Hi there! My name is Carlos. I'm a Chilean editor mainly focused on improving Wikipedia's coverage of historical and social topics. Much of my work is devoted to my country's history and society, including parliamentary history, political institutions, historical biographies of public figures, and also Chilean footballers, clubs, and tournaments.
I'm currently working on improving coverage of Chilean legislative history and coordinating the Wikiproject Chilean Legislatures.

[edit]Current work: Translations
[edit]I primarily contribute to the English-language Wikipedia, where I work on expanding historical content related to Chile. My editing often involves developing article series and improving coverage of underrepresented areas of the topics which I pointed.
I currently focus primarily on translating and adapting content from the Spanish Wikipedia into English, particularly articles that are underrepresented or missing from the English-language edition. To a lesser extent, I also translate content from German, which I speak as well.
My main interest is in helping bridge knowledge gaps between language editions and making well-sourced content available to a wider audience.
(*) Note: LLM tools play a consultative role in my workflow, mainly assisting with translation or copyediting; I remain responsible for reviewing the text and verifying the sources (WP:LLM).

Beyond editing, I am also interested in the relationship between Wikipedia and the Digital Humanities, and I teach a course titled Digital Humanities: the case of Wikimedia, at the Pontifical Catholic University of ValparaÃso (PUCV), which explores how collaborative platforms contribute to the production and organization of knowledge. I'm also currently involved in community-building efforts, helping to support and guide new editors interested in contributing to Wikipedia.
As an editor, I support the principles of neutral point of view (WP:NPV), verifiability, and careful sourcing, and I consider clear categorization and well-structured articles important tools for improving Wikipedia's usefulness as a reference work.
