This community is a private space for personal photos, poetry, visual art, fiction, any and all artwork.
The moderator is hobbesthetiger; all memberships are approved through him.
The Rules:
*Everything here belongs to someone; either to the person posting it or to someone else who has been given appropriate recognition. Do not save, borrow, or steal without asking permission of the poster. This includes bandwidth.
*Each post is subject to critique. A critique is an honest opinion on a work, and thoughts to support that opinion.
Bad critiques: I like it. That’s pretty. You suck.
Good critiques: You did a great job using color to convey emotion. The 4th line has a lot of strong imagery. I really don’t understand the pig in the corner – what’s that about?
For the artist -- be prepared for both positive and negative comments. For those commenting -- Be civilized. Bad critiques, especially negative ones, may be deleted if they're too inappropriate.
*Personal Photos ARE allowed -- They are usually not art, but we're a community of friends and therefore we love to see pictures of eachother. Just please do not make your ONLY posts photos, unless you are a photographer.
*NO ONE is to delete other people's comments except a moderator. Even if they are comments to your work. If anyone does this, they will be removed from the community. E-mail the mod if you WANT a comment removed.
*Try to post; you're here because you want to share something of yourself with friends and friendly strangers. We can't (and wouldn't want to!) force you to post, but we all want you to do so as often as possible.
*Try to comment! Members posting are looking for comments positive, negative, and all of them constructive; treat each post by a community member as a request for feedback. If you have the time to write a lengthy critique, please go for it. If there is only enough time to comment a line or two, fire it off and smile knowing you've done your part.
*Thank your fellow members for their feedback and commentary. While you might not agree with what they say, take each criticism and comment in the best light and if you're unsure, ask the commenter for a clarification. This is a safety zone, a place of solace to post works of art and gain understanding. We can only do that if we work together.
*Other rules may be added if needed, but this should be enough for now.
