the Writers' Club AGM sometime in the week after Easter. It is my dearest wish that everyone who is a Club member, or WANTS TO BE a club member, comes to this most important of meetings.

The AGM will most likely be Wednesday (26th March), Thursday (27th March), or Friday (28th March).

Stay Tuned for more Info!

Flinders E-mail is down for (most of) the weekend. :( [May. 26th, 2007|02:20 am]

I want my Flinders E-mail! *throws tantrum* *misses*

It's down until "late on Saturday evening (and possibly into Sunday if problems
arise)."

Grrr.

Luckily, I downloaded this message a few days ago, so it was sitting on my desktop, waiting to remind me of why my e-mail page wasn't loading. Here's the long version: "This is to remind all staff and students that network and central computing services will be unavailable from 5pm this Friday until late on Saturday evening (and possibly into Sunday if problems arise)."

*throws another tantrum* *misses e-mail*

*pout.*

Week 9. [May. 9th, 2007|12:30 am]

*blinks*

*blinks again*

Note to self: It is week 9 this week. Not last week. Not next week. Next week will be week 10. Last weelk was week 8.

This week is week 9.

*blink, blink*

*feels lost and disconnected*

I have been ill (for about 4 weeks), and am *still* struggling to catch up. That's why I feel so lost and disconnected. I actually though Last Week was week 9! That's how lost I've been. :S
I have also 'burned out' at least 3 times in 3 years... including now. I am *at burnout* yet again. And I'm sure not coping this time!

But, the week 9 prac is coming up (tommorrow). I need to make sure I bring my consent form and my thongs (for in-water wear), as well as my text books, but otherwise I think I'm getting back on track. Finally! :)

I am also attempting to finish a piece of writing for English tonight. It's been a long time, so I need some refresher-reading time, to get back into the flow of the piece again. If possible.

I swear, I'm not trying to be pessimistic, but I'm weeks behind, and catching up's going to be a bitch. I also have an essay to write, and a Launch to finish organising (and make brownies for, set up, and go to, and clear up, and ... eventually start planning the new one! But that, at least, can wait until the essay is done. And caught up with ALL my work.)

I will probably start (fully) planning the 2nd Launch in July (Mid-year break), when I don't have to contend with class times, assignments, dosing my cat, looking after the household... I am SO looking forward to just being a student again (in 2 weeks, yay!), not having to organise everything for everyone else. It is time, and past time. I want to be able to think again! My head is so jammed full of things to remember, that I am not really able to work properly. I am at about 25% capacity (MAXimum!) for work, when it should be (at the very least) 85%! (BPD is a real bitch.)

*coughs* *wants to drag self off to bed*

So, here I am, about to stare at the computer screen, trying to figure out what to write, to make a place seem more desirable to go visit. *sigh* it's not gonna be easy, even tho' the place is beautiful, peaceful, and colourful.

*bigger sigh*

Well, back to it, I suppose.

*wanders off into procrastinating writing mode*

The Grapefruit Garden is one of my favorite places in all the world! There's even a story, written about me and my friends, and set there!

[Current Location |NOT SS South!! Not Ever Again!!!]

Hi, Y'all. I have had bad dealings with a lecturer in Social Sciences South. Meanness and Harshness and UNconstructive Criticism (which is against University policy!) and f**kwittery. Just a warning to y'all out there: Be careful if you decide to take "LAMS1001". Just wish very much that the lecturer likes you. Otherwise, you will be discriminated (I was FALSELY accused of plagiarism, by a lecturer/tutor. UNFAIR!!!) against like I have been.

(BTW: DISCRIMINATION is AGAINST THE LAW. So are FALSE ACCUSATIONS!)<-- Something Lecturers and Students alike should keep in mind!!

Angrily, FlUni Girl. >:(

P.S. The actions of one particular lecturer have turned me off the entire subject. Way to go, teach. Way to make people learn... NOT!!!

Does anyone else at an Adelaide university have Swot/Vac this semester? Does it still exist? [Oct. 31st, 2006|11:10 pm]

~ I don't have swot/vac this semester. Does anyone?? I mean, I have 4 assignments to get in this week (by Monday 6th November), and then a fifth to work on from Monday, for a week (due in on Monday 13th November, before 4pm)... Now, to all you out there who don't currently go to University, it is week 13 at the moment. Week 14 (next week) is supposed to be swot/vac (study vacation, before exams start). Then exam week 1 starts on Monday 13th November... when I will be submitting my week-long take-home exam for assessment! Does this seem weird to any of you out there?? I (and all the people in my 'Crime Fiction and Film' class, at Flinders University) will have finished my exam before anyone else starts theirs!! We don't even get any time off to study!!! WRONG!! Just wrong, I tell you!! >:(

Okay, enough of that rant. Is anyone else in this city is suffering from no-time-to-study-itis?

:)

~ I am currently writing a tute paper, tute talk, and essay on deforestation in Latin America. Deforestation is a very bad thing!! I would like to submit the assignments on recycled paper, just to make a point, but, sadly, people would just ignore the gesture/it probably won't change anything. The uni system is nothing if not verybadfortheenvironment! 'Double spacing' uses up more paper! So does 'only write on one side of the paper'! Grrr. *stalks off to go hug a (still-living) tree*

~ Does anyone know where the quote "Those Who Forget Are Doomed To Repeat The Past" came from? I'm using it in my tute talk tomorrow, but now I'm all curious! If you know, PLEASE tell me!

P.S. Happy Halloween, everyone!
