Its a GIRL!!

Sorry for the delays for those of you who are still reading this blog....we have been very busy...we had our ultrasound on Sept 23 and found out we were having a girl!!! Things are still really busy here right now so in the next few weeks things should slow down again and I can update everything from mid August until now....until then...THINK PINK!!

Cousin Playdate

We ventured to the grandparents on friday evening for a fun filled weekend with Lucas' cousins!

My brother, his wife, and two children were visiting from Florida. We saw them in Decemeber when Lucas and I went there but before that it was December 2007.

Sydney is 3 and Declan is 17 months.....they had a great time! We only had 3 of the 5 grandkids there but it was still great...

Half of August!

Can you believe August is already half over???

August is bringing lots of new things and challenges for us. I have started working part time at Sylvan Learning Center as a tutor for Academic Reading and Academic Math. I have also beening working on the Creative/Service Projects Steering Team chair for my local MOPS group. John has already started back at school for his 3rd year of dental school!!!! 2 down and 2 to go....we are so proud of him and all that he as accomplished thus far. He has started seeing patients on a regular basis with classes in between. Lucas well he is 2 1/2!! He is going through a phase of waking up every few hours during the night because he needs covered, he can't find blanket, he needs to potty, he needs a drink.....it is crazy the stuff he needs at 3AM.

I am officially 14 weeks along and things are going well. I had all my labs done a week ago and things look great except for Vitamin D so I am taking a Vitamin D3 daily. We should be fiinding out in 6 weeks or so if we have a little girl or boy....

We are getting ready to head to the grandparents for the weekend. My brother and his family are visiting from Florida...it will be the first time we are all together since Dec 2007, be sure to watch for pictures!!

Little Man got his first bicycle!! He can ride it really well on the school parking lot up the street, he is apprehensive about riding it in the street. He is growing up!!!

We ventured home for a weekend to go my cousins bridal shower, my ten year reunion and the dedication of the Golden Fire Dept! Lucas loves fire trucks...it did take him a little while to warm up though!!

We took Lucas bowling for the first time....aren't the little bowling shoes so cute!! He didn't do to bad using the ramp....he just needed help putting a little muscle behind the ball....he ended with an 80 something....not bad for his first time!

August 1 : We took our first trip to pick blackberries and peaches....Lucas had alot of fun and did a great job picking the ripe ones!

Lack in posts

Sorry for the lack in post lately...but we have some big news for those that are still following this blog. We are expecting another baby in February 2010. I am almost 12 weeks right now and have been incredibly sick for the last 8 weeks; which is why there have been no new posts in a while. I am trying my best to make it through the day and have no energy at the end of the day to update. Now that I am getting some energy back, I will hopefully in the next day or 2 get this updated with pictures and happenings in our family!

We are still alive.....

Wow after almost a whole month of no blogging, I am not sure where to start.

June started off with a trip home to see the families....we left june 5 and got back 7, it was a short weekend trip. A good friend of ours had a surprise 30th birthday party. It is starting to get scary, our friends are turning 30!

On June 12th I took Lucas to the zoo for the day...we needed some mommy/son fun time. The days were starting to get crazy....we rode the train, saw the sea lion show, went to the childrens zoo, and had a picnic. We had a great time.

June 14th daddy decided Lucas needed a big boy haircut....I almost cried watching all of his blond hair come off....but it grows fast so we should be okay. He looks like a big now and not a toddler.

June 17th-21st Lucas and I spent at my mom and dads house, John joined us late on the 18th. I got a new haircut and highlights! Lucas got to play with his cousins for 3 days straight. They stayed with us thursday-sunday! It was a wild time but a great one....Thanks mom and dad!!

The end of May!

Wow it has been a while since I last updated this...sorry. I am not sure what has happend.

John had a week off from May 16-May 25....We went to the zoo on the 19th and had a great time. They have a new exhibit of stingrays...you can touch them and feed them. Lucas really enjoyed watching them swim by, he did touch one but that was it just one. They are really slimy. He has such a great time at the zoo talking about the animals and what they are doing. We will definately be going alot this summer.

On the 21st, Johns mom, grandmother, great grandmother, brother and brothers girlfriend came down to go to a Cardinals/Cubs game. It was a beautiful night for a game. It was Lucas' 2nd Major league game.

Memorial Day was a wet one. We had about 6-7 inches of rain in about 4 hours. Our street was flooded. Lucas kept saying look a river....it was a strong enough current to make caps. You can see by the pics it was a lot of water.

Lucas has been having lots of playdates. Tuesday and Thursday of this week Gracie came to visit for a few hours and then friday he got to go to her house and play. Friday evening, friends of ours had a date night and we watched their little girl Yani. She is so sweet. We went for a walk to the park and Lucas kept making her laugh. He asked to hold her which we thought was so great. He has never wanted to hold a baby before.

Well I think I am caught up for the month of May...hopefully June will be better!! :-)

Mushrooms, golf, teeth, and friends......

Interesting title I know...but that sums up the last two weeks for us!

John and Lucas went mushroom hunting a few weeks back and found 2 whole mushrooms...all the hunting tired Lucas out...here is the proof.The golf tourney John was in last week went well...they finished 4 under on 18. The weather was a big factor....it was raining, windy, then fine, then rainy again...here is a pic of his team.

On tuesday May 5th, myself and 2 other dental student spouses went to a local elementary school to promote good dental health. We spoke to 2 1st grade classrooms and a 2nd grade classroom. We had 20 minutes with each class...if you don't know 20 minutes flies by when you have 20 some students asking questions and making comments the whole time. Here are some pics of us. It was a great time!

This past weekend Lucas and I drove to Bloomington to see my college girlfriends! It was just a daytrip and lots of fun. Angie has a little boy who is 1 so Lucas and Logan played together for the first time. We went to MillerPark Zoo in Bloomington, had a group brunch...and just spent time hanging out.
