Purple Tutorial

Minulta kysellään tutoriaaleja aina silloin tällöin ja tykkään tehdä niitä, mutta olen vain kovin laiska. Nyt sain onneksi inspiraation ottaa kuvat tämän päivän meikin tekemisestä. Joku on myös kysellyt videoiden perään, mutta niitä tuskin tullaan näkemään. Katson itse todella harvoin meikkivideoita, koska tykkään kuvista enemmän.

1. Lähtötilanne. Luomi on pohjustettu (Milanin pohjustaja) ja kulmaluulle on levitetty Inglotin M351 sävyä. Olen myös taivuttanut ripset.

1. Use a primer and apply ivory shade to the brow bone. (I used Milani's Eyeshadow Primer and Inglot's ivory M351.)

2. Seuraavaksi levitin Inglotin melko tummanviolettia DS494 sävyä luomivakoon. Nostan varjostusta aika paljon ylöspäin meikeissäni, koska minulla on raskaat luomet.

2. Next I applied Inglot's dark purple DS494 to the crease. 

3. Seuraavaksi jatkoin varjostusta Inglotin M325 sävyllä, joka on hieman punertavampi kuin 494.

3. Next I applied Inglot's M325 above 494. This shade is a bit redder.

4. Rajasin alaluomen violetilla kynällä. Kynä toimi vain luomivärin pohjustuksena, joten jäljen ei tarvitse olla kovin huoliteltua.

4. I lined my lower lid with purple eye pencil. It works as a base for the eyeshadow, so no worries if it doesn't look all smooth.

 5. Levitin pienellä siveltimellä Sugarpillin Poison Plum -luomiväriä alaluomelle ja nostin varjostusta vielä aavistuksen ylöspäin.

5. Then I used a small brush to apply Sugarpill's Poison Plum to lower eyelid and above the crease. 

6. Lisäsin liikkuvalle luomelle ja sisänurkkaan hieman kullanhohtoista, vaaleaa luomiväriä Isadoran 'Coffee & Poetry' -paletista. Häivytin ja pehmensin myös luomivärin reunaa tällä samalla sävyllä.

6. Next I added warm, shimmery eyeshadow from Isadora's Coffee & Poetry palette to the lid and inner corner. I also blended the edges with the same shade to make them softer.

7. Seuraavaksi musta, nestemäinen rajaus. Rajauksin voisi tehdä hyvin myös kynällä, mutta tiedätte, että en välitä niin paljon kynistä.

7. Next: black liquid liner. One could use an eye pencil, but I prefer liquid ones.

8. Viimeisenä vielä kulmat ja ripsiväri. Tähän meikkiin sopisi hyvin myös musta sisärajaus, mutta omat silmäni vuotavat helposti noiden rajausten takia, joten jätin pois. Myös tekoripset olisivat antaneet vielä vähän enemmän näyttävyyttä.

8. Final touches: eyebrows and mascara. I could've added inner liner, but it usually makes my eyes water. And false lashes would've looked good too. 

Tästä kokokasvokuvasta näkee, kuinka vähän luomivärit loppujen lopuksi näkyvät. Tykkäsin tosi paljon tästä meikistä. Violetit silmät yhdistettynä rusehtavaan huulipunaan näyttää itse asiassa tosi kivalta.

As you can see from the full face picture, my hooded lids hide most of the eyeshadows. I really liked this look with the rose/brownish lips.

Tutorial: Sparkling Zodiac

Kiitos kaikille, jotka ovat tähän mennessä jo osallistuneet arvontaan. Muutamassa vastauksessa oli pyyntö tehdä tutoriaali  Kauneuslinnan blogitapahtumassa olleesta meikistä. Tässäpä tämä tulee. :)

Here's a tutorial of the look I wore to the blog event couple of weeks ago.

1. Levitin ensin koko luomelle UDPP:n, koska pelkkä kynä ei riitä pohjustukseen itselläni. Kulmaluulla on Inglotin M351 (ivory). Yves Rocherin Marine Vert kynää on levitetty melko suurpiirteisesti koko liikkuvalle luomelle ja myös vähän yli.

1. First I applied UDPP. On my browbone I have Inglot's M351(ivory). Yves Rocher's Marine Vert pencil is applied on the whole lid and a bit over it (it doesn't have to look pretty and even).

2. Seuraavaksi Urban Decayn Zodiac luomiväri taputellaan/panellaan kynän päälle (käytän itse tähän vaahtomuoviapplikaattoria) ja häivytetään luomivärin yläreunaa.

2. Next pat Urban Decay's Zodiac on top of the pencil (I use eyeshadow applicators) and then blend the edges. 

 3. Seuravana rajasin alaluomen Make Up Factoryn kajalilla 28 Petrol Blue (aivan ihana kynä).

3. Next I lined my lower lid with Make Up Factory's khol 28 Petrol Blue (I love that pencil).

4. Jatketaan rajauksilla, eli yläluomelle musta rajaus (ei ole pakko olla siipimäinen). Tällä hetkellä minulla on käytössä Sensain Liquid Eyeliner.

4. Let's continue with lining upper lid with black eyeliner (line doesn't have to be wing shaped). I'm using Sensai's Liquid Eyeliner. 

5. Sitten vielä kulmien värittäminen ja ripsiväri (tekoripset ovat huikeat tämä meikin kanssa, mutta olin menossa kirpparille, joten jätin ne pois). Häivytin luomivärin ja kynän rajoja vielä hiukan Diorin Bonne Etoile -paletin vaaleanturkoosilla.

5. Final step is filling your eyebrows and mascara (false eyelashes work like charm with this look, but I was going to a flea market, so I skipped that part). :) I use Dior's Bonne Etoile palette's light aqua to blend the edges a bit.

- Yves Rocher: Intense Eye Pencil 'Vert Marine'

Eye Shadows:

- Inglot: M351 (ivory)

- Urban Decay: Zodiac

- Dior: Bonne Etoile (light turquoise)

Eyeliner:

- Kanebo: Liquid Eyeliner

- Make Up Factory: 28 Petrol Blue

- L'oreal: Million Lashes

Toivottavasti tästä on apua ja iloa. Todella yksinkertainen ja näyttävä meikki. Ja samaa kaavaa voi käyttää mille väreille vain. :)

Drag Me To Hell

Idea tähän meikkiin tuli Stay Beautiful blogin Robynilta. Hän oli tehnyt upean drag -meikin ja halusin pitkästä aikaa käyttää sunnuntai-iltapäivän kokeilemalla omaa versiotani aiheesta. En normaalisti tee kovin selkeitä varjostuksia, joten tässäkin ne on tehty suht kevyellä kädellä (vaikka tuntui, että naama oli aivan oranssi).

Idea for today's post came from Stay Beautiful blog's lovely Robyn. She did a gorgeous drag look and I wanted to try my own version. I don't usually have heavy contouring, so it felt really weird to have almost half of my face orange.

Aloitin meikkipohjasta. Kasvon reunoilla selkeästi tummempi meikkivoide ja poskipäillä ja otsassa taas hieman omaa ihoani vaaleampaa. Kulmakarvojen peittämiseen on käytetty liimapuikkoa. Tosin en saanut kulmia niin hyvin peittoon kuin olisin toivonut.

I started with the foundation. I applied much darker shade to the edges my face and lighter on in the middle. I used a glue stick to cover my eyebrows. It didn't as well as I hoped this time. 

Sitten lähdin tekemään silmämeikkiä. Tein sen vähän sinnepäin, enkä oikein tykkää lopputuloksesta. Pitää joskus käyttää vähän enemmän aikaa ja suunnitella paremmin. En ole tietenkään tottunut siihen, että kulmakarvat ovat melkein pari senttiä korkeammalla, joten varjostukset ovat liian alhaalla.

Then I started applying the eyeshadows. I'm not really that happy with the result. I need to try this again some day and use more time. I'm not used to having my eyebrows that high, so the eyeshadow in the crease is a bit too low now.

Sitten jatkoin vielä kasvojen varjostamista aurinkopuuterilla ja lisäsin poskipunaa. Varjostin myös nenää ensimmäistä kertaa ja siltä se vähän näyttääkin. ;) Huulista tykkään, mutta vasta nyt valokuvista näkee, että ne olisi voineet olla vieläkin överimmät. Silmämeikki vaatii tietysti irtoripset ja otin käyttöön järeät aseet. Ripset ovat Grimasin. Ihan valtavan pitkät, mutta todella kevyet.

I continued contouring my face with a bronzer and added blush. Also contoured my nose for the first time and it looks like it. ;) I really like my lips, although they could've been even more over the top. Eye make up requires falsies and I used my biggest ones (they are from Grimas). Super long, but quite light to wear.

Kaukaa katsottuna kulmakarvat eivät häiritse, mutta läheltä näkee, että ne ovat aika epätasaisesti peitetty. Sitten laitoin vielä blondin peruukkini päähän ja eipä minua enää tunnistakaan. :)

As you can see in the close-up photo my own eyebrows show underneath the glue and concealer. After all that I only added my blond wig and became almost unrecognizable. :)

Tutorial: Minty Plum

Halusin tehdä eilisen meikin uudestaan ja aamulla minulla oli myös aikaa ottaa kuvat tutoriaalia varten.

I wanted to re-make my yesterday's look and this morning I had time to take pictures for a tutorial.

1. Koko luomi on pohjustettu (minulla käytössä UDPP).
1. Add primer to your whole lid (I'm using UDPP).

2. Lisäsin liikkuvalle luomelle NYXin valkoista pohjustajaa (Eyeshadow Base, White) ja kiinnitin sen kevyesti puuterilla.
2. I added NYX's white Eyeshadow Base on the lid (and patted some powder on top of it).

3. Painelin mintunvihreän luomivärin (Grimas 481) valkoisen pohjustajan päälle. Käytin tässä meikissä vaahtomuoviapplikaattoreita, koska ne toimivat mielestäni parhaiten mattasävyjen kanssa.
3. I patted the mint green eyeshadow (Grimas 481) on top of the white primer. I used the sponge applicators for this whole make up. Imo, they work best with matte shadows.

4. Seuraavaksi levitin valkoista luomiväriä (Grimas 002) kulmaluulle ja sisäkulmaan.
4. Then I added white eyeshadow (Grimas 002) to my browbone and inner corner.

5. Seuraavaksi fuksian väristä luomiväriä (Grimas 572) luomivakoon ja ulkonurkkaan hieman siipimäisesti. (Häivytän yleensä luomivärejä samalla kuin levitän.)
5. Next I added the fuschia eyeshadow (Grimas 572) to the crease and outer corner (I made it a bit wing-shaped). I usually blend the shadows as I put them on.

6. Lisäsin luumun sävyä (Grimas 681) vielä ulkonurkkaan tuomaan syvyyttä. Samaa sävyä on myös alaluomen ulkonurkassa.
6. I added a bit of plum shadow (Grimas 681) to the outer corner to give some depth. I used the same shade on lower lid also.

7. Musta rajaus tekee ihmeitä.
7. Black eyeliner does wonders to this look.

8. Ja viime silauksena ripisiväri ja kulmat, niin lopputulos näyttää oikein sievältä. :)
8. And last but not least some mascara and filling my eyebrows. Cute, eh? :)

Tutorial: Brown Eye Make Up

Siirrytäänpäs sitten melko vastakkaiseen suuntaan kuin viime postauksissa. Käytän arkena melko usein ruskeaa silmämeikkiä ja ajattelin, että sen avulla on helppo tehdä tutoriaali. Periaatteessa tällä samalla kaavalla voi tehdä ihan minkä värisen silmämeikin vain.
Then something completely different. :) I use brown eye make up quite often during the weekdays and I thought it's easy to use as an example in a tutorial. I could've used pretty much any color here, but I chose brown this time. 

Tämä silmämeikki on melko yksinkertainen: kolme luomiväriä (vaalea matta, tummanruskea ja vaaleanruskea), rajaus, ripsiväri ja kulmaväri. 

This look is quite simple, you need: 3 eyeshadows (light matte, dark & light brown), eyeliner, mascara and brow color.

1. Levitä luomivärin pohjustaja (itselläni Malu Wilz) koko luomelle ja vaaleaa mattaluomiväriä (Inglot M351) kulmaluulle sekä sisänurkkaan/puoleen väliin liikkuvaa luomea. 

Apply eye shadow primer (I used Malu Wilz) all over the lid and light matte shadow (Inglot M351) on the brow bone and inner corner/halfway through the lid.

2. Levitä tummanruskeaa (Inglot DS.458) luomiväriä ulkonurkkaan ja luomivakoon/hieman sen yläpuolelle.

Apply dark brown shadow (Inglot DS.458) to the outer corner and in the crease/a bit above the crease.

3. Häivytä rajoja käyttämällä vaaleanruskeaa (Inglot DS.502) luomiväriä.

Use the lighter brown shadow (Inglot DS.502) to blend the edges.

4. Lisää tummanruskeaa luomiväriä myös alaluomelle. Itselläni tämä tekee meikistä hieman intensiivisemmän.

Apply dark brown to the lower lid. I use this to make the make up more intensive.

 

 

5. Tässä toiseen silmään on tehty rajaus, laitettu ripsiväriä ja lisätty kulmaväri. Ero on aika suuri toiseen silmään verrattuna.

Here I have eyeliner, mascara and brow color on the other eye. Makes quite a difference, eh?

6. Tässä kummatkin silmät meikattuna, vaikka toinen silmä näyttää edelleen erilaiselta. Silmäni eivät ole samaa paria keskenään. Ne ovat eri korkeuksilla ja aavistuksen eri muotoiset. (Tuottaa välillä harmia meikatessa.)

Here's the finished look, although the other eye still looks bit different. My eyes aren't identical. Other one is a bit lower and they are not exactly the same shape. (Which causes me gray hairs every once in a while.)

Tämän tyylinen meikki käy melkein kaikkien silmille, mutta varsinkin, jos sinulla on raskaat luomet (kuten itselläni), niin tämä toimii todella hyvin. Vaalea väri liikkuvalla luomella ja tumma varjostus saavat silmät näyttämään suuremmilta. Tällaiseen neutraaliin meikkiin on myös ihana yhdistää punaiset huulet. <3 Toivottavasti jollekin on tästä hyötyä. :) 

I think this kind of make up compliments pretty much everyone's eyes, but it works especially well if you have heavy eye lids like I do. The lighter color on the lid and dark crease color make the eyes look bigger. I usually like to pair this kind of eye make up with red lips. <3 I hope someone will find this useful. :)   

Bright Sunset - Eye Make Up Tutorial

Monet lähtivät juhlimaan juhannusta mökeille, mutta meillä pysyttiin ihan vaan kotona. Minulla oli siis aikaa kuvata kohta kohdalta, kuinka teen silmämeikin. Olen tehnyt vastaavia meikkejä aiemminkin, mutta en tiedä, miksi en ole ottanut kuvia.
Many Finish people have been celebrating the midsummer festivities this weekend, I stayed home and this gave me the excuse to do a step-by-step eye make up tutorial (finally I had time for this). I've done this kind of look before, but for some reason I've never taken any pictures.

Meikissä on käytetty Sugarpillin 'Burning Heart'-palettia sekä Dollipop-luomivärinappia ja Grimasin 002 sävyä (luonnonvalkoista).
I used Sugarpill's 'Burning Heart' palette, Dollipop pressed eye shadow and Grimas 002 shade (off white).

1. Alkutilanne. Puhdas iho (vain kosteusvoidetta). 

1. The beginning. Cleansed skin (only moisturizer).

2. Luomilla Malu Wilz Eye Shadow Base ja iholle on levitetty meikkivoide ja puuteri (ei kovin suuri ero alkutilanteeseen). 

2. Malu Wilz Eye Shadow Base on the lids, foundation and powder elsewhere. (Not that much different from the first picture.)

3. Grimasin 002 sävy levitetty kulmaluulle ja sisäkulmaan. (Puuterijarrut silmien alla, koska kirkkaat ja tummat värit monesti varisevat.)

3. Grimas shade 002 on browbone and inner corner. (I've put loose powder under my eyes to prevent the bright shadows from staining my skin.) 

4. Love+ silmän ulkonurkkaan ja melkein puoliväliin asti (ei tarvitse vielä häivyttää).

4. Love+ on the outer corner and almost halfway through the lid (no blending yet).

5. Dollipop sisäkulmaan ja Flamepoint luomivakoon. Levitetään hieman punaisen ja pinkin värin päälle.

5. Dollipop on the inner corner and Flamepoint to crease. It's blended a bit over red and pink shadow.

6. Buttercupcake levitetään ylimmäksi ja sen avulla häivytetään rajat pehmeiksi. Alaluomelle on lisätty ulkonurkkaan Love+ ja keskelle Dollipop.

6. Buttercupcake is spread above Flamepoint and it's used to blend the edges. Love+ and Dollipop are added to lower lid.

7. Lisäsin vielä keltaista alaluomella sisänurkkaan. Meikki näyttää vielä melko oudolta ja hurjalta ilman rajauksia.

7. I added yellow to lower lid. The make up is still looking a bit weird and wild without any liner. 

 8. Musta rajaus tuo meikkiin heti ryhtiä. Itse teen melkein aina ns. siipirajauksen, joka jatkuu silmän ulkoreunan yli. Se saa silmän näyttämään suuremmalta ja sopii silmän muotooni. 

8. Black eye liner brings the whole look together. I usually make winged eye liner because it makes my eyes look bigger and suits the shape of my eye.

9. Viimeisenä vielä ripsiväri, kulmaväri ja sisärajaus vaalealla.

9. Finishing touches: mascara, eye brow color and light inner liner. 

Yllättävän vaikea tehdä tutorialia (ainakin sanallisesti). Toivottavasti kuvat kertovat puolestaan. :) Mutta teen varmasti jotain tällaista uudestaankin. 

This was surprisingly hard to do (the literal part, anyway). I hope the pics speak for themselves. :) But I'll be doing something like this again.
