The community is called justoneisland and anyone is free to join if they wish, especially you peeps, since you rock.
Have fun! |

I have come here to show everybody that I still care about this group.
I want to know what everybody else is up to doing, if they're still doing anything at all. It's pretty sad that this place is so empty, but I guess a few posts here and there are better than nothing, aren't they? I figure I might as well post something here, to get everybody back into the spirit of roleplaying that everybody else once had. So here goes nothing.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Starblade, a dragoness in her late teenage years, and not long past maturity, flies over the barren terrain, looking for life. It has been a long and harsh journey, through acres and acres of nothingness. She has been looking for a pleasant place to land for quite some time, but to no avail. There are only but a few meager villages, rooted in almost barren terain, but no thriving cities, no actual civilization so to speak. This worries her, for she realizes just how much dragons, as any other species, need eachother in order to survive, in order to truly live the life they deserve to be living.
As starblade continues flying, she suddenly finds a small empty field, with numerous artifacts which she immediately recognizes as belonging to her old group of friends. She circles down for a landing, and when she lands, she picks up one of these artifacts, examining it more closely. She sighs, setting it back down to the place on the ground where she found it, and calls out, letting out a cry, a plea for others who might still be here, just hoping that maybe at least one of her old friends is here.
"Hello? Is anybody here? Heelloooo....? This is Starblade calling. I'm here... if anybody wants to talk, to help me rebuild this decaying landscape."
She listens carefully, but hears nobody. She closes her eyes, sighing softly to herself, but doesn't give up. She decides, if anybody is going to even bother trying to rebuild this civilization, she will, and she will do it by herself if she has to. So she goes to fetch some firewood, figuring the very first thing she should do is try to help bring a little warmth to this cold, empty ruins. Perhaps, maybe, others will see this fire. It will be a beacon for all those who also want to see this place flourish with life once again. This she cannot know for sure, but she nevertheless hopes with all her heart with it does, and decides to continue gathering up the firewood.
Eventually, she lights it, and while the fire is not very large right now, it's still there, and flickering, catching onto the rest of the resources, just barely maintaining its own existence, but how long can this last?
She closes her eyes, sitting by the fire, and asks this question to herself. She gets a grip on herself, and has enough resolve to answer this question for herself, at least for her own sake. "This fire might not last very long, but it will last long enough if I have anything to do with it!"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, how do you like it? I put my very own personal flavour in this post, and I hope that you all enjoy it, and decide to help me build this place up to the prospering metropolis that it truly deserves to be. Or at least just a healthy place for us old folks who still want to hang out with eachother. That seems to be a modest goal to set our sites upon. If anybody wants to achieve this goal with me, then it's your call. Come and help me with this, but don't just sit there. If you want to see this group actually working together again in roleplaying the way it used to be, then you should, just as I have, start to actually do something about it.
All we truly have is ourselves and each other, so let us use that to its fullest advantage! |

I, amazingly, can still remember the beginning... at least, the beginning for me. Everything before that, even that which others still remember, is my prehistory (No offense.)
It was at a board owned by one named Amber. At that particular time, it was peaceful, inhabited by many friendly characters. And, somewhere, off in the bush, another creature appeared, dressed in a dark gray cloak that hid all his features, save only a pair of glowing blue jewel-like eyes.
The first creature he encountered was a dragoness, named Eldynir, who was collecting plants and herbs for healing. Having asked the robed one who he was, he replied that he was called Shyriath. He, in turn, naively asked Eldynir if she was a gardener of some sort, to be working with the plants (for he'd never witnessed the use of plants in healing before).
From there, he made his entrance into the ITW world. And despite having a spectacularly faulty memory, even Shyriath doesn't forget where it started for him.
Even if, in the course of this narrative, he has reverted to referring to himself in third person. Kinda like Bob Dole. |

I think one of the biggest eye-opening moments of all RP'dom was the time when Kreagor mated with Cerys. That really got everyone's attention.
I met Kreagor shortly after the Kalist war on another board and we became great friends almost instantly. His character was such a wild concept. He played a horny male dragon that would chase after every female he saw. That was such a wild concept. His goal was to just be funny and make people laugh.
He participated in several RP's over the years, But the one with Cerys will always stick with me. And I can't get into details here, even though i know them.
I remember that Starblade (or matt, as he was) was there, but i'm unsure as to who else was there. I think maybe even Mezaune who was Cerys' mate! But the scene involved Kreagor wooing a drunken Cerys, who was the RP flirt, as you veterans may rememeber, into mating, IN DETAIL no less!
Every players jaw just...dropped! and no one could decide about feeling awe, disgust, or just laugh at it. But after it was over, Kreagor just chuckled and went about his ways.
The memories of ITW eh? They will never truly fade. |

| What I remember.. |

I think the most memorable of all RPG plots i've been in will always be the Kalist War. Well, there is ONE oter that will be just as memorable, but not to nearly as many. I will talk about that later.
I think that, what made the Kalist war so memorable was the fact that it was the plot that kicked off what would later become a grand and closely knit community of RP'ers. It would be the war by which all others were compared, corny as that may sound.
The Kalist wars plot was actually simple to the point of being plotless. All it was was us against a terrible black dragon named Kalist who, for reasons i can't really remember, was attacking a town or village and it was up to the "good guys" to stop him.
That was my very first RP. I found it while doing a search for dragons on yahoo back in September 1996. Well, I actually found Alt Fan Dragons, which is gone now, and went to their "Community RP chat board". Ambers dragon lair. Thats where I met Skan, Moonlight, Synax, Corseth, Luna, and some others.
Naturally I had no idea what to do, but this battling of Kalist seemed fun so I made up my character, Dragoneer, and charged in.
Moonlight and Luna and the rest showed me the ropes, more or less, and i got into the basics fairly fast. I never really did become a master writer of any sort, but i did improve my writing skills over the years.
Anyway, In the end I do believe we finally won over Kalist after what seemed like an eternity of "hit for hit" posts. And as far as Skan once told me, he was possessed by black magic and we freed him from that spell.
That was probably one of the only RP's that ever had a true ending to it. Every one after that seemed to just die off in mid-plot.
There was never another that compared to the Kalist war, and I realize now why that is. Like i said, it was out first RP. the one that kicked it all off.
I do hope ask, that if any of you oldies out there have any more details on the Kalist war, to post them here. posts or pieces. Thanks. |

*giggles happily* Look! I learned to post here! Yay!
*huggles Dragoneer*
**edit** Dragoneer kindly informed me that I forgot to tell you all how to post, if you don't already know how.
Right, so, when you go to "Update Journal", click on "More options" and then go to the dropdown menu for which journal to post under. :) There you have it! |

I remember many things of how life way back when was and so it is for all (especially Dennis) that I write what I can remember now in my own writing form... (know many details are missing.)
------My earliest: Luna Starr, Skadranon Rashkae and Dragoneer-----
The filly unicorn, disgruntled at seperation from it's guardian, bleated a few time for her. "Kazzy!? Kaaaazzzzy?!" "Hello, who are you?" Beside the small one a gryphon had made his way. Snow white and bright eyed, he watched her with definate interest but was startled when she gasped. "Gryphon!" She shrieked at the top of her little lungs, backing up so quick as to trip over her long baby legs. "Gryphon!" Needless to say the gryphon, Skandranon Rashkae by name, was quite confused by the little equine's bellows. "What? Why- I'm not going to-..." "GRYPHON!" She wailed louder, struggling up over those annoying appendages and backing again. Skan's persuing of her for each step she backed probably didn't do him any good at all in calming the foal. "Get away from me, you... you... murderer!" Sure enough she didn't know what that word meant. But she was pretty sure it was bad and had to do with killing. Kazul had said it many time about gryphons and her parents. "Murderer?" Squwaked the gryph, now not so sure he liked what he'd gotten himself into. "I'm not a murderer..." "Yes you are!" She screamed matter of factly, as many little ones do who haven't a large vocabulary.
By now a good many inhabitants of Amber's Lands had turned their heads to acknowledge the conflict. One, a tall humanoid, excused himself from his conversation with a blue dragon to come assess the situation. His name, many knew by then, was Dragoneer. Least ways that was what he was called. One could hardly have been -named- that. Not a sutible name by human standards. Perhaps it explained his consortation with dragons alone? But that differs from our plot line... so we shall continue... This man, Dragoneer, came to sort things out. Or at least he wanted to know the goings on. "Hello there little one..." He cooed softly to the filly. She yelped like a dog in her surprise, but, seeing as this was not another gryphon, she ran pell mell to hid behind him. Well, pell mell with a great sprawling fall at the end. The gryphon had to bite back a laugh at this. He knew it wouldn't help to ridicule the baby if he wanted to make friends with it. "Hello Dragoneer..." The gryphon and the human were aquainted already. "Hey Skan... what's the trouble?" he asked this of both, though his eyes gazed bemusedly upon the unicorn behind his legs. "Er, well... Apparently she's not a gryphon lover." This was an understatement, as she, still on the ground, curled her tiny head about the human's knee and from there peered out fearfully at the gryphon. "Hm... so it seems. Hello little miss. I'm Dragoneer. What do they call you?" Two bright blue eyes raised up to Dragoneer in awe. "I'm... I'm Luna..." She muttered. "So miss Luna, why are you so frightened of my friend, Skan, here?" He smiled pleasently at her and when she looked about to the gryphon, he tried to smile too. Problem with that was he could only do so but opening his beak. She gave a shudder against Dragoneer's leg and pulled her head back to hide it in her tiny wings. "He's a gryphon... Gryphons kill unicorns." She whispered. It was rather muffled by her wings, but they got the jist. "Not me!" Cried Skan, indignantly, but a look from Dragoneer silenced him. "And why do you say that, miss Luna?" His tone was patient and soothing. Something the filly appreciated very much. She removed her head from her wing. "They killed my mama and daddy." The big blue eyes went again up to Dragoneer, then across to the gryphon. "Gryphons are murderers." "Well..." Skan layed upon the ground and inched towards the unicorn and Dragoneer, attemping to be as non-threatening as possible. "I'm not a murderer. Not all gryphons are. Some are just mean..." She almost withdrew in fear again, but after a second and an encouraging nudge from Dragoneer, she reached out her muzzle to sniff him. After a second or two, she inched closer to him, causing Dragoneer to stumble back as she got up and pushed between his legs. "You are called Skan?" She asked and the gryphon nodded. "Then you are my Skan. But you must promise... you will never kill a unicorn." "I swear by it, little Luna. I will be your Skan." Awe, Halmark moment. Dragoneer probably had a hard time keeping tears from his eyes. Actually, he was more intent on recovering his balance as the little unicorn whipped about to him, almost impaling him with her littel horn. "And you are Dragoneer?" He nodded as Skan had, unsure possibly his he was required to a promise aswell. "Oh good. You know Kazul then!" Her mood had changed so rapidly it stunned them both. They knew babies were impressionable, but this was just insanity. She beckoned to them to help her find her guardian. Who would have thought they would be some of the closest friends that Amber's Lair had ever some across?
------ End memory one ------
I hope everyone enjoyed my narrative. It was kinda silly, I understand. But I did my best to remember. Think back, everyone, and if someone can come up with another story, perhaps the first meeting of your character with another, please post it. Whether in short exerpts or as a story, it doesn't matter. We all are in charge of putting as much of this puzzle together as we can.
A friend of you all, blessed be; Luna |
