Hello folks,
So a topic that comes up periodically in my life and in the lives of many friends of Freya I know is that of colors.
What colors do we associate with Freya? Do those colors vary depending on which aspects of Freya are involved? Are these colors seasonal? Symbolic? Just really pretty?
Also, what is Freya's coloring? Her hair? Her eyes? Her skin? Does She look like a reflection of yourself, or your culture? Does She always appear the same, or does Her appearance vary? If Her coloring varies, does it vary by season, aspect, mode of encounter, or what?

Hello, I joined a week or so ago (possibly longer) and have just remembered to check LJ and politely do the intro thing.
Real/Given Name: Cat
Heathen/Pagan Name: Don't have one but sometimes go by Birka online.
Current residence in Miðgarð: Germany
Patron Deity (if any): Wouldn't say any of them are patron deities but I have a very very deep love for Freyja and a kind of love for Odin. However Freyja was my first love.
Religious/Spiritual Background: Grew up in a family of 'don't give a crap'ians - well, except for my father who is a spiritualist healer. Discovered Odin, Freyja and Baldur at the age of 12, went and got confirmed because of the promise of free wine underage and dropped it within a year. Decided to revert to my more instinctual beliefs, learned they were a form of Paganism. Freyja really made an impact when I was 17 and I continued on a witch path with a Freyja fascination. Two years later, I started to identify as a Heathen, Freyja disappeared for a while but now she's back in my life as a major force.
Type of Religious Practice: Nothing too crazy. The odd offerings, writing poems, Seidhr, singing and chanting.
Religious Community:My husband. Considering withdrawing completely from the rest of the Heathen community.

Hey! I joined a few days ago, but didn't have time to post an introduction because I've been busy with an exam. So here it goes:
Real/Given Name: Carmen
Heathen/Pagan Name: Don't have one
Current residence in Miðgarð: Romania, Europe
Patron Deity (if any): Can you have a Patron Deity if you're an Atheist? :)) I'm very fond of Loki and Freyja.
Religious/Spiritual Background: Well, I've always been at least Angostic if not an Atheist all together. I've been subjected to Christian influence, but it never ever made any sense. After becoming a radical Atheist a year and a half ago, a friend of mine told me the ancient Gods are still worshipped. I was very! surprised. My friend meant the Greek Pantheon, but because of my wonderings on the net, I came to the Norse Pantheon. The Norse Gods are much closer to my way of being. At least with Loki things clicked instantly.
Type of Religious Practice: I'd call it cultural more than religious per se. While I identify as an Atheist and answer to that label, Polytheism makes sense and fits my view of the world. I don't literally believe, i just have a strong cultural affinity.
Religious Community: My friends here on LJ
I am also very! fond of nature and cats.

Hi! I keep searching and searching for the right spiritual path for me. Freya has been very patient.
I had a strange dream last night. I dreamed I helped rescue hundreds of cats from an abandoned building. This was right after I started reading Gundarsson's Teutonic Religion. Was this from Freya?

In my own personal practice, there are some ritual duties Freyja has been discussing with me more and more, like creating a ritual cycle that reflects the lunar cycle and a woman's monthly menstruation. This idea leads me into other topics which I would like to discuss with everyone, but for now, I will ask:
How does Freyja relate to the lunar cycles for you? Do you have a practice involving Freyja that reflects the lunar cycle? In Norse mythology, the moon is male (Manni) - how does this affect Freyja's relationship to lunar cycles?
Please, discuss amongst yourselves.

For my senior project, I'm choreographing a dance for/about Freyja.
Do any of you have any music that reminds you of her?
Bonus points if it's instrumental or in a language the average college student doesn't understand.

Real/Given Name: Carmen.
Heathen/Pagan Name: Saevör.
Current residence in Miðgarð: A little apartment with my husband and 16 months old daughter in A Coruña, Galicia, Spain.
Patron Deity (if any): Njörd is my Patron, and Holda is a kind of Boss Lady.
Religious/Spiritual Background: I was raised Catholic until my teens, when I became an atheist. A lot of years later, when I was 27, I started to be involved with Magic and Paganism. I became an irish celtic pagan, with strong interest on Druidism (I made half of the Bard work from the OBOD). But then Freyja, Odin, Thor and a fourth God that I don't identified yet came to my life and showed me the way to Heathenry.
I didnt fit well on Ásatrú, and started to develope my own Vanir Way until I found that there were other Vanatrú on the world (thanks to Siggy XD).
Type of Religious Practice: I'm a Vanatrú Woo-type (I'm studying shamanistic practices with Loki Himself).
Religious Community: I'm one of the founders of Irmandade de Yggdrassil, a Heathen group based on Galicia (the Northwest corner from Spain); and a member of Ironwood Kindred (I think that everybody knows about them here).

*grin* That totally sounds like the Freya I know.…
Hey, at the end of the day, the real question is, what works?
