It's Puzzle TIME! 02/14/19

A super quick post today...

Well do you remember a few weeks ago when I completed this awesome puzzle?

Blazing with Color

At that time I mentioned that I was trying to decide what to do with it. Well Tia (my daughter) had an idea for this puzzle and wanted it and she decided to make it into a clock!

I think it came out great and it is hanging in the "craft/sewing/laundry room.

Thanks for stopping by,
see ya next time I'm puzzled!

Craft Day

Don't know how I forgot to mention that Jacob and I had craft time together on Saturday!

Tia (his mom) makes him an Advent calendar every year with different Christmas activities for each day. Saturday was make Christmas decorations!  Tia had to work so I got to share the fun time with him.

I was inspired by Justine's post last week of her two son's popsicle stick ornaments and went looking on Pinterest for ideas.  I showed Jacob the pictures and let him get busy.

and this is the end result!

He made a snowman, a Santa hat and a reindeer (which he combined) and a Nativity scene.

I think he did a great job and they will be great keepsakes for when he grows up.

Thanks for stopping by,
see ya next time!

Card Holder for Little Hands

We have lots of Family Game Nights in this house.  Sometimes it is the Wii and some times board games and card games. Jacob has such a hard time holding his cards in his hand so that he can see everything and at the same time - not show everyone else what he has!  Sometimes it gets frustrating for all of us...

I saw something like this on the internet at Making It Feel Like Home and thought it would save us ALL lots of headaches! :)

I eat LOTS of oatmeal so I used two of the plastic lids
I just laid them on top of each other with the flat sides together.  Put in about 3 staples going across right under the middle of the circle.  Then I glued the lids together - both at the staples and under them down to the edge of the lid.

Then I glued some paper on the lids because of the staples. Didn't want Jacob getting "poked" or more likely - pulling them out!
And VIOLA - we are ready for the next game night; probably this weekend!
Who knew something so simple would work wonders

Penguins

Just wanted to show off Jacob's Penguin ornaments.
I think they turned out pretty cute!

We had a little trouble with the girl
and I may have to fix her a bit later.

Thanks for taking a peek at them :)

Craft Day Today

So a couple of weeks ago we went to the second hand
store where I got these two bracelets for $1.

This morning I got up and cut up a comic book

Then I gathered up all these supplies
and waited for Jacob to get up!

And we made these SUPER HERO cuffs!

First we Mod Podge the bracelet.
Then we applied the pictures of the superheros.
Then we covered the pictures with Mod Podge to seal and "glue" them down.

Now we have a super hero in the
house with some powerful cuffs!

They are a little big for him
but he likes them!

Close up of the smaller one

Close up of the bigger one

This was a fun and easy project and
we had lots of fun making them...
now to find more bracelets to make some more!

Family Fun

This week Jacob and I experimented with some
spray tie-dye and this was our first creation!

We had lots of fun making the shirt but we put
the letters on to late for them to spell his words
but with trial and error we know
better for the next project!

Other Crafts!

I was browsing Pinterest (one of my NEW favorite places on the internet) when I saw this nifty little pen holder and decided that I would make a couple for the side of our freezer where we keep our menu and shopping list.

It was soooo easy to make and since we already had everything on hand it didn't cost me a thing!

We used a Command Strip to attach it to the side of the freezer and it is working marvelously!

Then I went to a craft night at a library in our area and we made this beautiful Woven Heart :)

It was simple to make and I ♥ this heart!

Movies and Books!

I know...it has been a while! :) I am still here. Just busy, busy, busy!

Still reading away. On book #26 of 2010! You can follow all the titles at GoodReads (the link is in the left column). My goal is 100 for the year ;) Between reading them and listening to them ~ I think it is totally do-able!

Also we are still watching lots of movies on the weekends too... Can't say we have seen anything really spectacular lately - besides Princess and the Frog. That was a cute one!

Anyways ~ I started on a baby blanket for my brother and his
wife. They are expecting a girl in August. The blanket I am currently making is just a big granny square in two shades of green and a cream color. I picked this combination because they are both Irish. This is how much I have so far ~ not very much! But hopefully I will get a lot more finished on it this week cuz I only have a MILLION other things I would LOVE to make for the baby! LOL - now to just have ALL the time I would need to do all I want to...

Today was Easter...we had a wonderful family day :) This is my handsome grandson getting ready to go to church this morning. He is doing his superhero pose! :) His Alter-Ego, who he made up...is
00 Dino the Super Hero! He is a Dinosaur crazy kid who has plans to be a palentologist when he grows up and he can name almost every dinosaur he sees. My daughter took him to meet a palentologist and you would have thought he was in heaven! The Palentologist was probably the best person he has ever met!

Well until the next time...take care and God bless you!

Movies and Books!

Crafting...
I am starting on a baby blanket for my brother and his wife…they are expecting their first baby in August. It is just going to be a simple crochet pattern. They don’t know if it will be a boy or girl so I am just making it a neutral color.

I will certainly be HAPPY when I have more time to craft; seems like I always have so much to do or am to tired to do anything!

MOVIES
During the past few weeks the movies we saw were:
1. All About Steve
2. Tale of Desperaux
3. Weather Girl – very cute
4. Up – Love this one… it is a MUST SEE
5. Penguins of Madagascar – ok ~ my grandson liked it
6. Answer Man
7. Time Traveler’s Wife – good movie!
8. Beyond A Reasonable Doubt

BOOKS
Currently reading Edge of Evil (Ali Reynolds #1) by J.A. Jance. I am reading this one kinda out of order since I have already read Cruel Intent (Ali Reynolds, #4) and just finished Trial by Fire: A Novel of Suspense (Ali Reynolds, #5). I LOVE these books and plan on reading some of her other series when I am thru with this one.

I am also listening to I, Alex Cross (Alex Cross, #16) by James Patterson.

Just finished reading Mania by Craig Larsen – It was pretty good…

I also listened to Fade Away and One False Move both by Harlan Coben.

Finished reading John Grisham's Ford County which I totally enjoyed!

Pencil Case

Crafting...

I am still working on the plastic canvas pencil case for Jacob. Doesn't take long to do it...it is just finding the time to work on it!

This is how much I have done so far.

I hope to have it ready to put together this weekend!

2010 WIPs

I currently have many WIPs to complete and I hope to make 2010 the YEAR OF THE FINISH!

I have loads of things started going back quite a few years and need to prioritize these projects and get them finished so I can get some of my millions of "NEW" projects started!

At the moment I am stitching a Snowman ornament kit from Janlyn and I am making my grandson; Jacob a pencil case out of plastic canvas. He LOVES to "write/draw" and is always carrying pens and pencils everywhere he goes. He can't leave the house with out them but he is always losing them...so I thought that Grandma should make him an easy to carry case for him to use.

I am TOTALLY NEW to blogging so please bare with me as I learn and hopfully it (I) will get better as I go.

Thanks ;)
