Okay, so we've drifted to Saturday prompts. Big deal. Let's see what we can do from here...
Learning a truth you didn't want to know
OR
A piece of music that means something to you
OR
Realizing you forgot something.

I've had a long and over-busy week this week and haven't had the chance to work on any of the prompts myself, so I'm gonna give last week's prompts one more week before putting up new ones.
Thank you all for your patience, and my apologies.
Thank you all for your patience, and my apologies.
Okay, so I haven't done last week's prompts yet. I'm sorry. I'll do one of them on Friday- I've had RL to deal with...
Anyway. Week four prompts.
The BEST DAY EVER.
AND/OR
The scariest thing you've ever done on purpose.
AND/OR
Someone judging you unfairly.
Have fun!

Hi, everyone. It's a day late because... because. Sorry, got no excuses this time. Anyway, here are this week's prompts. (Feel free to go back and do prior prompts, too, btw. I know people can't always do things on my schedule. I can't always do things on my schedule.)
Making it to the end of a very long day
AND/OR
Something you tried to learn, but were never good at.

Morning, everyone, and welcome back for week 2 of revived
daemonmuses. As promised, here's your daemonverse prompts for the week.
A first kiss or a first love; whether or not they're the same target is up to you
AND/OR
"What seems to be the problem, $AUTHORITY_FIGURE_OF_YOUR_CHOICE?"
AND/OR, because why not three:
The day your daemon settled.

Hi, folks. For those of you just tuning in, welcome to
daemonmuses; we're a writing prompt community that was founded years ago and has gone idle for some time. The basic idea here is, you join with an RP journal (fandom or OC, either one, but no RPF) and you get one or two prompts a week. You can write as short or as long of a response as you like.
Oh, and everybody involved in your fic has a daemon. Yeah, that'd be the big thing.
Anyway. It's Wednesday, which is generally new comics day here in the States, so that's as good an excuse as any to have it be new prompt day, too. So here's this week's two:
- Someone else encountering you and your daemon for the first time
AND/OR
- Moving into a new home.
Post in your RP journal and link it to this post in a comment, okay?
Thanks, and welcome back!
(Side note: the old rules for the community are going to be revamped. For now, don't worry about applications or taken characters or anything like that.)

Another emergency- and rather belated- substitute daemonmuses prompt set!
Quotes:
"We need not to be let alone. We need to be really bothered once in a while. How long is it since you were really bothered? About something important, about something real?"
-Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury
"If during a decade a man does not change his mind on some things and develop new points of view, it is a pretty good sign that his mind is petrified and need no longer be accounted among the living."
-J. Frank Dobie
"There is only one time that is important — NOW! It is the most important time because it is the only time that we have any power."
-Leo Tolstoy
"Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us."
-Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen
"I know. You did many good things. But if we consider whether you will stay as you are now, we must consider what you are now, and what you wish to be. We must see clearly. We must have done with daydreams, and see whether this sapling-" he touched her arm, "-be oak, holly, ash or cherry. We can grow no cherries on an oak, nor acorns on a holly. And however your life goes, Paksenarrion, it cannot return to past times: you will never be just as you were. What has hurt you will leave scars. But as a tree that is hacked and torn, if it lives, will be the same tree- will be an oak if an oak it was before- so you are still Paksenarrion. All your past is within you, good and bad alike."
-Oath of Gold, Elizabeth Moon
Write About:
Your first encounter with death
Winning a contest
The first time you felt like an adult (whether or not you actually were/are)
An encounter with an unfamiliar animal
Getting away with something
A book that was of some kind of importance to you
You/your daemon's reaction to a piece of art
About You:
Do you have any dietary restrictions? Are they voluntary, or medical? Does your daemon share in any of them, or think well/poorly of any of them?
Are there any areas of philosophy or ethics on which you and your daemon disagree?
What bores you?
Do you know someone whose daemon strikes you as surprising? Why?

Er... yes. I was supposed to post these yesterday but couldn't for the life of me remember the login... anyway! Here, have a few prompts to tide you over for the week.
Quotes
"Systems don't change easily. Systems try to maintain themselves, and seek equilibrium. To change a system, you need to shake it up, disrupt the equilibrium. That often requires conflict."
- Starhawk, The Spiral Dance
"The adolescent years of any fairly intelligent youth lie open, and will always lie healthily open, to the contagion of philosophical doubts, or scorns and new ideas, and I will confess I had the fever of that phase badly. Doubt, I say, but it was not so much doubt — which is a complex thing — as startled emphatic denial. "Have I believed this!""
- H. G. Wells, In The Days Of The Comet
"You've heard of animals chewing off a leg to escape a trap? There's an animal kind of trick. A human would remain in the trap, endure the pain, feigning death that he might kill the trapper and remove a threat to his kind."
- Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam, Dune, by Frank Herbert
"I have to believe in a world outside my own mind. I have to believe that my actions still have meaning, even if I can't remember them. I have to believe that when my eyes are closed, the world's still there. Do I believe the world's still there? Is it still out there?... Yeah. We all need mirrors to remind ourselves who we are. I'm no different... Now... where was I?"
- Leonard Shelby, Memento
"Listen, it's too big a world to be in competition with everybody. The only person I'm out to beat is who I am right now. And in your case, that's tough enough."
- Col. Sherman T. Potter, M*A*S*H
About You
What kind of climate would you prefer to live in? Does your daemon agree with you on this?
What's the most frightening thing you've ever done on purpose? How'd that work out?
What's the first thing you, or your daemon, remembers clearly?
Do you dream in color? Black and white? Sepiatone? Something else? Are any of your senses different in your dreams than they are when you're awake? Do you share in any of your daemon's abilities when you're asleep?
Did you ever run away from home, or seriously consider the prospect?
Write About
Moving to a new home
Learning (or forgetting) an important skill
A major test

[Okay. Huge. Huge apologies people. Work has been kicking my ass and after a twelve day work streak (I'm not kidding) I haven't had any time in the slightest to work on-well-anything. Here are the prompts! And until further notice, they're going up whenever I have a spare moment. Kay? Kay.
This is also the "Medica" Edition since I've just gotten into Repo! The Genetic Opera.]

What sort of medical system does your world have? How does it relate to daemons? Discuss in detail, provide examples if you'd like.
Do you have a role-model in your life? Who are they and why? Why did you want to be like them? How did you meet them?
For people who's daemons are [IN-FLUX]. Do you ever fight with your daemon? do they ever create a scene? Talk about one of these instances where you got in trouble for it.
Shock and surprise are emotions we all feel. Write about one instance of complete out of the blue shock and awe that scared you and your daemon.
Do you have a crush? a secret love? are you married? How did you meet? What's their daemon like? Details please. ;)

QUOTES
If you're staring at me, it better be because I'm the suspect. If not, get back to work or I swear you're all demoted to something that involves touching shit with your hands!
-Agent Thomas Morgan (Eagle Eye)
Mr. President, what place do you think you will have in history?
History? In history we'll all be dead!
-George W. Bush, (W)
The American people want revenge. They liked Afghanistan, they want more!
-Karl Rove (W)
Stay with the dead, I'm joining the living!
-Shilo Wallace (Repo!)
Chase the morning. Yield for nothing. Chase the morning. Yield for nothing.
-Blind Mag (Repo!)
Gil Grissom: I was flying to a seminar in New Hampshire a couple of summers ago. I was sitting in the plane next to a Philosophy Professor from Harvard. He told me this story about how every morning he takes a leak right after his three-hour philosophy class. He flushed the toilet there'd be this tiny brown spider fighting for its life against the swirling water. He came back the next day, flush. Same spider, clawing its way back from oblivion. A week goes by, he decides to liberate the spider. Grabs a paper towel, Scoops him up and sets him on the floor in the corner of the stall. Comes back the next day and what do you think happened to the spider?
Warrick Brown: Dead.
Gil Grissom: On his back, eight legs up. Why? Because one life imposed itself on another. Right then I realized, where we stand. For the first time I understood our role. We don't impose our will. We don't impose our hopes on the evidence.
-Gil Grissom and Warrick Brown (CSI)
The thing that makes a fantasy great is the possibility it might come true. And when you lose that possibility it just... kinda... sucks.

I don't believe in it. All writing is difficult. The most you can hope for is a day when it goes reasonably easily. Plumbers don't get plumber's block, and doctors don't get doctor's block; why should writers be the only profession that gives a special name to the difficulty of working, and then expects sympathy for it?"

ROLEPLAY OUT
Your last moments before either passing out or dropping dead. What do you say? who is with you and why?
- Current Mood:accomplished
This weeks’ theme is…Sarcasm. And books. Lots of books. And we’re also including the new prompt on the last that I discussed HERE in the back room. Okay?
ABOUT YOU
Has your daemon ever said something that got you in trouble? What happened?
On the reverse, (for all you daemons out there) has your partner ever said something that’s gotten you in trouble or caught? Discuss!
Rebuffed advances. We all have them. Talk about one of those instances. Use as many details as possible.
Who do you work with/live with? What are their daemons like? Do you get along with them? Do you want to do things to them, either good or bad?
What do you believe happens when we die? Do you go on to some magical happy place, does nothing happen, or are you reunited with loved ones? Do you get to peer into the great unknown? Spend eternity in the same clothes you died in? Talk about it.
What do you HOPE will happen when you pass on?
Failing that, what do you hope will happen in the future? What do you wish for?

Okay, so the whole goal of this was to encourage people to write prompts and to rp. And since I see that a lot of you are RPing (kudos to you!) I figured I’d include this.
In short, there will be a new caterogory in each weekly prompt that will include a scenario you can rp out with someone in your canon or in this particular community. It’s a little one shot, it could have lots of impact on your story or very little impact on your story. Don’t worry, I won’t ask anybody to do anything bad. The rules for this are as follows:
You are given a scenario. You supply:
The means, motive, method, and opportunity. (For instance, if there’s news to deliver what is it? Why are you delivering it there? Who’s coming after you?)
The outcome: (Will you escape whoever is chasing you? Will you be caught and beaten severely? Do they just want your autograph?)
And then you link me to the thread. It can be as long or as short as you’d like. And if you DON’T like this little addition let me know and it’ll be gone like voltron mmkay? Mmkay!)
