When: Two weeks ago
Where: Streets of Gotham

Summary: A brief fight and good use of hypnosis.

Patrol. Nice, normal-not safe, no, but a return to routine that the recent weeks had deprived him of. He was vaguely hoping for something more interesting than a car thief he had knocked out earlier, but the last hour had been so quiet he was starting to think he had been transported from Gotham into the Twilight Zone.

Ho-hum..Not much on Jervis' mind. He was a little peeved. He'd visted Alison Rose's mother's grave and laid some flowers there, Alison, had been there, freaked, spazed, hit him pretty damn hard. he fleed his shoulder, he had manged to 'convince' her to have tea at her mother's grave with him, and it hadn't been so bad, it was a pleasant mother's day evening. But he'd let his child go. He had been tempted, oh so very tempted, but, he'd restanded himself. Now...To let some of that aggression out...He needed to find someone new to stalk...Humming 'Every move you make' by the Police as he walked, he looked around for 'Alice' types”

Jervis Tetch. The Mad Hatter. A suitable night for this villain, Bruce thought disgustedly, repressing memories of a familiar voice reading him Alice In Wonderland. He followed his prey for a few streets, until they made it into the seedier districts where people wouldn't notice a fight, before dropping down in front of the Hatter and aiming a punch at Tetch's face.

: Wooo! “He let out a yell and ducked just in time, the punch knocking his hat off, sending the oversized thing flying. Oh bother. Batman, always picking on the litttle guy. The re-headed feind narrowd his green eyes at ol' Batsy. “ Now, now, that's not very poilte, aiming a punch at a poor old fellow out for a stroll..”he carckled grinning ear to ear as he drew out hisb gun and fired on him, nt aring if he missed or not as he was aiming a kick at the Bat's well sculpted abs”

Batman dodged the kick to his abs, but the bullet scraped across his bicep, tearing through the weaker armor on his arms and scraping across his arm before dinging against a broken lamppost behind him. "You're going to Arkham, Tetch." He said, trying to spin-kick the gun out of the other man's hand.

Oh bah. The lab shattered, the gun went flying. Lovely. He scowled at him, pouting really. “ Oh, no fair! I'm shorter than you, not fair at all you know..know...how to get around this...? intreesting...There was always a way to slip a little mind controll on him...He needed to test his latest invention, who better on than Batman?” Allright..You wiin...I give.”

Batman moved toward the seemingly complacent Jervis, trying to get his hands around the other man's wrists and cuff them together--a little warily, but he wasn't expecting the Hatter to do much at all.

:perfect. Just what he wanted, physical contact, good..Now..He made his move, fingers twitching, cold metal slipped out his sleave as he made to tackle Bats, that metal thing shaped like a tiny card was being attemped to get shoved in Batman's shoulder

The card went in, though he flipped the Hatter over himself as he tackled, trying to throw him.

“ HMpt. Well, then, that's that! And hast thou slain the Jabberwock? oh Frabjous day! Come to my arms, my beamish boy! Callol Clally!” He chortled in his joy! “Well,. done Batman! but as always! The better gentleman wins!” He laughed loudly, bowing sportsmanly like “You'll forgive me if I don't tip my hat....Now, be a good little bat and run along home back to your drab cave! “

He jumped up to the roof of the building, his movements clumsy, like a bear in a mansuit. His body didn't seemed to respond right and he kept looking back like he was going to...but he managed to gain the roof and he began to move. Home. Like the sonar of a bat, his mind showed him pictures on the wind. Home. To the cave.

He headed home.
