Our good friend Dusty is deployed. To Europe. Lucky us, we have been able to spend some time catching up with him. Bonus = when he comes to Sunday dinner, he does my dishes. I am so glad we have been able to see him. But having him here makes me miss his wife Mary Anne SO, SO much!!
A few weeks ago, I drove to Munich to pick up a stranger. My friend Christine just had a baby, and her mom was flying in to visit and help out with the new baby. I was happy to help out. I drove to Munich, walked all over the airport, met the very, very sweet woman, helped her walk her bags rather far through a crowded airport, drove her to Christine's house, walked her into Christine's house, and said my goodbyes. When I got back to my house I realized that I had been wearing two different shoes all day. Christine's mother probably thought I was completely crazy! And I still can't stop laughing about it.
The young women in our ward hosted a spaghetti dinner and dessert auction to raise money for girls camp. It was a huge hit! I wish I had more pictures, but this was the only one I took to show off their paper candles and checkered tablecloths.
I knocked over my German, hand-carved Chamois/mountain goat. I'm heartbroken. I broke the antlers right off. I hope I can fix it without it showing...
Erick and I had a yummy steak dinner with my friends Jackie and Ashli and their husbands. This was the only photo I took. The food was so yummy! And the company was even better. Sadly, near the end of the night, someone hit Jackie's car while it was parked. Bummer!
My oven stopped working. Luckily maintenance was able to fix it. I was hoping for a new one, but alas, it was not meant to be.
I picked up my flower boxes for the season! They are not yet in my windows though. I'm so excited! I hope I can keep them alive this year.
Joey wanted a hair cut. I am cheap, so I cut it myself. Then she wanted highlights in her hair. Again, I did it myself. She's happy with it, and I don't think it's half bad.
I took a picture of this egg as a reminder to myself. I wanted to remember how much I love the eggs here in Germany. They are so fresh. They are straight from the farm. The proof is in the feathers. ha ha! I don't need to refrigerate them like we must do with most eggs I buy in the States.
For family night one Monday night, we played Apples to Apples. It was a huge hit! We ended the night by taking a selfie with a word that described ourselves. Bailey handed me the one that said "old." She said it was perfect for me. Little stinker.
David's reading has really improved over the last few months. I'm really proud of him!
We had stake conference a few weeks back. After conference, we stopped at these benches to have a picnic before the long drive home. The little church next to us was 300 years old. Have I told you how much I love Germany? I just love it.
