2:23 pm - 30 years down the toilet...

ladyash5869
You ever notice in newer couples,

you HAVE TO close the bathroom door,

god forbid your partner see's you on the can?

Now:

"I need to brush my teeth!"

"Hold on! I'll be done in a minute!"

Thirty years later:

"Hunny! Bring the camera!"

6:58 pm - MOD POST

me_and_jimmy
So its been quite a while since anything has been posted here and I figured I would try to bring this community back from the dead. SO here are some of my amazing…(not necessarily as amazing as I would hope) ideas for this place to be more active.
All things comedy related are welcomed…
Icons, pictures you find funny, up coming events or show experiences/reviews (improv, stand up, plays, movies, television), raving or ranting about comedians or comedy related media, discussions so on.

I was thinking of just having a designated day for people pimping out communities that are related to our main topic, a day where you can pimp it out once a week every week if you feel like it. Fancy banners are welcomed ;) If you’re in love with a comic and have a community dedicated in their honor then by all means tell us, if you have an improv (even local ones) community then by all means pimp it out.

I want more jokes (I’m a whore like that). I want people to posts whatever funny/corny/dumb jokes they find amusing…if they are adult related jokes put them in a cut and warn us…just for those who might find them not funny. With the jokes I have a new rule, I don’t want things to be offensive. I am very pro free speech but lets face it we all know whats not tasteful so just warn us. Keep it from being racist, I don’t care if you tell a new Aristocrats type joke just don’t be racist. And again be sure to warn us that the content is gross or rude or crude…if it’s more than PG 13.

I’m going to try to post more and I want to encourage you all to do the same. You were all here for a reason so lets keep this place going.

OH and since we all are Comedy Whores please comment on people’s posts.

Heres to Lots of Laughs
XOXO
Seanna

5:40 pm - What The Hell Did I Just Watch Comedy Video Festival

ohthehumdotcom
Hey everyone,

We're putting on the "What The Hell Did I Just Watch" Comedy Video Festival this weekend. We're very interested in alternative video comedy and we're trying to create a place where other filmmakers can showcase their stuff. So, we've assembled two hour long shows the funniest stuff we could find. We don't really care how much it costs to make, or who's in it, just if it makes us laugh. So if that sounds like your kind of thing, come on down to the Rendezvous-Jewelbox theater in Belltown, this Friday and Saturday. One show is at 7pm, and a second, different show is at 8:30pm. $10 at the door. There is some rated R stuff in there, just so you know. Thanks.

Who: Henry Cho
Where: VB Funnybone
When: 12/10/06

It's been forever since I checked out someone at the 'Bone (well, a few months, but whatever), but we got some free tickets, and now that school's out for the semester, why not? Henry was very funny. He did a lot of jokes about his family, his stupid friends, and being a "south Korean". He's been around for a long time, so it was cool to see a real pro in person like that. Thumbs up!

12:25 am - Review

kim_says_roar
Tonight I got to see Leo Allen (a writer on SNL for three years, did a Comedy Central Presents special one time) and Demitri Martin.

He's currently touring, so if any of you have the opportunity to see him, DO IT.

It was seriously the best stand-up act i have ever seen.

He's a freaking genius, his jokes like, made you think while you laugh.
They were pretty random, there was no flow, but that's what made it so great.

he calls himself a "prop comedian" and uses the keyboard, harmonica, guitar, bells, chimes, a little presentation complete with a pointer, animation, and his "art".

it's so brilliant.
so hilarious.

so everyone, check him out.
=)

Just out of curiosity, who watched the season premiere of SNL this past Saturday? What do you think of the cut down cast? The show?

I could definately see the difference in writing and I enjoyed it a lot, definately a breath of fresh air. I didn't turn the channel once, I haven't stayed glued to SNL like that in a few years. Jason Sudeikis seems to be the newer Will Ferrell type, you know, regular guy type that is over-the-top funny? Anyone see that? I like making comparisons to past cast members because that seems to be how Lorne does it.

Anywho, I've never posted here and I just wanted to breathe some life into the community. Yay!

Hi there.

Just thought I'd update & say that there are dates on Michael Showalter's site for his tour with Michael Ian Black. :)
Hope someone here can go & give us a review. *hinthint*

Also, I'm not sure if I've mentioned it yet, but John Heffron has a new CD out now on iTunes called "The Better Half". If you'd like it in hard copy, you can visit his online store & order it. Which reminds me that he is also currently on tour & will begin the "Real Men of Comedy Tour" with Joe Rogan & Charlie Murphy soon, so check out those dates & see if he's near you. Then go see him & tell us about it! :)

8:49 am - comedy review - better late than never!

Wow, I just realized I forgot to update on the most fun comedy show I've seen all year! Duh!

Where: Virginia Beach Funny Bone
When: 8/18/06 and 8/20/06
Who: Randy Kagan
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Randy's one of my favorites, so when I found out he was returning to the Funny Bone, I was all kinds of excited. The Friday show was incredible. The crowd was rambunctious and wild, which is always good. Randy didn't even get to tell many jokes, because he spent a lot of time interacting with the audience. I got pretty drunk at the show (sometimes when I'm excited about something I get carried away), and ruined the fun of hanging out with Randy and the other two comedians (at a bar after the show) by barfing in the bathroom soon after. Good times! The Sunday show was a lot more mellow. Randy drank his "mantini" and told his bits about Krispy Kremes, cigarettes, and being "spacist". I hope he comes back soon.

10:41 pm - OMYGOD WTF? LMAO

me_and_jimmy
KOOKY comedian Andy Dick went bonkers at the Comedy Central roast of William Shatner on Sunday night - licking the faces of Farrah Fawcett, Carrie Fisher and Patton Oswalt before biting Post reporter Mandy Stadtmiller on the hand during a bizarre backstage meltdown.

Dick's face-licking frenzy began after Oswalt made a crack about the scraggly star's rollerskate-licking turn in Jessica Simpson's video, "A Public Affair." Dick retaliated by unleashing his tongue on Oswalt's face before turning it on Fawcett, Fisher and "Star Trek" actress Nichelle Nichols during the taping at the Radford CBS Studio in Studio City, Calif.

Backstage at the after-party, a drunken Dick groped an appalled Stadtmiller, tried to kiss her, proclaimed his love for her and finally bit her hand.

"Baby please," Dick repeated six times. "Put in something nice," he said after urinating in front of the horrified journalist in his dressing room and offering her cocaine.

"They're so mean," he ranted. "I'm not weird. Maybe I'm a little weird, they make me out to be a monster, I'm not a monster . . . I just want to have fun, baby please."

Dick, who performed his roast routine dressed in full Trekkie regalia, said that he downed two vodka cranberries to give him the courage to talk to fellow roaster Fawcett - of whom he said, "I'm going to [bleep] the [bleep] out of. Put that in Page 6, 7 and 8, that's how big my [bleep] is."

Explaining to Stadtmiller why he urinated in front of her, Dick said, "You know why I don't close the door? Because then people think I'm doing drugs, and I want you to know I'm just normal."

And why did Dick go on his licking spree? "I was doing it because I was desperately trying to tie the show together like a fisherman with tuna, and you're a little piece of fresh tuna," Dick told Stadtmiller. "But thanks for asking. Do you want me to lick your face now?"

No, Stadtmiller said - "but he can pay for that tetanus shot," she told us. Dick's camp had no comment.

This guy appealed to the pop culture nerd in me. He did spoofs on Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and did a whole 80's music parody - he imitated Madonna, Mick Jagger, Prince, and a bunch of other people. The crowd was annoyingly obnoxious (I guess late Friday shows are like that), but he was good at coming back with funny comments. It was a good time.

7:57 pm - 25 Years of Improv Comedy

kim_says_roar
All right, so i popped into Suncoast (it's a movie store) today, and lo and behold i found this little gem: 25 Years of Improv Comedy: Live From The Chicago Theatre.

I haven't watched it yet, but where could you go wrong with Matt Besser, Mo Collins, Andy Dick, Kevin Dorff, Rachel Dratch, Neil Flynn, Dave Koechner, John Lutz, Tim Meadows, Mike Meyers, Pat O'Brien, Amy Poehler, Andy Richter, Ian Roberts, Horatio Sanz, Brian Stack, Jason Sudeikis, Matt Walsh, and like a billion more i didn't feel like naming doing improv?

so yeah.
check it out, it's surely a sight that cannot be missed!
