Finally!

It snowed this morning- Hurray! It's been really cold here... without snow. I'm down with cold as long as there is snow. Sam has a wicked cough but I let him go out to make an angel and then right back.

I can hardly get Ben to come back inside!

Ward Christmas Party

...so it isn't "technically" our ward, but we crashed it anyway. Waiting for food and playing with the camera.There was a Festive Holiday Sweater contest and I think Sam was looking pretty good.

The Missionaries took second.

But Mac won! You can't see it but there is an entire Advert calendar on the back of his sweater and jingle bells on his sleeves. Lindsey's was all sparkles and they both had huge plastic poinsettia corsages - hence the prom pose. So fun!

Oh Christmas tree!

We got a $5 permit and went North to get our own Christmas tree this year. It was FREEZING, but it was really fun!

The boys had a blast - I think Sam would have stayed there all day.
I guess we had fun too... just a little though.

Fort Bragg Part II

Continuing on with the fishing trip - Mitch also got to bring back about 10 crab.

He discovered that if you chop them in half before cooking, they are much easier to clean. Gross. I don't like crab (bring on the lobster though), so I didn't care how they were cooked. Anyway, we had a seafood feast with our friends we stayed with (Chris and Roland) (could I have any more parenthesis!?!) of crab and calamari.


Most of the time we just went to the beach. I love it there. Love it.
I can't believe we didn't take any pictures of Thanksgiving, but we had a delicious meal with our friends and I'm still full from it! Not really, but it was so good. On the way home we spent the night in the town in Oregon I was born in - Klamath Falls. Here is our old house. It looks very different and much smaller than I remember.
This is our old elementary school- that looks like it's been closed down! Sad.
And this is on the way home. This is pure Tippetts blood. Kenna and Mitch!?!?!

Fort Bragg Part I

Hold on to your hats, we took a lot of pictures (So feel free to skip most of them)! We drove down the coast and stopped at the Paul Bunyan(?) and Babe the Blue Ox statues we would always stop at when I was little and we were going to my Grandparents house (in F.B.). *that's not a black shirt - it's his chest hair!)

We also stopped in Leggit to do the drive through tree.



Once we got to our desired destination we went tide pooling at Cleone.

And saw the Skunk train.

Oh yeah, remember the crab and squid fishing previously mentioned? Well here is the squid! They were Humbolt Squid and huge! I'm so glad I wasn't there!

This is the "hook"? they used that is dropped to like 1000 feet and the green parts glow in the dark and attract the squid. Then they wrap around it and get stuck.

Mitch left his camera on the dock so the next day he took the boys down there to retrieve it.

I asked Mitch if we could wait until Sat. to leave for Fort Bragg. Why? So I could have a girl's night out with The Ladies! He rolled his eyes and was cool with it. :) So Friday night we went to dinner and then went to see New Moon.

We are having a blast in NorCal and I"ll post pics when we get back. (Right now Mitch is crab and squid "fishing"? *gag* )

Here is my sewing project completed! I got a sewing machine for my birthday because I want to learn to be all domestic. This is a "Gumdrop Pillow" I made for Sam's room and I'm making a bigger one next to match (with planets). The one for Ben's room is going to have frogs on it. It only took me forever and a day, but oh well!

We haven't been up to too much. We are leaving tomorrow to go to Fort Bragg for Thanksgiving! Mitch is on an easy rotation and can take some time off, so we are heading west to explore the Oregon coast and see friends in FB. Hopefully Mitch can get some Abalone too. I can't wait!

Sam's preschool had a Halloween parade for the kids. Sam was Darth Vader and it was kind of hard to see him!
I woke up yesterday to snow!?!!? It's not even Halloween yet! It melted when it hit the ground, but it was definately snowing.
