Stand up and salute the men and women who have served this great nation. It is thanks to them that Pat Bond could make great strides in the BDSM community by creating TES in 1971, for which we are eternally grateful.
Patriotism runs deep in us, so join us on the 4th of July weekend as we celebrate the lives of those who gave us the means to enjoy our freedom. If you purchase your TESFest admission by Memorial Day, we will give you a TES membership so that you can show your appreciation for Pat Bond and everyone else who has ensured your pursuit of the American Dream.
Join us for a holiday weekend celebrating our freedoms of speech, fun and sex. Over 75 classes, loads of special events, naked outdoor games and parties for TNG-ers to seniors.
Starting on Monday, May 23, all you have to do is add a membership to your TESFest 2011 registration. If you are already a member, your membership will be extended for a year. Is it true about nuns and their love of...discipline?
Do they really wear studded bracelets under their habits?
Is it just a coincidence that the person in charge of nun in training is called a mistress?
These and many more questions will be answered at the Bad Habit Brunch! With food, storytelling, and, of course, go go dancers. Brought to you by the brave folks at Found Voice Communications and everyone's favorite nerdpolykinkster comic Kelli Dunham.
Tickets are just 15 bucks in advance. If you want to read more about what a nice dyke like Kelli was doing in a place like that, check out the 12 Days of Convent at Sistermery.com

Featuring professional spiritual and erotic educator Lee Harrington.
Breath play may be the black sheep of the BDSM family, but people are doing it. Lee will lead a discussion on why and how folks are playing, then will move deeper to cover the styles that exist out there.
From gas masks to choking, bagging to shared breath play, tantric breathing to nooses, Lee will cover them all and more.
This stuff makes us hot, so fess up, because you are not alone!
Lee will also touch on auto-erotic breath play, complicated breath play scenes, and health issues involved in breath play.
This is a closed-door class with no late admittance allowed.

With three days of presentations, workshops, discussions and more, the 2010 conference is promising to be our best yet. We are thrilled to have author, artist and educator Lee Harrington confirmed as our keynote speaker. Lee will also be teaching two exciting workshops during the weekend. We've also confirmed Rainbow Times columnist and Miss Trans New England Lorelei Erisis, along with and stand-up comedienne Widow Centauri, to perform an entertaining and informative introduction to Transcending Boundaries. This will occur after you get a chance to socialize with other 2010 attendees at our Friday night meet and greet reception. We are also excited to once again be working with AIDS Project Worcester on a reception following the Transgender Day of Remembrance Vigil. The weekend's programming is still being finalized, but we've already received many exciting proposals and will be announcing confirmed details after the call for proposals deadline in August.
Ensure your spot for the conference and register early! Registration includes all three days of programming including classes, discussions and entertainment, a delicious lunch Saturday, and more. You can register at http://www.transcendingboundaries.org/registration.
We hope to see you there!

Interview with Co-Owner & Co-President of Leatherbeaten, Bill Ditchburn
Leatherbeaten is a small Canadian company that has had two distinct, but overlapping, phases in its 11 years. First, as a premium whip maker dealing almost exclusively with high end fetish stores. Once the famed whip makers' curses (carpal tunnel, tendonitis) began to kick in, they decided on a change of direction and have since greatly expanded their line to include many more mainstream pieces. Fortunately, this shift came as BDSM itself was becoming more mainstream, and Leatherbeaten has been working ever since to help raise the standard of gear. They set the bar by using the best leathers and hardware, and offering an unconditional warranty. We’ve even heard that Billy and his partner Kristina rode down to the US from Canada on a motorcycle stocked with his wares, selling to shops in person. He’s got an unconventional business style. Surely, there are some stories to be told about those early days!

Since October is one of the busiest months of the year, it made sense to split our normal offering into an early installment, & this special addition to cover the later weeks & Halloween…
If you missed it, Capitol Punishment provided an absolutely awesome night for the scene. Held in the elegance of Ultra Bar, it drew a truly magnificent crowd who played, partied, & danced all night long. Indeed, an incredible line-up of top DJ's offered a high level of energy to keep the dance floors buzzing, while top performers, go go's, models, & an array of luscious fashion provided just the right blend of entertainment & intrigue to balance out the evening.
And while the main show went on downstairs, up on the second level a beautiful crowd of scenesters mixed, mingled, & had a great time in the well equipped play space provided by DXS & SLYX. All in all, it was a fantastic night & a good time had by all.
We'd like to thank everyone who made it out, & EVERYONE who worked so hard to make it a night of pure magic. Indeed, I'd like to personally thank model Nicotine for putting her heart & soul into creating such a fabulous event & for making The Metro such a key player. Planning has already begun for 2010, so we'll look forward to seeing you next year!
In the meantime, we want to send along a few notes for the rest of the October Season…

It seems that the scene has witnessed a true resurgence as of late…
Indeed, this new found revival appears to carry a very real sense of possibility & a feeling of anticipation for what the future may hold. Like the phoenix rising from a period that was caught in relative obscurity, there seems to be a new level of stature that's beginning to quench the thirst of many & usher in a new era.
