Welcome!

[edit]

I'm MiracleMiles, a volunteer English Wikipedia editor from New Jersey, United States. I usually edit and expand articles local to the New York metropolitan area, and in particular, I love to find or take useful photos and caption them for articles. I'm also an FAA-licensed Part 107 Remote Pilot, which means I'm allowed to take drone photos for Wikipedia; if you know any good candidates, let me know!

About my username

[edit]

My username is a line from the New Radicals song You Get What You Give, in the 1998 album Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too written by Gregg Alexander and Rick Nowels:

"Four AM, we ran a miracle mile / We're flat broke, but hey, we do it in style."

The "miracle mile" is a real place, it's a shopping corridor in Los Angeles. The lyrics imagine broke friends running it at the one hour where none of it is for sale. They're not waiting for the stores to open or sad the stores are closed; they're making something the stores were never going to give them.

Wikipedia feels like that. In an internet full of stores, Wikipedia just isn't. It's one of the last places online where knowledge is given rather than sold - open at 4 AM to anyone who shows up willing to do the work. I'm here to run my miracle mile.
