November

November was a very strange month. We had Veteran's Day, parent teacher conferences, a trip to Havasu...then the weirdness happened...fires across Yorba Linda, possible landslides, no oven at home...the list kept growing. Even though my home in Corona was never in danger, so many of my friends were in harm's way. Dad kept mocking me calling me Command Central. When you think about it, I spend more time in YL and my classroom than at home. I worried about numerous families. Then we had to try to make everything normal at school. I tild the kdis it was a new kind of normal. To top it all off, my very dear friend had her house broken into and popped a tire on the freeway. Bad mojo. Anyway, we were glad to have the month over.

Okay, so I am really tardy, but here is the first day of school.

Tennessee Twins

We just got back from an 8 day visit with my new twin nephews. Ryan and Thomas are now about 8 weeks old. Both are growing rapidly and Ryan is over 8 pounds already! Thomas will be catching him soon. Nolan and Cole helped with feeding and a few diaper changes. They thoroughly enjoyed seeing their new cousins. I know they had a bit of cabin fever, but they were such good sports about it. This was their first time flying as well, so that was a new, exciting adventure for them. Tennessee's weather was great. It was actually more humid in CA than in Nashville. We can't wait to see them in November for the baptism and Thanksgiving.

Staycation #3

Well, this staycation has to do with rock and roll...and I don't mean from the radio. Nothing is quite like a So Cal earthquake while you are at a hospital. Nolan had his echo cardiogram today. Right after the procedure, the EQ started. I believe the rollers under the hospital added to our ride! I was a bit nervous going into the parking structure to retrieve the car. I was surprised, sadly, at the inadequacy of the cell phones in the event of an emergency. We had some minor damage to my china hutch and a coffee table. I think the dog may never recover...he has been by my side since I got home.

BTW...we will get the ultrasound results on Thursday regarding Nolan's heart.

Nolan's Heart

We all know has a big heart! There have been some real issues for him...fainting and rapid heart rate. I took him to the cardiologist today and he is fine. He had an EKG that turned out to be normal. The doctor does want an ultrasound of his heart just to be sure. I will update the blog as soon as we know any info.

Baseball Camp

Nolan had a great time at baseball camp all week. Camp was at Esperanza High School and the coach was actually a coach when Bill went there...how many years ago??? They brought out the radar gun and had the kids pitch. Nolan got 45 mph. I have no idea if that is good, but it sounded impressive to me. We had a great BBQ at my friend, Priya's house. All the boys had a great time swimming and eating. I think he wants to do it again next year.
