The BIG NEWS

Well I haven't posted for awhile...not because we didn't have anything to post....just because I was waiting.  We found out in October that Baby #3 is on it's way to the David Family and we couldn't be more excited.  Because of my last pregnancy and my miscarriage the Dr has been watching us very carefully and we decided to keep in on the "down low" for a little while.  I will be 11 weeks on Wednesday and so far so good.  We have had 3 ultrasounds and have seen the heartbeat in 2 of the three (the first one was too early).  That little thump thump makes my heart so happy.  The kids are so extremely excited.  They have known the whole time and have been very good about keeping our secret.  Harlee of course wants a girl and Trayton is hoping for a boy.  Here are two funny stories from each of their prospectives:

Harlee tells her primary teacher that we are having a baby and Rhonda asks her what she wants it to be and Harlee says : "Well that is where the problem lies....I want a sister and Trayton wants a brother and my mom says this is the last kid so one of us going to be disappointed"  She then tells Rhonda that "if it is a brother that is ok because since I was 1 year old I have had an imaginary sister named Curly so I guess that will still work."  Rhonda tried her hardest to explain that it isn't mommy's choice what we have it is up to Heavenly Father....I am still not sure she bought into that though.  They keep begging me to choose sides.

Trayton says to me the other day at lunch.  "Mommy it is ok if our baby is a sister cause Harlee really wants a sister and she already told me that I am her favorite and that I still will be her favorite even if it is a sister".  How sweet is that?

Both of the kids have been very concerned this time about it "working out".  They both have had alot of questions about why the last one didn't "work out".  One day we were driving in the car and Trayton asked me if it was "working out" and I told him that things were still looking good and he says "Mommy I think Jesus was up there in Heaven holding our baby from last time and decided that maybe we really did need it and and threw it right into your belly".  I had to take and minute and gain my composure before I told him that I thought he was right.   He is so sweet.  His concern is amazing for a little 4 year old.

I am glad they are both excited and and so grateful to our Father in Heaven that everything is going ok.  Our due date is June 26th, but the baby will likely be born a week before due to a c-section.  We can't wait!!!!

Moving Mountains

I have a sign in Trayton's room that says " let him sleep for when he wakes he will move mountains" today he tried to do that.  It seems that all major landmarks in his life are surrounded by a distinguished mountain.  Grandma Lou lives at the base of the mountain, uncle Nic and grandpa and grandma live by "M Hill" and aunt Dayna and aunt Tessa live in Pocatello near the mountains.  Trayton is always watching for "the mountain" when we travel.  On the way to Pocatello today Trayton asked me "mom what mountain is by our house" I told him that we didn't really have one and he said "we'll then I am going to ask Jesus in my prayers if he could move a mountain closer to my house so I can have one and know I am almost home" LET HIM SLEEP FOR WHEN HE WAKES HE WILL MOVE MOUNTAINS!

Yellowstone

Our school still has Harvest Break which means the kids are out of school for 2 weeks so they can help in the fields.  Obviously, our kids are too small to help in the fields but we take advantage of the time off.  This year we went to Yellowstone.  The weather forecast was COLD!  The high for our trip was 43 degrees and the low was 8.  We took the camper and bundled up tight.  The first day we stopped over at Henry's Lake to fish with Grandma Lou and Bill.  The weather was too cold to fish but we had fun playing football, card games, and watching movies.

Later that day we headed to the Old Faithful Geyser.

This is us standing in front of the Yellowstone Lodge.  Rick's Great Grandpa Littleford helped build this lodge.  He told Rick that they used to have to chase the bears out by banging on the floor every morning before they could start working.

The next day we went over to Cody, Wyoming to the Wild Buffalo Bill museum.  The kids loved this and the drive over there was amazing.  On our way home we saw a Grizzly Bear with her cub and 4 big horn sheep. 

The next day we went through alot of the park.  We saw many geysers, hot pots, and saw lots of animals.  We saw 4 bull elk that were amazingly huge animals, coyotes, deer, antelope.  I spent alot of time taking pictures of them, but we will save those for another time.  We went and saw the upper and lower waterfalls and decided to hike clear down this staircase that was attached to the side of the canyon wall.  It was over 300 stairs.  I was so nervous taking the kids down there, but it was an amazing sight.  I don't know if my legs were shaking from fear or from the roaring of the falls.


We had such a fabulous time and are so blessed to have this great wonder created from God so close to our home.  

Harvest time

We harvested our pumpkins last week.  I have to admit I am proud.  The two big ones on the left were grown by grandma Lou and we grew the rest.  It is the first time I have ever got them to grow

Trying to Be Better

I finally took a minute to look at my friend Joddi Murdock's blog and can I just say she is AMAZING.  She has posted more in the last week than I have in the last year.  She has such a cool documentation of their lives through her blog.....ok Joddi I am going to try and be better, you have inspired me.  I often think I don't have anything to post about, but the cool thing about her blog is it is just posts of their everyday life, which is quite the life I have to say, so if she has something to post so should I right?  So I thought I would post about a day in life of the David Family (during Harvest Break)..

A day in the life of Rick....
Well, I am not there to take pictures of him, but he is working hard at IME and having a crazy day I am sure!  I can bet that he has been bidding, supervising jobs, and keeping everything in line.  We are grateful for Rick and for all that he does.

When Rick gets home tonight he is going to get us ready for camping in the snow this weekend!

A day in the life of Sari....
Today I have tried to accomplish many things and that is what I feel like I spend my whole life doing.  I have done loads and loads of laundry (actually folded and put them away too), I have worked on my conference stuff for work, ran financials, and other misc work items, I have ordered shirts for the PTA fundraiser that I am helping to head up, I have worked on our Primary Program that I am in charge of writing, I have packed snow clothes for our camping trip to Yellowstone (brrrrrrr) and I have made a special treat for the family for our camping adventure. 

I still need to make dinner, take Harlee to dance, and go grocery shopping.  I hope I get to go to bed at some point tonight :-)  Being a stay at home working mommy is exhausting sometimes but so rewarding because I get to enjoy this.....

A day in the life of Harlee and Trayton....
They have spent the day PLAYING (oh how would it be to be a child again).  The kids are on Harvest Break for 2 weeks so they don't have school.  They have spent the day playing together.  They have played dress up, Polly Pockets, cops and robbers, board games, and currently DISNEYLAND.  They came scooting through my kitchen on a blanket singing "it's a small world after all" they also had a Peter Pan ride, splash mountain etc.  Oh yes and they didn't forget their umbrellas cause they know we really needed those last year on our trip.

Christmas

We had a fabulous Christmas. We spent Christmas Eve at my mom and dad's and had so much fun. We pulled the kids in the sleighs behind the horses and had an ugly sweater contest, which was so much fun. The kids were so cute on Christmas morning. They were so fun opening their presents.
