too tooooo long

It has been to long since I have posted....I should take the time and update you on what has been happening around here, but the thought of that right now makes me shake ;0). SO I'll sum it up.....Birthday's, summer trips to Utah, Fall trips to Disneyland, table refinishing, cabinet painting, family reunions, first day of 4th grade, and finally Halloween. So you now get to take a look at my minion and my mummy ;0)...

18 years

I'm a little past due on this...December 10th has come and gone...but still deserves a shout out...18 years I have been married to this kind, gentle wonderful man.. Here's to many more!!!

Catching up....AGAIN ;0)

Coming up with a costume for Ian at Halloween each year is always a challenge. It has to be something he'll wear, and not be distracted by. As you know he is VERY much into the movie UP...so this year... Russell ;0). It was an easy costume, thanks to my very hardworking Eagle Scout of a husband. The house is the best gift a friend could ever give Ian...it has flown many places. The balloons added the final touch. Eva wanted to be a witch. She told me she has wanted to be this for several years, and I "wouldn't let her". So this year, she picked out her own costume. I was only allowed hair and make up duties. I was strolling through Target one day and came upon the "dog" witch costume... It screamed "Purchase Me" for Molly... Come on she matched Eva ;0). We went to Trunk or Treat at the church, and Ron took the kids around Trick or Treating... All in all... A successful Halloween...

I wish I had Thanksgiving photos: But I do not ;0) We had an enjoyable day spent with Dan and Annette and Morgan... The boys weighed in for the poundage contest... I was promised that if I did no one would look. So I did, only to have Ron turn around and catch it...with a comment springing forth out of his mouth...Dang!! He was given the silent treatment after that!! I love that we have family only 45 minutes away... It makes holidays much sweeter!!
I know this is a blurry photo...but it's the only one I could get. Ian and Eva participated in Bowling with the Special Olympics. Ian LOVED it... Eva had a better time toward the end as she improved and could beat Ian...She has the Willis competitive nature. It doesn't take much to make Ian happy... I caught him one day last week after getting disciplined, finding joy in using my lipstick as a pin...and a piece of dog food as the ball. Needless to say we find all sorts of interesting bowling set ups around here... It was good for Ian to have something for him...Next up basketball!!!

Playing Catch up

Sometimes you wonder if anyone reads this blog...so you let it go, and then time moves on, and you feel well that's passed by maybe I should skip it. However, for my future posterity's sake, I'll post our past happenings ;0)

My kids started 3rd grade on September 6th. I can't believe it. It goes by quickly. Both were ready and excited to go back and so was their mother!!! Both the children have good teachers and are doing quite well. I am confident they get their smarts from their father...

For my birthday this year, Ron gave me a trip to Utah, without children, to visit my parents. Ron stayed back at the homestead and parented. The kids LOVED having him around, and it was good for all...especially Ian. Ian world is right when his dad is around. Eva did her own hair every day, and I heard from many that she always looked perfect...(so much like her dad ;0) ).. I LOVED spending time with family and friends and enjoying the 70 degree weather. It was wonderful to get away, but even better to return home...I even grabbed Ian out of school on my way home from the airport just to get a squeeze!! I shot this view of Mt. Rainier from my plane window on my flight home...what a welcome sight to welcome me back!

OK...so I am probably more excited about this than he was...but Kathie lee and Hoda did their part of the Today Show from Seattle and Ron was working as Seattle's finest... He texted me this photo...flattering shot I know. If you watch the video, you can see him in the background.. I feel so honored to be married to such a star...he's cute anyhow ;0).

So...those are just a few highlights...my life consists of volunteering in the classroom, cleaning, cooking, taking care of twins, dogs, and Relief Society...not too exciting... I'll try to be better at not letting the fun times pass and not be posted...until next time!!!

It's gonna take the month of August...to recover from July!!!

My twins were baptized by their father July 2, 2011. It was a fabulous day. We had quite a few family and friends with us. We were blessed. Eva and Ian were also baptized with their best friend Emma. Ron gave WONDERFUL confirmation prayers. My eyes were shot ;0). Ian loved getting baptized still talks about it every time we enter the church!! I am proud of their choice!!

Spent some time with family doing the "Seattle thing". Took the ferry across the sound, spent the day at Pikes Market...watched people at the Seattle center...All quite enjoyable!!

Ian didn't like the ferry...go figure...the kid will go on a roller coaster, but no way was he going out on the bough of the ship!!! Good thing Grandma and Grandpa were there to hug him!!!

At the end of the month we took a road trip to Utah to see the family that wasn't able to come up to the northwest... Eva LOVED being with my parents new dog Trix... She also took sewing lessons, spent the day crafting with her aunt..and was able to spend long awaited girl time with her favorite cousin Julia...Thanks all for being so kind to her!!

Ian meanwhile got to "hang" with the boys... spent some time with Uncle Jim at work, who made Ian's day by providing him with balloons...

Took my kids to "This is the Place" monument... Told them the same story I have heard many times...that THEIR great, great, great Grandfather is on the front of the monument (Standing by the horse) Erastus Snow and Orson Pratt were the first two pioneers into the valley, July 21, 1847. Very proud of my heritage!!

Spent some time with Willis cousins at Hogle Zoo. It was a hot day, but we enjoyed the family and the animals!!!

I loved seeing family and friends and spending time with them..but I have to admit the best part of the trip is coming over Chinook pass to see this...and knowing I'm almost home....

We've been home a few weeks now...and were all still recovering!!! ;0)
