Review: Yale is a very supportive feeling place where, even though all the students are talented beyond all reason, they care about each other! You live in residental colleges, which increases school spirit and really brings students together. A dean and a master live in each residential college. Dean = parents, bc he writes you excuses for papers and stuff if you have a tragedy in the family or something and master = grandfather bc he organizes random fun study breaks and buys fun things like rock climbing walls and movie theater equipment to make your residential college cooler than the others. The master also holds teas with really famous actors, singers, politicians, diplomats, etc, that are open to everyone but normally only about 20 show up so it's really nice and intimate. Also, dorms are set up in suite style, with about 6 rooms around a common room (although most freshman actually have double room suites). They have a shopping period, too, where you can sit in on any class you want before signing up for your classes that semester. Their newspaper is out of this world (if you care). They also have a period where all the clubs set out stands along the pathway to advertise and stuff. The surrounding area is actually not the prettiest in the world, but it felt safe enough. I've been told social life is really good too, but I can't say I would really know. The campus looks like Oxford, all gothic style and ornate and awesome. So that's what I loved about Yale!
