It's been a month since my last confession...

I can't believe it has been over a month since I said I was back to the blogging world, and I haven't done a thing!! It has been crazy around here as always EXCEPT for I am working now!! I have a great part time job, 3 days a week, from 9-3. It is perfect with the kids schedules, and I work with some pretty amazing people. It is a HUGE learning experience since it is in an industry that I know nothing about....401(k)'s. I am learning more and more every day, and it feels good to feel like I am actually making a contribution to something outside of the home. We are all still really busy with soccer....I say we all because while Cole is the one doing all the "work", we all have to sacrifice our time and of course money to keep him playing. Keeping our fingers crossed that it will all pay off someday. Taylor is loving being a big 1st grader...she even lost her first and second tooth all in the same week. Though she is not loving her "look" minus the teeth, she is loving feeling like a big kid...finally!! Adam is still working in Florida. It is really hard but we keep plugging along. Hopefully we will be making a decision on how to change things in the next couple of months. Since getting a new computer, I on't have a ton of pictures to post but once I get them all uploaded, I will post a blog of pictures!!

Back to the blogging world....

So many things have happened lately that have caused me to neglect my blog. It makes me sad because I think when life is busy, that is the time that you SHOULD blog to keep the memories. The Fasslers have been a busy bunch.....between being a mom, summer break, soccer, tumbling, work for Adam, now work for Leigh, and school starting, there barely has been time to eat. I am hoping now that I have a fully functioning computer, I will be able to keep up with things, and update the blog MUCH more often...though that wouldn't take much at this point. Watch for some fun updates......

Taylor & Ella's Tea Party

In SLCSD, the Kindergarteners get 4 days in the Spring off for State Assessments. Well, isn't that the perfect time for a tea party? Taylor's best friend Ella's birthday is in May and Taylor's is in June SO we decided to have a "dual birthday party" for the girls while they were out of school. Erin, Ella's mom, and I went into high gear and started planning the Tea Party. We got each girl their own tea service, made mini sandwiches, fruit, cheese, and jello jigglers for their "light lunch". Since both girls made it clear that they don't like tea, we had to opt for pink lemonade instead. We made each girl a "tea bonnet" out of tissue paper, packing tape, and organza ribbon so they would be in proper tea party form. It was adorable, and the girls all had a blast acting like old ladies at tea. Erin and I made all the decorations ouselves.....I think it turned out fantabulous!!!

Daisy End of the Year Party

What a great year for Taylor's Daisy Scout troop. We made it all the way through our Daisy Journey, sold tons of cookies, went to a holiday overnight camp at Trefoil Ranch, and had our end of the year party at Build A Bear!!! The girls were thrilled when we told them that this was our destination for the party. Our troop had made enough cookie to take the girls there, and pay for them a bear & shirt!! Plus, we still have enough money to pay for the girls to go to Twilight camp in August!! It has been a great year, and we can't wait for next year!!

Cole & his new "grill"

No, I am not talking about a new BBQ. Cole now has what is called Schwartz (think Spaceballs) Appliance. We are hoping that if he uses it EXACTLY as the orthodontist instructed him to, that he will NOT have to get braces. So for the next 6 months, he has to wear it 24/7....only taking it out to eat. After 6 months, we are hoping he can switch to just wearing it at night, and then after a year, he will be done, and have straight teeth. We found out that he still has 12 baby teeth to still loose, and that there are a few that probably won't come out until he is around 14!! That is crazy!! Believe me, I will be checking to make sure it is in his mouth at ALL TIMES....especially since the Schwartz costs $450.00 and braces start at $3795.00. Just a slight difference in price!!

Boutiques, Boutiques, Boutiques

Well, Spring isn't just for Spring cleaning.....it is Boutique Season for us in the "craft world". Multiples in a weekend isn't even breaking the surface. The most we had in one weekend was 3....can you say nuts?? It is hard enough planning for one, let alone 3 in one weekend. That is why we tag team it, right Jenn? My good friend and I have been boutique partners for the last couple of months. Though some were duds, some were really successful. We definitely know which ones we are game for in the future. Below are a few pictures of one of our set ups...we were actually known for making our booth look like a little bedroom. We were always happy to "toot our own horn" when people asked us which booth was ours....."It is the adorable one set up like a bedroom". Though it is a lot of work, I always had a really good time, and laughed until my sides hurt at every set up. Thanks Jenn & Brad for the good laughs!!

Cole's Soccer Update.....

So, pretty much everyone knows that this season was rough to say the least. Though Cole loved every minute of it, I can honestly say I DID NOT!!! Cole has a love and passion for soccer. He is either kicking a ball, or watching Fox Soccer Channel for the latest update. The kid lives & breathes soccer. Good thing because is love for the game is what got me through this last season. Long and short of it all.....we are finished with his U10 Academy season. His team did fairly well...they came in 3rd in the x-league standings. They were a little disappointed due to the fact that they had been first in the Fall, and were undefeated at the Presidents Cup Tournament. I must say that I loved every minute of watching him play, and am so thankful for the friendships he has made being on that team.

On May 4th, Cole has his first day of tryouts, with a second day planned for May 6th. Honestly, Cole and I both had our reservations about him playing for Impact next year, and were thinking of trying out for other teams. We didn't have a good coach experience, and it left a bad taste. Cole had an amazing tryout, and when we found out that his potential new coach was actually the guy who coached Uncle Dan's team back in the day, we both were sold that it was going to be a much better experience. We got the results on May 7th, and Cole made the Black U-11 team coached by Connie Martin. We were all so thrilled!! He made it on the best team Impact has for his age group....to Cole this is BIG TIME!!! So here's to another year of practices, games, and tournaments....I honestly can't wait. Oh and guess what.........I am the Team Manager for his team!! Wish me luck!!!
