Conglomeration of stuff

So life has been absolutely crazy these last few weeks, but here are some of the events and highlights.

First was after Thanksgiving, we went up to the mountains with Thomas's brother and sister and cut down our own trees. Sarah and I carried out 2 of the trees(yes it is heavier than it looks) without any hiccups (except when Sarah slipped on a rock and got squashed by the tree! he he he). Thomas and Steven carried out the other two and Thomas only fell through the ice twice, ha ha! After we loaded the trees in the back of our truck, it looked like one huge tree. All in all it was a fun trip and I can't wait to do it again!

The next noteworthy event was a family reunion on Thomas's side of the family and BHS show choir came and sang to us. It was cool because my sister-in-law Sarah and my brother Cody are both in the choir. I was bummed cause we couldn't go to their Christmas concert this year, but this performance cheered me up. The best part was when the kitchen sinks went out. We unplugged a sink and it all came out onto the floor, then about 10 minutes later, the other sink did the exact same thing. Yea for our boys and mops! LOL

Then we decorated gingerbread houses at my mom's house with my cousins. It was a blast! Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of theirs, but here is ours!

We didn't have any blue candy, so we made a red ice skating rink, the contraption to the left of the rink is supposed to be a 3 wheeler (we didn't have 4 wheels), the yellow stuff on top of the house is supposed to be smoke coming out of the chimney ha ha, then there is the snow angel and tree, both made by me.

And last but certainly not least, here is what happens when Thomas watches sports games. Ha ha ha ha

Girls Night Out

So this last weekend I had a girls night out with my mother and sisters-in-law. It was a blast! We started things off by going to an early premier of New Moon. As in we got to see it at 8 pm instead of the midnight showings. Trisha and I both won prizes (10$ movie passes) so it was definitely worth it! LOL, the movie was awesome and I thought the special effects were wayyyyyyy better than the first movie. I have to admit that I was always an Edward fan while reading the books, and still am, but the movie made it very hard to remain that way. Jacob was just so cute! Anyway, after the movie we stayed at a hotel and made thanksgiving center pieces. We each created our own, and I must say they all turned out amazing! I still can't believe my uncreative mind was able to put something like that together.

Then on saturday Thomas and I went to the BYU vs Air Force football game with his mom, dad and sister and it was cooooollld! But it was definitely fun! After such a fun filled weekend, I have been sleeping all day to try and recooperate but it was all worth it! Thanks again to those who made it happen!

Slow on the uptake.......

So....... I was reading my past blog entries the other day and realized that people had been commenting on my posts!!! I had no idea and now i feel bad! I haven't been ignoring anyone, i was just totally unaware (one of the things I hate most) so I apologize and will try and notice when comments are made. Thanks for reading!

Elena's big day

So a couple of weeks ago, my old roomie Elena got married and I got to be there with my other old roomie Angela (no pun intended on the "old" he he) It was such a great day and I loved every minute of it. Here are some of my favorite pics from the day :)

Anywho, the day was a blast, and I got to spend a lot of quality time with Angela, which was more than I could ask for.

The big 2-5

It's official, at least a quarter of my life is over..... lol, cheery thought isn't it? All in all it was a good birthday. I got to relax and just enjoy the day, which was definitely needed. Due to the numerous football games that day, my celebration took place later that night. It wasn't a big thing, just family, but it was fun. We played "Word on the Street" which is really fun and I am horrible at! Thomas was really thoughtful as far as presents go, my two favorites from him were a jacket that says "Stars Hollow, Connecticut" (For those who don't know, I am a huge Gilmore Girl fan) and a piano!!! Not a real one, it is digital, but it will be perfect for our apartment years and allow me to dink around, which I haven't been able to do since I started college. He wasn't the only one who got me presents and I loved everyone's gifts. Here are some pics from the night.

A few days later, my old roomie Elena took me out to dinner and a movie "The Time Travelers Wife" and I am still trying to figure out how i felt about it....... but rest of the evening was great! I had a great birthday!

The truck

This is the car we sold. :(

So a couple of months ago, we sold one of our cars and bought a truck. I was not happy about the exchange for a couple of reasons. 1. We sold my favorite car. It was a stick, i liked how it drove, the color, and basically i was just partial to it (dumb i know) 2. A truck doesn't get as good gas mileage nor is it easy to manuever. 3. I would be the one driving it because Thomas commutes every day and I drive 15 minutes to and from work, total. Needless to say it has taken me a while to warm up to it. So i figured i needed to document this "big change" in our lives. :) My favorite event with the truck happened about a month ago. The latch that kept the drivers seat locked in place had broken over the weekend and we hadn't had time to get it fixed. So Monday comes around and I have to drive it to work. Here is what happened:

I put it in drive and pushed the gas (gently cause i knew the seat wasn't stable) and the force of it sent the seat flying all the way back, as far as you can get from the gas pedals. That movement took my foot off the gas, which caused the truck to slow down, which in turn sent the seat all the way forward, as close to the gas pedal as possible. This caught me unawares and so my foot hit the gas pedal again, not intentionally, and of course that sent the truck forward as I, yet again, flew back in the seat only to rip my foot off the gas pedal, cause a slowdown and send me right back forward again. This happened at least 3 times in a row before i could stop my foot from hitting the gas. I finally came to a stop (in the middle of the road) and decided to try the gas even more gently, however, the same scenario ensued. Luckily there weren't many cars on the road so I didn't cause any immediate traffic hazard. After that, I grabbed the steering wheel, locked my arms so the seat would stay all the way back, and pointed my toe to try and reach the gas. This worked and I made it to work safe and sound. At first i was furious, and then i couldn't stop laughing at how ridiculous the situation was. This, ladies and gentlemen, is our truck! :)

P.S. Thomas fixed the seat and it works just fine now!

Busy Weekend

This weekend we were up in Bountiful for conference...... well I was, Thomas went on the elk hunt. He got his elk and was so excited about it! These are a few pics, lol, enjoy :)





While he was off shooting, i was haning out with my cousins. We had a blast and sang a lot of songs while Cody and Nikki played the piano.

Then, once Thomas came home, we hung out at his house. Here is a picture of our neices and nephew. I believe it captures their personalities and we had a good time taking the pics, waiting fo the baby to roll off the laps of the little girls, but she didn't! ha ha
