Just because...

San Francisco

In July, I went to San Francisco with Michelle, Kristen and her friend Tracy. We had a great time. I wish that I could post all of the pictures of the many things we did but these are just some of the highlights.
Our first stop was at the Oakland Temple. We flew in and out of Oakland and made sure that the temple was one of the places we visited while we were there.

We took a city tour for a few hours one day. Stopping at the Golden Gate Bridge was one of the more popular stops. We saw a lot more of this bridge but this is our first visit and one with a good picture of all of us.

Here is Michelle on one of our tour stops. The house on the far left of this picture was the house used in the filming of the T.V. show "Full House".

We took a tour out to Alcatraz. The last time I was in San Francisco, I didn't get to stop there. They have an audio tour that takes you through the prison and tells stories about the inmates. It was very informational.

Having ice cream at Ghiradelli Square was one of the highlights of our trip. We enjoyed this treat a couple of times.

Michelle and I decided that we wanted to rent bikes and bike across the Golden Gate Bridge. Kristen and Tracy went to see "Wicked" and we went for a nice, casual ride! We figure we biked about 12 miles and as you can see from this picture, we could have gone a lot longer. It was something that I will always remeber doing.

Michelle celebrated hwe birthday while we were gone. Here is a photo of her opening some of the presents that came along on the trip. We visited Muir Woods and spent some time on the beach...

Yes, I guess technically I am a tree hugger...at least in the picture. This is me trying to show just how large some of the red wood trees are.

Who can go to San Franciso and not ride the trolley. We were able to ride a couple of times. What an adventure!

One of the things that I really wanted to do on the trip was to go to a baseball game. We drove over to Oakland and watched the A's take on the Texas Rangers. It was a great game and the A's pulled off the win in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs. GO A's!!!

What is a baseball game without hotdogs, nachos and a diet coke?

This was an amazing trip and one that I needed a great deal. I had a wonderful time and would love to visit San Francisco again!

A new sport...

Since high school, Michelle has had a phobia about golfing. (A story worth hearing if she is willing to share) This summer we have had the chance to lessen that phobia by going golfing a couple of times. This is a sport that I don't participate in very often...we kind of have a love/hate relationship. Anyone who has golfed before knows this feeling. We have had fun and will continue to work on our golf game. The LPGA better be ready! :)

Summer Camping

In July, the Lowe's invited Michelle and I to go camping with them. The girls took the trailer up the to campsite and parked it with minimal trouble or stress. (Way to go Lisa!) The boys came up the next day. We spent a few days enjoying some great weather, good food, playing in the creek and just relaxing. Thanks for a great camping trip!

Summer Fun at the Zoo

Earlier in the summer, Michelle and I took Evan, Avery and Zac to the zoo. Amanda, Kristian and Addi met us there. It was a very HOT day at the zoo but we had a great time. The kids loved seeing all the animals. We rode the carousel, watched the bird show and finished our day riding the fastest train in Utah!

Temple Open House

On June 12th, the Young family was down for Braden's baptism and while they were in town we decided to visit the Oquirrh Mountian Temple open house. Amanda and Jon were able to come with their kids. Dallin was even brave enough to joy in on the fun. It was great to have so many family members together to visit such a beatiful place. Thanks to everyone for make the effort to come.

New House

On June 17th, I closed on my townhouse and was able to move most of my things in on the 19th. It was a very exhausting couple of days getting things moved up here and I am still in boxes but I have enough settled to live. I want to thank all of those people who helped my with my move...either bringing furniture from Boise, packing box after box, spending hours to load and minutes to unload. Thanks to all my wonderful family and friends for helping make this move.

Okay, so I thought for a long time that I would not join the band wagon and create a blog. I guess I felt like I wouldn't have anything interesting to share with others. I don't know that I have anything INTERESTING to share but I have been making some changes that I would like you to see. Stay tuned for more information!
