In late March and early April, wildflowers come out in abundance here in Texas. The state flower is the bluebonnet and I guess that is why so many people get pictures of their kids each year in the bluebonnets. We have lived in Texas for over 10 years now and had yet to get pictures of the kids in the bluebonnets. One day, after a football game, I decided it was time. None of the kids matched and none of them were thrilled, but...this is a Texas tradition and who am I to buck it?
Having experience in trying to get my kids to take pictures, I knew that taking pictures of all of them together is best done first. Troy was out of town this weekend and I could only do so much, so there aren't any perfect pictures, but I do think each of their pictures says alot about each of my kids.
Emma is our little poser...notice the hands on her legs. She has an aversion to sunlight in her eyes and that made picture taking in this location a challenge.
Matt is my guy who tries so hard to please, but the sun in his eyes made him ready to be done a lot earlier than I was. Perhaps I should have just chosen a different location, but by this point I was just looking for any pictures.
Josh loved picking all the flowers. I look at this picture and can just hear Josh saying, "If I smile real big, Mom will stop taking pictures and leave me alone."
Zach has learned that the fake smile is not my favorite and now he won't give me a smile at all. I keep telling him to show some teeth...but you can see how well that went.
All in all, we finally got some pictures in the bluebonnets and I can't ask for much more than that.
