We automatically collect and store some information about your computer and your visit. This information includes your IP address, browser type, device information, and site usage data. This also includes “cookies”, discussed in more detail below and in our cookie policy.  We use these types of automatically collected information to analyze trends, improve user experience, and maintain website performance. These statistics do not directly identify individuals.

3. Information Sharing

We use third-party vendors to provide services on the CMI websites and in our offline business operations. These services include, but are not limited to, donor contact management; credit card processing; webinar, workshop, and lecture registration and payment processing; email delivery; web analytics; appointment request tracking; and job application processing. A third-party vendor’s collection and use of personal information is governed by the policies of that vendor.

Some state laws, if applicable to you, may define the exchange of information through certain cookies (such as, for example, statistical, advertising, marketing, and tracking cookies), as a “sale” or a “share” or similar term.

Other than the information exchanges disclose in our cookie policy, we do not sell personal information collected through the Websites covered by this Privacy Notice.

4. Charitable Contributions

We do not sell, rent, or trade our donors’ names or personal information to or with any other entity, nor do we send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations.

If you choose to make an online donation, you will provide your payment information through our third-party fundraising platform, Fundraise Up. Fundraise Up uses Stripe, a third-party payment processor, to securely process donation transactions. Information collected during the donation process may be shared with Child Mind Institute to facilitate your donation and maintain our donor records, but your full payment card information is not provided to us.

For more information about how these third parties collect, use, and protect your information, please review the Fundraise Up Privacy Policy and the Stripe Privacy Policy.

5. Program Registrations

If you register for or purchase access to a webinar or workshop, including PACT, the SM Webinar, and BEST, your payment information is processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor, as described in the Terms of Sale section of our Terms of Use. If you register for or purchase a ticket to a Visiting Professor Lecture, your registration and payment are handled directly by Eventbrite, Inc., a third-party event-ticketing platform, and the personal information you provide to Eventbrite is also subject to Eventbrite’s own privacy policy; CMI receives your registration information from Eventbrite in order to administer the lecture, including for continuing education and continuing medical education credit.

For lectures that offer continuing medical education (CME) credit, CMI shares the attendance and completion information necessary to administer that credit with Northwell Health, our CME accreditation partner.

Some Registration Pages (as defined in the Terms of Sale section of our Terms of Use) ask whether your child is a current patient of the Child Mind Institute, and the BEST Registration Page asks two optional free-text questions about your child. CMI treats this information as sensitive personal information. It is stored separately from payment information and is accessible only to a limited number of administrative and clinical staff involved in preparing for your session.

6. Children

CMI is dedicated to advancing children’s mental health through compassionate care, revolutionary science, and wide-reaching public education. Our Websites support this mission by allowing us to share information with parents, guardians, educators, clinicians, scientists, and others.
