WHOA SLACKER!!!

Seriously I don't think I could have slacked more!!! APRIL c'mon I'm better than that! Anyway-I won't go thru everything that we've done in the last 4+ months but it's been busy and fun! We did take a nice LOOOONG trip to Wisconsin in July. Sara and I went for a week and then Daddy joined us for a second week. We had soooooo much fun, and it was definitely the highlight of our summer!

For those of us who don't know, I have started watching my niece Maddie and nephew Grayson, Monday thru Friday. This started on April 23rd...wait a sec, that seems to mysteriously be around the time of my last blog! So needless to say, having 3 children three and under all week has made for some busy, crazy, interesting, and wonderful days!

So this is my formal apology for being such a slacker...I'm sorry! I promise to be better about updates and pictures. Especially for those new empty nesters that are looking for someone to pester. (Love ya Aunt Jan!!)

Sara's reading!!!!

So Sara's teacher started sending home this little mini books to introduce reading. The first one was sent home today, and in classic Sara fashion she had to do! The book is part of their reading curriculum and is called "Mat". So her and I sat down and I showed her how to sound out the words. This is something that we've been working on in the past few weeks, but just when we are out and about and most of the time she would take a guess at the word after the first 2 sounds. But today it actually clicked! She practiced a few times with me, and then couldn't wait to show Daddy when he got home! So while she was reading to Daddy I snuck out the camera and took a video. Of course I was at the end of the memory on my camera so I only got a little snipit of her reading. It's pretty quiet as well so you'll need to turn your volume up too...I had to be sneaky!

Maniac!

So Sara loves to dance! She is not very good at it, but she loves loves loves to dance! She is obsessed with Dancing with the Stars and American Idol. She breaks out her best spinning tutu skirt for both shows and just dances her cares away. The other night on American Idol the Final 7 sang the song "Maniac" from the movie "Flashdance". So Daddy and I decided to tell Sara how the girl in the movie dances to the song, and the following video is the result!

So Saturday we had Sara's friend Allan's birthday party. And just our luck it was at another bounce place!!! Sara loves these things! This was one we had never been to before, Bounce Jungle. It proved to, once again, be a blast!

That night Matt and Jenny and the kids came over for dinner, and fun! It really was a fun packed Saturday!

But it's not over! Sunday (today) Daddy told us that he didn't care what we did, but we needed to get out of the house so he could do some studying. So I decided to take Sara to the Children's Museum of Phoenix. We had never been there before so I thought we would give it a try. OH BOY did we have FUN!!!! We met the Cox family down there, and Bubba Hudsy and Sara had a blast!! The played with the Whoosh machine, ran through the noodle forest, did some grocery shopping, took the trikes through the trike wash, and that was just the tip of the iceberg!! They had so much fun, we will definitely be returning soon!

I can't thank Jenny enough for hosting our Easter festivities this year! And also for including Uncle Peber! With our 3rd egg hunt in two days, and being surrounded by family it was a blast!! The girls all had matching dresses and Grayson had the matching shirt! They all looked too cute! So after a looooooonnnnnnng weekend, Momma prescribed herself a day of rest today!
