We are running ridiculously late today, mainly because I overslept. However, today's updates include: Richard Holland from Paranormal magaziune goes in search of animals that aren't. Olivia McCarthy (my darling stepdaughter) examines the burgeoning use of mammoth tusks in body art. Fleur Fulcher goes in search of the slender billed curlew, and gets upset when she finds out, not just that it is probably extinct, but that no-one really cares and CFZ PEOPLE: Dr Daz and his lovely wife have a baby.

See all this and more (particularly looking out for Karl Shuker and Tony Lucas's inspired exchange of bad Abba puns) at http://www.cfz.org.uk

Saturday evening at the CFZ and we are all still working. We really need some volunteers :) Tonight's updates include: This morning we were sent a picture of a fairy. The photograph was allegedly taken in Argentina in early January..Corinna tells the heartwarming (and completely off-topic story of an OAP milkman drug dealer. Its nothing to do with cryptozoology, but oddly touching..Fleur sent us this story (and video) about the critically endangered Siamese crocodile - a cryptozoological success story.Richard Freeman investigates the fear factor.

And remember that earlier today we posted stories on Nessie, the chupacabra, blue dogs, crop circles and Jon having a crisis of conscience. What another one?

Check it all out on the CFZ website http://www.cfz.org.uk

Good morning campers! The snow is melting, the storage boxes for the CFZ library auxiliary stack have arrived, Oll has just brought me a Danish pastry from the village shop, and all is right with the world. Today's lunchtime updates include: New Nessie photo, but don't get your hopes up.. The CFZ has been studying the blue dogs of Texas for some time. Now, thanks to Naomi West, here is some very interesting new evidence. Tim Matthews makes crop circles. It makes him `at one with nature` or so he says... and Jon Downes has a crisis of conscience. What another one?

All this and more (including Karl Shuker's gloriously ridiculous letter about Abba) on http://www.cfz.org.uk

Let's face it - the weather is too cold to go out, so check out the CFZ bloggos instead

Featuring Biggles the cfz dog! :D
The village is snowed in. This morning a tractor was pulling a sleigh up and down the main street so the village kids could hava ride, and there is a small boy tobogganing up and down the road outside the CFZ gate. Oll has made a snowman, and my feet are cold. Today's updates include: Max Blake was on the track of background information regarding the New Zealand Bat Attack when he came across something utterly stupendous. There's more to extinct New Zealand bats than meets the eye. Max should know: he's an expert. Tim Matthews looks at freshwater stingrays, and asks why we ain't doing it? More on the New Zealand bat attacks. Warning: contains video of lumberjacks, and last (but by no means least) realising that we have more snow than we have for a while, you are bound to ask: "What does Biggles make of it all?"

new episode of on the track :) featuring the infamous Beast of the Bay!
Outside it is beginning to snow, and Oll is feeding the rabbits and chickens, whilst walking through a winter wonderland. Today's updates include: The new episode of our monthly webTV show `Cryptozoology: On the Track`. I am particularly proud of this episode which includes, the saga of the `Beast of the Bay`, Mississippi Map Turtles, Bears in Illinois, new and rediscovered animals, some peculiar art, two beloved cartoon animals as you have never seen them before, a brief look at the dodo and others, and a competition. Be there or be square. We also have Bat attacks in New Zealand. Something very strange seems to be happening. Tony Lucas reports. Back on the subject of webTV Jordan Warner takes us behind the scenes of `Cryptid Hunt`, and tells us what happened when he went to West Virginia in search of Mothman, and finally Wildcat Island: showing the mixture of political acumen, crypto savvy, and downright silliness that ensures a bright future for him at the CFZ, Matty Osborne finds an apposite pun on a BBC website..

Sunday teatime, and I always think wistfully of my mother's home made jam. There is a jar or two left in the cupboard but it is over a decade old and I am afraid to eat it. This evening's updates include: Technical issues at the CFZ? Never. Jon explains what has been happening. New guest blogger Alan Friswell talks about Komodo dragons and King Kong. Richard Freeman bemoans what is happening to museums. Richard Holland, editor of Paranormal Magazine talks about his own sighting of a mystery beast, albeit a small and cuddly one..

And in case you missed the lunchtime posts we gave you big cats, whales, a were-hedgehog, and the further adventures of Biggles the CFZ hound...

It can all be found on:

Today's Updates on the site
Saturday teatime, and work continues on the new `On The Track`. It will be out either tonight or tomorrow. But in the meantime: Take it to the Bridge. The latest episode of Jordan Warner's Cryptid Hunt is now out. This one is the spookiest yet and covers the saga of Mothman. Six years ago, almost to the day, Jon was at Bolam Lake in Northumberland when he had a life-changing experience.
He saw a monster. Jon's stepdaughter is in her final year as a Veterinary Student. She tells us about the stuff that really shouldn't happen to a vet. And finally the bad news, and the good news of amphibian conservation, with a healthy dollop of crypto. Nice one Fleur!

Remember that this morning we had lungfish, the Oz Factor, evolutionary biology of Jon's favourite birdies, and a generous
download courtesy of John "Brojo" Wooldridge. Thanks mate, we owe you one.
