A Confirmation

So me and Britt went to Thatcher this weekend to meet Holly up there and see her for one last time before she heads off to BYU. We had so much fun! We saw a lot of friends we hadn't seen in awhile, and it was great! So we were driving home this evening and Brittany had fallen asleep so I was just listening to music and this song came on, and it hit me really strong. I have never been so anxious to go on a mission til then. I got teary eyed as I listened to this song, and at that moment I just KNEW that me deciding to go on a mission when the time comes is the right decision. The words to this song are awesome, and when the time comes for me to go on my mission, this song will be sung at my farewell talk. When I get my call is when the words to this song will be even more fitting for me. I just thought I would share that experience with you all. Here is the link to the song, you should listen to it. Elyse and Marriage? Within a year? HA!

My cousin got married yesterday, and I am so happy for her! She married a guy from England, and it really put a cool twist on things. Sam (the groom) and his dad and grandpa all wore their kilts! When Sam and Leslie walked out of the temple Sam had his suit jacket and everything on, and then his kilt, and it was awesome! At the reception they kept their kils on, and there was a guy walking around in his kilt playing the bagpipes. The bagpipes really put another cool twist to the reception, everybody loved it! Come the end of the night, Leslie threw her bouquet, and I caught it!! I have never caught the bouquet at a wedding before, maybe I really WILL get married within a year eh? HA! Brooke thought it was so cool that I caught the flowers, it was so cute. She kept saying "Lyse, you caught the flowers" and she said they "the flowers smell pretty" and then she was telling her mom that I caught it and and she said "Momma, Lyse caught the flowers, and I said yaaaay (and started clapping her hands)." Anyway, that is the story, just thought I would post it haha. Have a great day!

Goodbye teens...Heeeello 20's!

I am gettin ready to head out but I thought I would just catch everyone up real quick. I went up to Thatcher on May 7th and Stayed for graduation on friday, then saturday we all said our goodbyes. Brittany moved here, so I didn't have to say goodbye to her, but it was hard for us to say bye to Holly. We miss that girl so much! We had our lasts that weekend, including our last trip to the hot springs, it was sad but we still had fun.

I finished my finals on May 13th, and thanks to the stupid professor I had for Sociology, I finished the semester with a 3.0 gpa. It wasn't what I wanted, but atleast I don't have to take that dumb class again!

On friday May 15th my mom, sister and I left for Cali!! On saturday I said goodbye to the teens and entered the 20's! I do feel old now. That day we spent it at disneyland and california adventures. We had a BLAST!!! I got to walk around with a Happy Birthday pin on me all day, and they made me write my name on it with a sharpie. I have never been told Happy Birthday, or been called princess, or said thank you so many times in my life! It was fun though, we really had a great time in Cali just us 3, we had so much fun we even forgot to take pictures :( sorry bout that!

We got home from Cali on sunday night, and the following thursday, Deena took me to the Taylor Swift concert...it was AMAZING!! We had so much fun that night. Well I think that is it for now, I will post some pictures of it all soon!

A Humbling Experience

I went to Thatcher this weekend, and had a blast, as always! Holly was in the play "Seussical" so we went to see that saturday night. Sunday I had planned to come home, so I could go to class this morning. Well time came for me to leave, so I got my stuff ready and went to get gas. After I got gas I said my prayer and just after I left Thatcher I realized I left some stuff, so I went back and got it. I had a wierd feeling, and I told Britt this, but didn't really think anything of it. I once again left, and the feeling was still there, and I had a nervous feeling in my stomach. It was a feeling I can't really explain. I said another prayer hoping the feeling I had would go away, it didn't. I was on the road for about 30 minutes when I got a feeling I needed to stop and not go any further. By this time it was almost pitch dark, and I was looking for a place to pull over, but I just kept passing them. I got the feeling again, like "Elyse stop right now," but I once again kept going. A few more minutes passed and I got the feeling SO strong, like "ELYSE STOP RIGHT NOW!" I was like "ok ok, I am stopping." I pulled over on the side of the road, and I didn't know what to do. I was alone in the dark, in the middle of nowhere, watching strange cars pass, hoping none would stop. I tried calling my parents, and I could not get through to them. I said another prayer, asking to let me know what to do. I tried calling my parents some more, and I was really getting frustrated and scared at this point. Why was I feeling this way? What could happen to me? I guess that is something I might never find out. I got the feeling to turn around and go back to Thatcher and just come home in the morning, so I did. I got in touch with my sister after I turned around, and I couldn't help but bawl to her on the phone, she probably thinks I am the biggest baby now. She is such an awesome sister though, I got her to take care of the things I was supposed to do at home that night, since my parents were out of town too. I got up early this morning and drove home, and felt completely fine. You hear people tell stories of how they have been prompted by the spirit to not do or do things, but never did I EVER think it would happen to me. I guess you could say it was a humbling experience. Anyways, nothing else is really new with me, I am still just stayin busy with school and spending time with family and my niece and nephews. Hope all is well with all of you :)

Finally the 3rd

So I was thinking about how I miss and wish I was in, Thatcher. So I decided to get on my blog and read some of the entries I wrote while I was away for school, and I realized that since I have moved back to Mesa I have only posted 2 times. So this is the third! I had a great Christmas, and spending time with family that came down from Canada and surprised us. Then came the first day of school, and I was still very down and depressed that my life was going NOWHERE with no job or school, so I got online hoping to be able to finally find some open classes, and I did! I got registered for 4 classes, and I have never been so grateful for school. I am takin a first aid/cpr class, sociology, math, and nutrition. At the end of the semester I will be CPR certified and certified as a healthcare provider. It is an awesome class, it is my favorite class right now. If I was the witness of an emergency I know what to do and how to react and how to care for the victim until EMT arrive. My math teacher is from Bangladesh and is a horrible teacher. His name is Mamun Abdullah, if any of you are takin math at MCC in the future, do not get him. Just look him up on ratemyprofessors.com and you will see. School is keepin me busy, and I am lovin it. I made a trip to Thatcher last month, and it was nice to see everyone agin :) I can wait to go back to visit. Well I think that is it for now, sorry I haven't been as good with keeping up-to-date. I hope your all doin well :)

You can't dock in Cabo so little boats have to come get you and take you into Cabo, and this is a picture of our ship anchored.


We took a glass bottom boat out on the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean and there were sea lions swimming and a ton on this rock.

Me and Brooke shared a room and this is her falling asleep watching Shrek in her crib. She is obsessed with Shrek.


In Ensanada we went to La Bufadora and this is a pic of the water. It was VERY rainy that day, it was ridiculous.


The roads were all flooded and shops had no power. They were using brooms to sweep the water down the street to get rid of the water. There were mud slides that day and stuff, it was a crazy day.


The street was closed because a big tree fell over and they were cutting it up.
